You know… without evil, how do you measure good? I have a thought about this seeming paradox that isn’t actually a paradox that suggest a unification of the gnostic concept (God made the world good and evil) and the Christian concept (God made the world perfect). In science, you need a contrast between extremes in order to measure the state of something: the absence of energy being cold, and infinite energy being hot. Because the extremes exist as a concept, you can determine the energy state of anything by seeing where its energy state falls between the two extremes. Evil can be considered the absence of positive morals. Good can be considered the purest positive morals. The only way we can tell how good or bad we are is if these extremes exist as a concept, as everything else falls between these two extremes. Because the extremes can be hypothesized, we can determine how “good” or “bad” our morals actually are. What happens if there are no contrasting extremes? Then we would never know how good or bad our morals are. Morality would be a constant, always one thing, never changing. Like the speed of light, it is a fixed value that cannot change; if it is light, then it moves at the speed of light, no exceptions. Light can be bent and redirected, but it ALWAYS moves at its speed. If it doesn’t move that fast, or if it moves faster? Then it is no longer light. It is something else. So a world of constant morality would be a world where morals are static and unquestioned. If some “moral” questions arise that try to suggest a difference in morality, such deviations would label the deviation as no longer being a question about “morality”. If it isn’t that constant, then it is no longer what that constant normally represents. It becomes something else entirely. Edit: even that example about the speed of light being constant: that constant is only in reference to a specific speed. Speed as a concept also varies between no movement (zero speed) and infinite movement (infinite speed). Perhaps things we assume as being constant due to our incomplete understanding of the physical world are actually not constant, but parts of a sliding scale of comparison we have yet to fully understand scientifically? That is hard to say. Needless to say… this isn’t the world we live in. Ethics are incredibly broad and complex. Even simplistic “black and white” views of morality imply a near-infinite number of “shades of gray” between those extreme morals. The black and white thinking, if assumed to be the only two tones, is obviously false, but if you include both black and white AND all those shades of gray, then you can pinpoint the specific shade of gray between black and white that a particular morality may represent. And with a near-infinite number of shades between the extremes, there is enough contrast to draw and represent the entire world around you, literally with a pencil and sketchbook and morally. Without the extremes, the variations between them would be undetectable and/or nonexistent. At the same time, the variations do not cloud our understanding; they help us figure out the contrast and pinpoint exactly where we are, as long as we take the time to study our morality and study our surroundings. Thus, if God made a perfect world, then God would require us to understand what is “good” and “evil”. To do that, evil must exist as a concept, and so must good, so we can see where each of us stand between the total absence of positive morals (evil) and the purest positive morals possible (good). Therefore, a perfect world must have been created with the capacity for evil to manifest. The world doesn’t have to be imperfect in order for evil and suffering and hatred and all sorts of vices and sins to exist. If it were not for the negative, how would we even know that the positive exists? Without suffering, what is comfort? Without hatred, what is love? Without fear, what is courage? Without violence, what is peace? Without destruction, what is construction? Without evil, what is good? By knowing the extremes, we know where we stand between the extremes. From that point onward, it’s up to us to decide towards which extreme we wish to approach, if we approach either at all. In a truly perfect world, knowing the spectrum and successfully navigating it is infinitely better than an unchanging, constant static that can never vary without completely changing its own reality. And for God to want its creation to understand good and evil and to desire the good over the evil, this world must be made for us to understand the difference and navigate it as its creation desires, to find out for ourselves the truth about good and evil and to always desire the good over the evil, thus motivating us naturally towards what God wants. Without the capacity to manifest evil, this world would be incapable of teaching us this concept God wants us to understand and master. Thus, God both made a perfect world, AND made evil as a concept possible to exist. I hope this was some food for thought, this was a fantastic video! Thank you for your hard work!
If you want more “Horrorwarmer” (heartwarming horror) I’d go to Vibingleaf’s channel, they remake creepypastas, making some differences (like smiling dog, Sonic.exe (I think), and even herobrine!)
It's because she was a mother figure in her own right. She dealt with the pain and hurt within his heart & soul while his biological mother protected his body as best she could. To that end, it's *_ENTIRELY_* understandable to recognize her as a sort of maternal entity in his life. At the end of the day, she *_WAS_* a mother in a sense.
