@RossStorey95 The Mellberg one only counted as an own-goal because the referee thought the keeper got a touch on it. If it goes straight into your own goal from a throw-in it would be a corner kick. The ref got that one wrong and was slaughtered for it in the press and on football programs. The rule in FIFA is teh correct rule.
@TheRuddock21 This is correct. Another interesting - and even less well known - ruling is that if an indirect freekick goes straight into your own goal, it is a corner kick to the opposition and NOT an own goal. I sometimes wonder if refs would know what to do in those situations.
thats legal if it touches anybody on its way in happened in the womens world cup.....the keeper got her finger to it but it still went in and it was a goal....case would have been different if she didnt get her finger to it
