Some one I used to work for had a motto, "I have done so much with so little that I can now do anything with nothing". You don't have all the fancy tools, but do beautiful work!
The expression is - we, the unwilling, led by the unknowing are doing the impossible for the ungrateful, We have done so much, for so long, with so little, we are now qualified to anything with nothing
You truly are a master of the craft, to be able to work so precisely with the most basic of tools is something any self respecting joiner should aspire to
The guy is a genius! I'm amazed how he saws the joints to near his marks, the paring them to fit with what must be very sharp chisels -- not even a rebate plane or similar. I wish that I was 1/2 as good!!
If I mistake not, this is Chinese Ming dynasty style. You did a great job with simple tools.I noticed you sawed along the line but always gave some space to cut with a chisel for a higher accuracy. I learned a lot, thank you, master!
Is there a purpose to attaching/removing it several times before finishing it off. Don't get me wrong, very satisfying to watching all the gaps perfectly disappear, just wondering if there was a purpose.
You put the tenon below the center line. You could also have put it above the center line. Do you choose which to use depending upon how the load will be applied? Or, is it always built like this, below the center line? Thank you for sharing this with us.
Estos son los carpinteros que admiro, los de la vieja escuela, con poca herramienta y la mayoría de mano, mis respetos para ellos que hacen honor a la profecion.
I know this man on clip is a Vietnamese by his style wearing. There are thousands of craftsman like him in Vietnam, they don' t have expensive and good tools, but their skills are not worse than Japanese experts.

Whoever said that must have been a United States Marine
Actually he was in the Army Corps of Engineers. I did have a brother who was in the Marines though...

See you in the next video

I found myself focused on how long it takes and how complicated it was..
Then I realized that’s what’s amazing about it.
Thank you……
Looks easy in your hands master, I can't be like that
Great careful precision work. No power tools needed nor "sand down to the line." Good tools and sharp edges! Artistic and professional craftsmanship.
Excellent craftmanship
Just perfect ⛩️🎏🙏🏽