The lesson of Angel Hare is that you can overcome your hardships (Jonah), that no matter how much you fail, you can still try to do better (Francis), that murder is okay (Gabby), and that you can achieve anything if you believe in yourself (Zaggy)
For real. Gabby got some kid to murder his dad. If shes supposed to be one of the most powerful angels, she could have drummed up some divine intervention. Could have given the dad a heart attack. Jonah's prints were all over that gun. She did something bad but with good intentions, something that she punishes francis for in the game. So basically, "its ok if i do it, but not if you do it". Im tempted to look at this whole thing from a "god is actually evil" pov. But ill have to look at the source material to come up with my own theories since this is video was a review. A great review, but still by the nature of reviews, it must have left things out.
@@modestalchemist Actually the implication the series gives is that *Gabby* was the one who got rid of Jonah's father, not Jonah himself. This can be seen in how she coaches Jonah into making an alibi where he doesn't have to lie, like going to a friend's house, which gives the implication that this is what Jonah actually did while Gabby did whatever she did to Jonah's father.
Here's some food for thoughts, in the gospel of Matthew Jesus is very clear on the punishment for people that hurt children including a good old sleeping with the fishes
Francis's voice suddenly being part of the narration with no warning is probably the scariest thing about Angel Hare that I've seen and this is a compliment
It hit so hard when someone that have been by your side says that you have grown up and learn alot is just so heartwarming since it tell me that i have make someone proud ever since then
I just realized if Francis is aware like Gabriel and Zagzagel that means he actually waited that whole time for Gabby to appear just so he didn’t have to break the script.
I love comedic break that comes with zaggy breaking the fourth wall with a straight up record scratch sound effect before turning to francis and asking if he knows this guy. It's such a sudden shattering of the tension that it made me laugh out loud.
I'd like to highlight Gnosticism actually has two Deities The Demiurge who made the world broken and The Monad who would save it, so these angels could be on The Monad's side like Jesus is believed to be. That would also explain Zag's apprehension about his past as well as the bad blood he has with a blackjack dealer, he once served The Demiurge and he regrets it.
@@dudebucket60 by "Gnostic symbol," do you mean the ouroboros? Because that originally Egyptian symbol dates to the 14th century BCE. It predates Christianity and gnosticism and has been common in the cultures of three continents for literal millennia. Sorry to tell you, but the channel author's claim to have "done the research" is simply false.
@patmkessler given that the characters are specifically christian angels i think connecting the symbols based on how they relate to Christianity is the most reasonable thing to do.
I love how over time you get more attached to Francis, starting out like ‘he’s definitely… in my top two favorite angel hare characters…’ to ‘My man Francis’ and ‘Francis slander, which I will not stand for.’
i cant help but feel comforted by angle gabby, too. Im not religious- i used to be, and part of me does think theres.. something? Anyways, the thought of a angel guiding a child on how to stay safe, and avoid abuse- is sweet. Angel gabby doesnt seem to sugar c oat it. instead, says 'yes, that can be an awful feeling. but there is a way to make it less awful'. ive never liked adults lieing about a truth to protect me, as a kid. Children deserve the truth, but they also deserve a way to handle that truth. I like that angle gabby does that. I kinda wish i had one of my own.
What I love about this series and Vita Carnis is that it leans towards a happier ending compared to other horror series Just once humanity is wining (Vita Carnis) or just once the characters that you see on screen are good people you can trust. Any horror series tends to be so full of suspense, untrustworthy character and monsters and things lurking in the corner ready to give you a scare. But this series just feels so comfy. It feels safe like you know everything is going to be ok and you're rooting for all the characters
@@jordanromesburg6819And how could they, especially the Monoliths are practically immortal, and if they start actively moving around, Humanity is fucked
It...just occurred to me, after like, a week of listening to Angel Hare content, that Francis might be linked with Saint Francis of Assisi, the Patron Saint of Italy and lover of Animals.
