how close to the end of the board can you make the joint before it is to short and one side snaps from leverage? using this joint on 2x8 dimensional lumber. the plans i was given call for the joint to be 2 inches from the end of the board on both ends. the board is 68 inches long so the slightest leverage breaks off the 2 inch piece. obviously it needs to be further from the end. do you have a formula or suggestion?
Hi. I'm thinking of making a box bench out of some sheets of Chipboard I have here. Will cross-halving be strong enough to support people sitting on it ? Or should I just make a subframe ?
Excellent. Clear instructions and well produced video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Wonderfully explained and demonstrated. Cheers!
Thank you so much for your tutorial. My greetings from Greece

Thank you 👍🏻 you just answered my doubts. What's the thinnest piece of timber you've ever done or you advice to try it on?
Thank gentleman. I come across looking for a way to do a pot plant stand.
What is the name ofbthat tool you used to score the wood if i go to Lowes or Home depot
Love this. Made one as a drawer divider for my bowties but made it too small :( good practice though !

hi there, when you cut , you say do not go past the line, but you cut to the line since the line is still to be seen is that right?
this was very awesome, thanks box hill institute man :))
Thanks, I could have just butt jointed but this is more stable for a plant pot stand crossbrace.
But where did he cut the bottom cross cut and what did he use to cut it with.
Came here to ask the thing. Lol. Seems like a major missing detail.
Show off. 😉 Some day I will be able to do that. The question is how long the journey will take.
its been 2 years, were you able to do it or not?
@@Hisham_HMA Nope. I never could. I’m the worst. The masters make it look so easy. Remarkable.
