  • 🔋 TP4056 is probably the most popular IC used by makers to charge lithium-ion battery.
    After several years of using this module, I would like to share with you 3 things I have discovered about this module that I hope will help you to make the best use of it.

    I would love to see a video on how to connect a NTC thermistor to the TP4056 and finally get to know how to set the right values of those resistors.

      Of course!
      I need some time to study and do some tests and I will make your video!
      Thank you so much for your support!

      @@dariocose To know how to set these resistors is most important to me, because i want to connect a NTC to a different IC (IP2368 Battery charge controller with USB PD) of mine, too. It's datasheet mentioned only the usage of a 10k NTC and i need to connect a 100k NTC but have no Idea how to do that. Another IPxxx IC also has these 2 resistors, which seem to be included to tune the Chip for the resistance of the NTC. If you can tell me, how to calculate these values, i could finish my current project even before watching your video which of course had to be created first and could not help me with my question in the end. But i will watch it in any case :-)

    There should be an onboard potentiometer to adjust the charging current..

    The charge current monitoring is also why you should not connect more than 1 cell. As the current will be higher than the cutoff threshold

      You are right. The tp4056 should only be used for a single battery

      You absolutely can connect multiple cells in parallel.
      The charger can not tell the difference between five 500Ah cells in parallel or one 2500mAh cell. In fact, the cells could even be different capacities because the parallel connection forces the same voltage across all connected cells throughout the charge process.
      I think you may be confusing cell capacity with charge current. You can charge a 3400mAh cell with 100mA of current safely, it will just take a long time. (+34h)

    Can i use this module to charge my 10000mah battery?

    • @azharmukhi5894
      @azharmukhi5894 3 місяці тому +2

      The answer is you can but it will take a long long time, and putting a heat sink is also advisable. If you don't have heat sink than use two modules in parallel to charge the battery.
      Edit:Remember to do parallel connection of charging terminals, output terminals and battery terminals.