I have a statue of Saint Francis and all the little garden lizards and other critters can be found sunning on him, not particularly related but just something wholesome
@@Kuronosa I can't believe that the whole time since the start of the video something has been bugging me about why he was named Francis and you sir just resolved that, I'd say it's also not a confidence that saint Francis of Assisi is my name day saint
I genuinely belief this is what Francis meant by that. Everyone tries to find some deeper meaning to it but sometimes it's just "Well Francis doesn't straight up call Gabby an angel, he calls her an 'angel hare' so of course he wouldn't just say devil, he'll say 'demon hare'"
So many people read into that, but I really agree that it's just a cute little interjection. Of course, a little forest creature would call a TV a devils box, or in his words, a "demon hare box", he's never seen one!
i like how while Gabby wanted to create compassion and safe spaces and Zag wanted to do what he set out to do almost bluntly, Francis was the silver lining the whole time. Relatably dishonest in spite of good intentions, and interested in understanding more than what the angels wanted to teach including information about demons. Was it necessary to go this hard writing such a banger of a story?
This was surprisingly wholesome story. I think Zaggy was always making you question his motives could be the entire idea of not being judging a book by its cover. He seems and acts distant and brash but in reality he has his own way of caring and wanting to help. Hell he mentioned he feels that hand holding isnt necessary but just explaining things to kids and theyll be able to figure out the rest.
Bravo! Seriously, such a compelling and emotional story that The East Patch created. You also did a marvelous job at narrating, dissecting, and interpreting the films and their implications. Thank you so much for introducing me to this series, I am grateful!
It was my treat! Also, the last couple of questions really had me thinking as well, "why Zagzagel?" I can understand why you had so much annoyance trying to find stuff because there really is not much to go off of. However, the biggest reason I believe that Zagzagel was introduced and not another more referenced angel like Michael is mainly because Zagzagel is an angel you call for when you have questions. This could explain why he appeared when it seemed that Jonah was confused and while Francis was constantly calling for Gabby. Jonah was lost, and wanted answers, which could only be obtained by the investigative Zaggy.
@@crowmudgeon oh for sure, watched the whole series in prep for this video and couldn't be happier. Thinking I'm gonna have to get me a Francis Plush after all this.
Have you played those older teaching games where when you wait long enough, it slowly starts to fill in the 'correct' answer for you? From the videos I've seen, that automatically starts with C instead of T o_o
So glad you came around to the simple conclusion. This really is just a happy ending to me. I probably have a solid bit of bias considering I’m a Christian, but to watch it from that perspective makes it so incredibly unique.
Great work!! Was such a nice surprise when I heard Francis! I really don’t get the idea that what Gaby or even Zag did were indicative of them not being actual angels. I think that’s the point, the “regular” version of the show is the sanitized child fantasy version of Christian morals while the real Gaby is the biblically accurate one. Angels are not soft and sweet, they smite the wicked and do horrific things at God’s command. And Zag states it, he’s not giving different morals than Gaby, he just doesn’t tell kids exactly what they have to do like she does. Considering the type of show it is, he probably doesn’t even overtly mention the Bible like she does. And like you said he doesn’t live in the easy world of a quiet forest with just Francis, his everyday is brutal and fast, he can’t trust anyone. He’s rough around the edges and doesn’t like to waste his time with gentle nurturing like Gaby and even though that’s not who Jonah needs or likes (probably because of a distrust of sketchy brutish men in general), that’s probably what other kids (presumably older kids based on the style and subject matter) need and want for their issues. Even just looking at who Zag is supposed to be biblically, he doesn’t show himself, he appears as an infinitely burning bush to give his message to Moses while Gaby appears before Mary as an angel telling her not to be afraid. (Also I did some research on Zagzagel and found that he has multiple names, including Sagsagel and found a document that mentions him as being the “Angel of Resurrection with Jesus Easter morn” which ties into the Easter egg segment and the fact that he helps with Gaby’s resurrection. It also mentions him standing “behind and below the Throne; on Earth” which I think works with the idea that Gaby is sort of spoiled by peace and solitude in heaven while Zag is in the thick of it on earth. I’m sure you saw this when you were researching but didn’t include it because it’s not particularly solid evidence or resources, but I thought it was interesting and figured I’d mention it) Also, in regard to the “demon hare boxes” comment about the TVs, I think that actually solidifies they are real angels. If your understanding of the video game is true, that “demon hares” are meant to be biblically accurate demons, these invisible forces that can be anything and live in anyone, it would make sense that they see TVs as “demon hare boxes.” TV, if you don’t have knowledge of the internet like Francis, would be the biggest conduit for “demons,” something that’s even brought up when Jonah’s mother was looking at documentaries that discuss the idea that television can lead to violence in children and is often blamed by Christians for being wicked and tainting young minds (the entire reason the show Angel Hare would even exist in the first place). It makes sense that real angels would use them similarly to counteract the demon hares.
