If you ever wanna make a new world you can just take a half stack of food and run in one direction and once you finish all your food set up a new base and you can connect them up over a few months

    • @husch05
      @husch05 3 роки тому +43

For me this is like starting a new world but with extra steps. This is something I did in my 3 year old PE survival world and it just didn’t work. However last month I decided to build next to my ancient and ugly builds (100-200 blocks away). I had a clear vision that would work next to my old base. My point being is that I was able to return to my old base and get myself supplied all the time. Of course you can just use a nether hub… But I didn’t had a nether hub at that time.
My comment in one sentence: Make sure that your new location has a good connection to your old base.

Sometimes having them be disconnected is part of the point though, that way i can forget them, find them again and be all surprised and nostalgic etc. Kinda just do whatever feels right at the time and if you don't like it, run away to start again

    Some additional tips:
    - Have two long-term worlds. I have a 1-year old survival world and a 4-year old creative world. When I'm tired of one, I can just switch to the other for a while.
    - Try to never complete projects 100%, but always leave room for expansion.

      The 3 Reasons are nice,
but the problem is that Minecraft unhealthily discourages

      Each New Update,

      It sucks A LOT.
And i wanted for a long time for people to
realize that this is something that Mojang needs
      to fundamentally change about World-Generation:
We need the Option to simply tell the PC that we build
on a specific Radius of Squaremeters and that the Rest
doesnt matter to us, so it can be reloaded with the New

      @misspatvandriverlady7555 3 роки тому +2

Getting to the end and beating the dragon is NOT easy at first, like professional youtubers who have done it dozens of times make it look. Make a villager breeder (lots of beds in a fence with double gates to keep them in but let you in and out, and plenty of wheat, potatoes, and carrots for them to "eat") and get yourself some armor smiths, weapon smiths, and tool smiths. Level them up so they give you diamond stuff. Get an enchantment table and a grindstone, so you can "cycle through" the enchantments and get Protection on your armor and Sharpness on your sword. Other good armor enchantments include Blast Protection, Fire Protection, and Feather Falling. Seriously consider switching to Peaceful mode to find the nether fortress and create a safe path to a blaze spawner there, and also for the dragon battle. Bring sand or gravel to easily climb and decend the pillars and destroy the end crystals! While you are in peaceful in the nether, you might as well mine a bit for netherite scrap; it is worth putting netherite on your sword, at least. Use your weapon smith's workstation to turn your sword netherite once you have an ingot. You can trade cleric villagers for enderpearls, so no need to leave peaceful mode for that! The only time you really HAVE to leave peaceful mode for easy, at least, is to get blazes to spawn for their rods. Toycat illustrated this once by walking over 200,000 blocks to the first usable, fully filled in end portal found in Bedrock, thus beating the enderdragon without ever leaving peaceful mode or the overworld. Search "walking 200,000 blocks to beat Minecraft" if you want to check out that video, it still exists and is an idea for beating the game if you really want to minimize risk. You don't even need to mine or set up a base, because you will find everything you need in villages and desert temples and such along the way. Best of luck!

I would 100% recommended having a Saddle for a Strider, they make traversing much easier. You can get Warped Fungus for a Warped Fungus on a Stick from Warped Forest (bedrock and java) and also Crimson Forest (java only).
Create a trail (using overworld blocks like cobblestone) for where you came from. Remember coordinates of your portal too so you do not get lost.

      The 3 Reasons are nice,
but the problem is that Minecraft unhealthily discourages

      Each New Update,

realize that this is something that Mojang needs
      to fundamentally change about World-Generation:
We need the Option to simply tell the PC that we build
on a specific Radius of Squaremeters and that the Rest

I started my Minecraft journey in 2015 on my tablet. While I wish I could say I've had a long-term survival world spanning all that time, that is unfortunately not the case. Pocket Edition for my tablet was buggy beyond belief, and would erase my worlds almost every time Minecraft updated. I figured out how to back up my worlds around 2018, but by then my habit of hastily creating worlds had been practically engraved in stone.
It wasn't until I started watching your videos, Toycat, that I sat down and decided to see how long I could last in a completely no-cheats, single-player, survival world. And in that world, I experienced some of the best moments of my years playing Minecraft. I built a tree tower base, and I was so *proud* of it. I found my first diamonds, and they were *worth* something to me. I found dogs, cats and parrots, and each of those dear blocky animals *mattered* to me. I stayed in that world, exploring and building all sorts of wacky creations up until the day my tablet permadied. I was mournful, yes, but I had now tasted the best part of Minecraft and I wanted it again. And with that in mind, I finally decided to buy Minecraft for my laptop and set up a permanent survival world.
It is closing in on a year now, in August 2021, and I have progressed further than I ever thought I would. I have a quaint little base, Hobbit-hole-esque, that stretches from well up in the hills to the precipice of bedrock. I've built entire towns and constructed railroads spanning oceans. I have a whole family of pets, each with their own room. I even have a giant map stretching across the sky for no reason at all! While I still have yet to beat the dragon that has beckoned me for years, I can tell you with confidence it won't be long now.
Thank you Toycat, for opening my eyes to the possibilities of Minecraft. I wish you the biggest of salmon for your journey. 😊

