Yes, busy hands indeed! This has been a truly crazy year, but there have been some good opportunities to take up things like spinning yarn that maybe we’d have been to busy for prior. A most enjoyable video visit. I became a Subscriber this year and have been liking all that you share. I too love fountain pens and inks and am building a modest collection of new pens and various colors of inks. I once took violin lessons but decided I was wasting both my and the teacher’s time as I wasn’t a serious enough student and did not push myself to practice. I later gave up the lessons and gave my violin and bow to my granddaughter who studied violin from age four until she recently graduated college with a music business degree. My father is a self taught musician who plays several instruments including the mandolin. So naturally I like that you are interested. Lastly I saw your BJDs and for Christmas I asked my husband to get me a 24” doll (he did) and for my birthday in December I gave myself a smaller one. My plan is to sew both dolls a wardrobe. When I saw your doll clothes in the drawer I immediately was hooked on the idea. I wrote all of this to say that your channel is a big inspiration to me. In regard to the Midori 5 Year diary/planner, I have a similar item, by Leuchturm - it's called, 'Some Lines A Day', comes in a variety of colours, & of course, is prefixed with "20" for the decade ahead. I have to say, of all the fountain pen enthusiasts that present on UA-cam, yours has been one of the most dynamic - particularly, the narration of passages from some of the most iconic writers of the last century - for myself, this gave great personal joy, accompanied by beautiful handwritten examples. Altho' Irish, I reside in the UK, & there is a comedian/presenter on British television - Bill Bailey, who also likes to learn & play musical instruments. I enclose a link to a UA-cam clip, where Bill plays his newly acquired Mandola (Mandolin Bass) - an Irish Jig, & I am sure you will find this entertaining; perhaps another variant of the Mondolin that you may wish to embrace. I was surprised by your Christmas gifts: In a recent video you mentioned you were getting a Pelikan Souverän M600 Tortoiseshell-Red Fountain Pen, & I was expecting to see your reaction. I had planned to get one myself, but Sheaffer came out with a Legacy (formerly "Pen For Men") in gold "herringbone," so I got that instead. Anyway, I already have a number of Pelikan 600s. I keep a diary but I use bound 80-sheet 10.5" x 8.5" Top/Flight, Meade, or similar brands. The manufacturers describe them as "One Subject College Ruled." I like them because they are 3-hole punched, so I can keep the completed ones in 3-ring "D" binders. Like the other folks who comment here, I enjoy reading about your varying interests and projects.

Hello there. I have a Pilot Kakuno in red and dark grey with a B nib from a Pilot 78g +. I have put a clip from a Iraurita brass pen to customise it. I have a Tomoe river paper pad and love the 56g paper My daily writing pen is a Jinhao X750 Lava red with it's original nib. I have it inked with Waterman's Tender Purple. I gifted my lady friend with a Pilot 78g with an f nib inked with Seitz Kreuznach Palm green ink. She loves it. Pilot nibs are amazing. I sold my Adler typewriter and miss it already. My grandmother used to play a mandolin and I have never forgotten it. I too value my online friendships especially yours. I am in Stroud in Gloucestershire and we have just gone in to tier 4 which is no going out. Cabin fever is made better with UA-cam pen friends.

I made it through Crime and Punishment and The Idiot, but that's all (Russian-wise). I'm going to try to do better this year. 😀

Perhaps you could touch on pen maintenance. As a new pen user I'm not sure when or how I'm supposed to clean my pens. Gifted my nephew with the Kaweco Sport for Christmas. He loved it.

I bought a Hobo Weeks too for 2021 and a Midori 5 year diary. I backfilled 2020 since it was really a year worth recording. I used a red fountain pen and will change the color for each year (rainbow colors).

Hello there. I have a Pilot Kakuno in red and dark grey with a B nib from a Pilot 78g +. I have put a clip from a Iraurita brass pen to customise it.
I have a Tomoe river paper pad and love the 56g paper
My daily writing pen is a Jinhao X750 Lava red with it's original nib.
I have it inked with Waterman's Tender Purple.
I gifted my lady friend with a Pilot 78g with an f nib inked with Seitz Kreuznach Palm green ink. She loves it. Pilot nibs are amazing.
I sold my Adler typewriter and miss it already.
My grandmother used to play a mandolin and I have never forgotten it. I too value my online friendships especially yours. I am in Stroud in Gloucestershire and we have just gone in to tier 4 which is no going out. Cabin fever is made better with UA-cam pen friends.

@@adventuredenali I have an absolutely impossible list for next year, and I keep adding to it, anyway. In 2019, I had set a goal to read a bunch of Russian literature that I was shamefully lacking. I made it through Crime and Punishment and The Idiot, but that's all (Russian-wise). I'm going to try to do better this year. 😀
I bought my aunt a hobonichi:D now I need to get her a fountain pen to go with :))

Perhaps you could touch on pen maintenance. As a new pen user I'm not sure when or how I'm supposed to clean my pens. Gifted my nephew with the Kaweco Sport for Christmas. He loved it.

I bought a Hobo Weeks too for 2021 and a Midori 5 year diary. I backfilled 2020 since it was really a year worth recording. I used a red fountain pen and will change the color for each year (rainbow colors).