This series legit made me tear up during the Season 1 finale. I still get goosebumps when i listen to _Guardian Angel_ . I hope the creators find even more success going forward, because they've certainly earned it
Gabby specifically told Johnah to hold the gun up so she could see what kind it was. Before he hid it behind the bookcase, and she told him putting it in his toy box would be "incriminating" either she pulled the trigger, or she arranged the shooting. While he was out of the house so he had an alibi.
i like the idea that gabby knows about specific types of guns. Im sure its because like. she has all knowledge from being an angel, but its way funnier to imagine gabby just also being a gun nut.
Some things to correct: The demiurge is not necessarily the god of christianity in gnosticism. It is a lesser being that created the material plane with all its flaws due to both incompetence and malevolence. The god above it filled the world with light, souls and knowledge. As such the angels are this higher beings agents. In this way I find Zagzagel a rather fitting angel. Both due to his gnostic origin and its search for truth through spiritualism and as the angel of wisdom himself. He is a detective...one who seeks and unveils the truth. Also I'd love to see a detective show, but with him as bunny Zaggy.
Angel Hare fascinates me on so many levels. Christian Apocrypha, Gnostic Occultism But it hits me so, so personally as someone who endured abuse. who suffered in the way Jonah suffered. I didn't have an Angel Gabby. I don't think it's wrong to hope for a world in which children like us do. I don't think it's wrong to hope that the world is good, and that there really are spirits out there, looking out for us. That we aren't our failings, that we're all beings of light and love. As much as it might seem alien from a perspective so entrenched in horror, I believe Angel Hare is about hope, because it's the thing that allows us to weather the storm. To believe that the world can be better The thing that lets us believe in Angels
The amount of passion in your voice and your story telling had me near tearing up. Almost like you feel Jonah's fear and pain, and them passing that feeling along to us. So well done.
So Angel Hare was such a treat cause it does the creepy background singing, like in mr. manticores stuff, and you assume its gonna be all horror. Instead its surprisingly wholesome, with a small twist.
Gabby was NEVER shown to have a physical presence in the “real world” (for lack of a better term.) Jonah had to have killed his dad, because why else would she have spent all that time coaching him how to disassemble it and hide all the pieces, how to set up his alibi, and how to respond to questioning? She walked him through the whole process to make sure he had the most efficient, safest, airtight plan to carry out. The idea was to be meticulous so that there was no chance of enough evidence being gathered to incriminate Jonah. He still DID it, but Gabby essentially tried to take on as much of the burden of thinking about it as she could.
100% agreed. I cant trust gabby after that. If we are to believe that these cartoon entities are real, and not some dissociation hallucination that jonah conjured up to protect his own fragile mind, gabby manipulated him into killing his dad when she could have given him the tools to seek help, tell his mom what was happening, gather evidence for the abuse, contact authorities or a crisis center who could help, or as an angel of the lord killed or otherwise incapacitated jonahs dad.
I assumed she had Jonah do these steps because she could only manifest in the real world in a more "Biblically Accurate" form than her cartoon design, and didn't she want to scare Jonah or draw unneeded attention.
The scene when the animation goes from being pre-recorded and jerky to fluid and live and she reaches out for Jonah brought tears to my eyes. This series is one of the most beautiful things on the internet.
@@crowmudgeon Okay I was seriously grinning from ear to ear with the special ending. You put so much love and attention to detail in this video (as you do always), and hearing that just really made my night. Amazing job Crow :)
I grew up in a jewish community, with a very jewish grandparents. Bible teachers said again and again that I'm one of the more involved students they've had in a while. My stepfather is very very christian. My two roomates are currently learning to be a jewish history and a bible teacher. And when I tell you I thought Angel Hare made the name Zagzagel up, I mean that. I don't remember ever hearing anything about him. I don't think you're wrong about him necessarily. But also, his character feels to me more neutral than evil or good. He certainly doesn't seem to care about legends or myths in what we've seen of his character. Maybe in this world, angels are a mix of both? Maybe even though God is one, there might be other deities that work alongside him- good, evil, neutral. Maybe nothing is inherently black and white, like the act of killing a child abuser.