I don't understand how anyone can make the choice to start a new world. There's nothing more daunting to me than the first hour of a minecraft world. I love having enough resources to know I can build without having to go gather a bunch of stuff. I've always seen Minecraft as a city building game more than a survival game, so staying with one world is the only thing that makes any sense to me.

I mean, I enjoy starting a new world. The first hour of a world is my favorite time, and the challenge of starting from scratch and working my way up the ranks is the best. Once I become too OP, I feel like the game becomes too trivial and so I restart. Because I would rather build in a creative mode world than a survival with OP gear. That's why my survival worlds usually never make it further than the end fight and my long-term world is in creative mode.

My advice is to start with small projects and keep adding them to a location. Doing big projects in one go is overwhelming and will cause a burn out. The best thing to do is to have one big project at a time and some smaller projects in your world. This can keep you from burning out.

If you have a mine shaft that you know of but have not fully explored you can still get 1.17 loot from it's chests given the right conditions.
For example, in my pre-1.17 survival world there is a mine shaft below my island that I have been working on and I have even walked up to the entrance of the mine shaft, However, since I did not fully explore the mine shaft and since the minecart chests are entities and therefore have a smaller loading radius, almost all of the chests I found had glow berries in them.

Honestly what normally helps me stick to my world is to make lore behind your game,
    - I generally focus on building up my fort and villages, industrialising them and then turning them into a relaxing sort of experience, villages definitely help with making the game feel alive, especially with the new jobs with the village and pillage update as well as the raid system. Plus villagers help A LOT for late game and decorating, whether it be redstone, food (if you wish to set up a little cafe in your village), maps or hell even diamond gear if you level up your craftmen that work on tools, armour or weapons
    - I have even begun to document some backstory, a journal of my character's journey in the world and also made a recipe book for things like explosive bolts
    - Also just adventuring really makes the game feel more immersive, whether it be in places like the nether, the deep dark or hell even the overworld, there is a lot to do these days compared to when I was a kid and the game was still new, raiding illager forts like some knight of the grail, visiting jungle or desert temples.

Right now I have 2 worlds I actually play, one that is a hardcore world that is 1362 days in, I have tons of farms and lots of plans, but when that gets boring I switch to my second hardcore world that is a survival island so it's way different challenge. And the island one I made with the new caves datapack so its super fun to explore.

Personally, I can't stand starting from scratch due to how much I've done it when trying to make worlds in the past. the only way I've been able to keep playing at all has been by going on a friend's world and playing there

Maybe you need a break from the game. Just a few weeks should do, or you can wait until the next update. You should only play the game if you're having fun, and if you aren't having any, you shouldn't force yourself to play.

The biggest reason for me struggling to maintain my survival world of 3 years was definitely file size (roughly 1GB). I, and a few of my friends, had explored roughly 10k blocks in each direction. I recently used a program called Amulet to reset all the chunks I haven’t built in and my world is back to 200mb and I now have access to features like geodes and copper just a few hundred blocks away and I enjoy it a lot more.

Hmmm, nice video. I recently picked up playing again after awhile -- my first project was to clean up a village. At first it was survival, but I eventually got bored and swapped to creative, and built up a very impressive village. I was planning on trying survival again, this video convinced me to keep this world and just find a new spot to start over for awhile.

I've been playing my current world for probably around 3/4 of a year now, and doing so fairly consistently, and it is very different to have a survival world that I actually like. Things do feel slightly dead without other players IMO, but I've been using it as a chance to learn many of the game mechanics that I didn't pay attention to through the updates over the years, and I don't have to worry about conflicting interests. I do have long-term goals that are intentionally left vague, and it does seem to help me enjoy the world more.

I change worlds every major update, 1.16 to 1.17 for example. So it's enough time to finish some big projects but not too long where I feel like I'm missing out on feature updates.

I have a realm with my brother and dad that's getting pretty huge now. We have a few massive towns and rail and command block transportation systems between them all. We keep it fresh by switching from Survival to creative every so often.