When the Persona 5 music tidbit happened when Francis said "confidant", I froze for a second because I was confused as to where it came from at first lol Love the reference!
We don't have the full picture. There are many unanswered questions about this series. However, we as humans NEVER have a complete picture and Unknowns don't always signify malice. Sometimes, things are hard or even impossible to fully comprehend, and that's okay. I don't believe that Gabby, Zaggy or Francis have ill intent, secrets perhaps, but doesn't everyone? Its obvious that they do truly care for each other and at least Gabby and Francis care for Jonah. This was an incredibly sweet video especially Francis talking Crow down at the end. There is something very human about these supernatural beings and I find that comforting.
Already guessing this goes horribly wrong considering this is Analog _Horror_ but does anyone know any video or story or something with a similar theme of the character talking to the viewer? That scene of her remembering him and holding her hand to the screen at 30:45 was just ridiculously wholesome and sweet and I'd love to see more stuff like that lol! Edit: Well, looks like it wasn't really horror after all. Honestly the series even seems to poke fun at people expecting the worst and expecting to see horror twists in the plot, such as when it seems as though Gabby is about to beat and abuse Francis (even with a dramatic perspective shift) only for the very next image to be a very silly and lighthearted scene of her gently bopping him. Each time things seem to be about to take an abrupt turn into grimdark territory it's immediately prevented. It's honestly pretty funny and a nice change of pace to all these ARGs.
It's so well written that I just noticed she says a lot of people hide things in the kitchen. I thought this was about them Mom but it isn't. It is the dad likely hiding alcohol, putting a disassembled gun with booze is... well you guys are smart enough to figure it out. Then she says not his toy chest so as not to incriminate him... she knows the dad would blame Jonah. and knows that a kid would try to destroy the thing that harmed their parent out of guilt.
As someone who grew up in an unsafe home the beginning really well. Hit home. Like really close to home. Especially about how the closet was a safe space, as someone who often barricaded myself in there to escape. Hell, as Crow was taking about how he found Gabriel’s statements creepy, I just thought about how I’d have just found most of it comforting back when I was in that situation. (Although the faith and god stuff wouldn’t have been for me.) But I think it really says something about how realistically that aspect of the series is written.
I love your content, I was so worried that you were going to ruin angel hare for me. When Francis came on and said what he said, I teared up. Thank you for making a video on one of my favorite series.
Same. I'm the kind of person who has always been ultra sensitive and a hopeless romantic and a total sucker for happy endings, despite life doing its best to repeatedly prove those to be exclusive to fairy tales. That part got me. Really hard.
every theory must darken every installment must dive deeper down the rabbit hole these are the rules of horror people forget that why this genre existed. horror is a storytelling medium. i love this series because it tells a story without making every little detail plunge the concepts, the events, the characters, into even more darkness. things get better, and that's okay. that's great
I know it's not entirely relevant to the plot, but I still love that there's just... a video out there showing Gabby, Francis, Francine, and Zag playing cards. The little detail of them shifting show style if ever reaching across the middle is great, and the music is really nice. Helps characterize them just that bit more.
To dispel some of your worries, if I was Zagzagel and evil, I would try to win Jonah over IMMEDIATELY, acting, or even impersonating Gabriel, trying to replace Gabriel as the greatest influence in his life. But no, even when Zagzagel knows that Jonah has the power to stream them to the world, he puts him aside and makes him stay away instead of immediately trying to exploit his powers. Take of it what you will, I want a happy ending, so uh, yeah. just a little speculation.
The human version of Francis looks like the kinda guy who needs gentle head pats and a hug (he also looks a bit like this one guy who works in the public records section of my local library)
I wish i could give you a standibg ovation- this is one of the best dissections of this series i have watched so far. I can't wait to see what you make in the future.
You know, this Angel Hare series would've stood by itself just fine had it stopped with Jonah reconnecting with Gabby in the first livestream and then just stopping. I didn't know about the stuff involving Zaggy afterwards and now that I do, I think I like it better having seen Jonah getting into contact with Gabby again and then just stopping.
I never actually read more into the "Demon Hare Boxes" line from Francis, I just assumed it was a gag about "TV being the devil" but thinking about it now, yeah, that doesn't track for a self aware TV character.
update after watching. my GOODNESS. all of your videos always strike a very specific chord in me and this one really got to me. you bring a light and life to video essays that i haven’t seen in a long time and your narration is genuinely beautiful. kudos on another banger video, crow :] god bless
Oh man, 1:04:37 I am in tears. Remembering the little moments not always thought about is such a beautiful bittersweet moment. Not everyone gets memories like that it’s a blessing and a perfect human curse.
Probably one of my favorite takes on Gabriel due to how unique it is. I also like how the twist is the entity in this story is actually one of the good guys and not the villain and the villain instead being the main character's father.
Absolutely adore the approach you take to analyzing these series. It’s such an immersive experience. This video was absolutely worth the wait. The ideas of Gnosticism as well as the kinda open (and hopeful) way it ends are gonna be preoccupying my mind for a while. I hope to see more from the creator, as well as you
Thats a pretty dark concept. It's masterfully hidden in the game and the game expects you to think about it, or it doesn't make sense. I am so glad to see you back. Welcome home! : )
Wow. This made me cry. I'm healing from a lot of bad relationships (both romantic and not), learning to trust a partner who truly loves me, and healing from a lot of mental health issues. When you said that it was talking to me, I never expected for it to be so literal. Sometimes it feels like my partner is going to throw me away like I have been before, but the response from Francis about the evidence of them being evil is the same thing my therapist tells me. I'd really like to thank the creator of this series, they are wonderful. I gave you a follow, Crow, and I'm definitely going to be following the creator as well.
To me, Zagzagel represents the fact that not everyone who's good or can help you will be what you expect. Someone might have a different ideology from you or seem strange and offputting to you without being your enemy. Hell, he might not even be an angel in one specific Christian sect's understanding, but because he's helping people with his work, Gabby accepts him - afaik Angel Hare doesn't talk about other belief systems being invalid. (Are there deva hares? Are moon rabbits real in this setting?) Essentially, "Good =/= Nice" embodied. I do like the end bit, I think a lot of people really want there to be a secret evil creature in these things, but there's evil enough in what Jonah was put through as a child. Horror isn't just "scary supernatural creature's gonna getcha!!", and plenty of horrors in real life have a happy ending where people recover and move on.
I REALLY want this to expload in popularity, both because this channel and content is astoundingly high quality, and also because of what Angel Hare means to me. It’s a series that I decided to watch myself in the midst of a depressive episode, something I’m almost always getting pulled back into and drowning in, have been since a very young age. I struggle with feeling close to people and often feel dejected or anxious at the thought of them, so truly colour me suprised at the way this series made not only a human but a hare touch my heart in the way that it did. I cried, genuine tears of love and joy at the end of the angel hare UA-cam videos, the story of Gabby and Johna was somthing touching to me on a deeply emotional level. Gabby is the kind of being that is so profoundly human in good and bad ways but through all that was able to do something most fail to do, help children that obviously need it. She made calls that surely were tough and questionable if they were the right ones but she stuck to her guns because never for a second did her focus drift from wanting to help. I to this day when thinking of Gabby tear up a little, she’s the kind of entity I wish I had, and I’m sure so many others feel the exact same way. Then there is Johna, he reminded me of myself, a kid just trying to be a kid in a world full of hurt, but unlike me and many others he was given the help he desperately needed. He was shepherded by Gabby to be able to grow up properly, to be loved and know it and feel it in your heart to the point it’s more like a feeling in your chest at all times that something that can be conceptualized with any image or word. His love and admiration for Gabby and all she did for him is so apparent and precious and real, I still cry at the video of his reunion with Gabby and she talks about how much he’s grown. I think by now you understand how much this all means to me, from the Angel Hare side, but also there is your channel. I was shilling your channel yesterday to people online because I love it, ur videos, the style, the feel that this is iconicly crowmudgeon, your channel is a gold mine of hard work and love. I have watched ur videos over and over whether to fill the time, want something to grip me, or even to have a nice nap. Your videos are soothing; not exactly sure why but they’re deeply soothing. So in all, I love your channel, and I know love and effort must’ve gone into making this and so I hope it blows up. For this love filled channel’s sake and the wonderful series that is Angel Hare’s sake.
So about the possibility of the third hare... There's actually a design motif called the Three hares that appears as a design motif on churches and as a religious symbol. Its mostly associated with Christianity, but it is also associated with Buddhism. The earliest known occurrence of the symbol was found in cave temples in China dated around the Sui dynasty (6th-7nth century) and the symbol spread along the silk road until it starting appearing in Christian churches. But the funny thing is there's not really been a concrete answer as to what the symbol is supposed to represent. We mainly think it gained popularity in Christianity because it was associated with The Holy trinity, but we still don't know for sure. And Yes, if you were curious it is associated with Gnosticism (I think). But im probably getting some details wrong, so take this with a grain of salt Also great video! The Voice-work really got me immersed and into it! I cant wait to see you cover that series about biblically accurate demons you mentioned too! Keep up the good work Crow!
I really bloody enjoyed this! My daughter (old enough, don't worry) is watching it now, and it's soo hard not to spoil it for her. Can't wait for the next video and good luck on making it to 100k subscribers.
Had to pause an watch the entire original series right quick. Thanks for making these vids, and bringing attention to these gems amongst the infinite, and unscheduled, internet
The ending really highlighted something for me. An this maybe the fact im ignorant to gnosticism. But at the end of the day Zag could Reference it that believe while Gabby is the representation of Christianity. And how religion works is that everyone believes in their own version. You can coincide with everyone and live peacefully. An I think Angel Hare has proven that no all Angalog Horror have to be these pits of despair I love the conclusion 'that things don't have to hurt.' (Legit made me tear up at the end.) Sometimes shit ends up being okay. I think that whats needed sometimes. This video was amazing!
I honestly wish I hade an angel hare, imagine having a friend that would talk to you in a caring and loving way, listen to you and hear your ideas, AND give advice, if only such a thing existed. I wish I wish I had one.
Your coverage of the series has been one of the most emotional ones on UA-cam. Many other people have covered this before. Theirs was informative. Their's was even comical at some point. But yours, yours touched the heart. Thank you.
@crowmudgeon I really enjoyed your interpretation of this analog horror series, I also really enjoyed the discussion of biblically accurate angels and demons and I am surprised that no entry in analog horror has attempted that. Ironically you and Wendigoon are the only two Christian based horror UA-camrs I watch and knowing my intrigue with that whole theme makes it even more enjoyable. I vibe with Francis honestly, it’s hard for me to not feel like him at times especially as of recently, while I am doing relatively good I still feel these negative thoughts and emotions in my day to day life, I hope I can move past them. Anyways you’re honestly an amazing horror channel and I throughly enjoyed this entry and look forward to more, great job, keep your head up and keep going! :)

Hol up
Angel Gabby, patron angel of f**king around and finding out
Here's some food for thoughts, in the gospel of Matthew Jesus is very clear on the punishment for people that hurt children including a good old sleeping with the fishes
Francis's voice suddenly being part of the narration with no warning is probably the scariest thing about Angel Hare that I've seen and this is a compliment
Dude I almost cry every time Angel Gabby mentions how much Jonah’s grown 😭 She just sounds so compassionate and genuine that he’s safe and okay!

There is an Archon who defects to the side of the Monad, but I personally think tying the series to Gnosticism at all is a stretch.

When Francis said 'demon hare boxes' it made me think of how some older folks would call TVs 'the devil box' or something along those lines
Older tv antennas also sort of looked like rabbit ears.
i like how while Gabby wanted to create compassion and safe spaces and Zag wanted to do what he set out to do almost bluntly, Francis was the silver lining the whole time. Relatably dishonest in spite of good intentions, and interested in understanding more than what the angels wanted to teach including information about demons. Was it necessary to go this hard writing such a banger of a story?
Yea he was the middle ground he almost represented most of us tbh
This was surprisingly wholesome story. I think Zaggy was always making you question his motives could be the entire idea of not being judging a book by its cover. He seems and acts distant and brash but in reality he has his own way of caring and wanting to help. Hell he mentioned he feels that hand holding isnt necessary but just explaining things to kids and theyll be able to figure out the rest.

I'm thrilled to get to introduce you to it! Glad you enjoyed!
Wow... that surprise ending got me mind blown. 🤯
What an awesome ride and was definitely worth the wait, especially to hear from Francis again.

1000%
I’m sure you saw this when you were researching but didn’t include it because it’s not particularly solid evidence or resources, but I thought it was interesting and figured I’d mention it)
Also, in regard to the “demon hare boxes” comment about the TVs, I think that actually solidifies they are real angels.
Yea pretty much
She told him how to disassemble it. She wanted it gone... maybe she didn't want the dad shooting Jonah?
i like the idea that gabby knows about specific types of guns. Im sure its because like. she has all knowledge from being an angel, but its way funnier to imagine gabby just also being a gun nut.
Some things to correct:
The demiurge is not necessarily the god of christianity in gnosticism.
I prefer his noir show tbh even as a child a never liked super cozy shi
@@NeyamRye who said anything about cozy. Just hard-core noire, but with a bunny detective
Gnosticism had many sects, but Marcion, who was most often brought up, did think the biblical God to be evil
39:55 I always loved how when Zag is talking about Wisdom, Respect, and Penitence, he tries covering the Faith and Hope text with his wings.
Angel Hare fascinates me on so many levels. Christian Apocrypha, Gnostic Occultism
But it hits me so, so personally as someone who endured abuse. who suffered in the way Jonah suffered.
To believe that the world can be better
The thing that lets us believe in Angels
When even the analog horror entity has STANDARDS.
How do you explain the mysterious flood that conveniently destroyed any evidence that Jonah's father was ever in their home town?
@christopherwall2121 That was what I tough too, because either she did it or Jonah some became a waterbender or smt 💀
@@Ewnothank It's very clear that Gabby will go to any length to protect Jonah, and as the Left Hand of God, those lengths are great indeed.
I assumed she had Jonah do these steps because she could only manifest in the real world in a more "Biblically Accurate" form than her cartoon design, and didn't she want to scare Jonah or draw unneeded attention.
I remember the first time I saw Jonah reunite with Gabby as an adult, and I cried the manliest of tears in joy.

(Although the faith and god stuff wouldn’t have been for me.) But I think it really says something about how realistically that aspect of the series is written.

these are the rules of horror
people forget that why this genre existed. horror is a storytelling medium. i love this series because it tells a story without making every little detail plunge the concepts, the events, the characters, into even more darkness. things get better, and that's okay. that's great
I know it's not entirely relevant to the plot, but I still love that there's just... a video out there showing Gabby, Francis, Francine, and Zag playing cards. The little detail of them shifting show style if ever reaching across the middle is great, and the music is really nice. Helps characterize them just that bit more.

I watched this whole series in one go a while back and it's still one of my all time favorite uses of the medium
Since Angel Gabby has a kids show and Zag has an adults show its safe to assume that the third angel would have a teens show or something in-between
I'm so glad you covered Angel hare! It's one of my personal favourites❤
Mine too!
Thanks, glad to be back 😄
The noise part makes me think of that question "who guards the guardian?". Even the best, biggest, most competent helper needs help at times.
I still think Gabby is a good angel like yeah she did a kill but you know who else did a lot of killing and is considered holy?
GOD
Ah, Deep Stone Lullaby at the 1h mark. Priceless to hear it here.
As someone who's been through a troubled childhood like Jonah, this is oddly comforting yet sad
This is a million-sub level of content. How this channel is under 100k subs is an absolute mystery to me.
We're getting close to 100k nonetheless! Thanks so much!
Hyped beyond words for this! AH has become one of my favourites so I'm super excited to see you cover it!
Bro 2 days ago I was like, damn I wish Crow did a vid on angel hare, I'm not too fond of these other guy's style, and here you are lol
That's crazy dude lol
Literally the best channel I've found yet. Insane work
That's insanely kind, thank you so much
I REALLY want this to expload in popularity, both because this channel and content is astoundingly high quality, and
also because of what Angel Hare means to me.
But im probably getting some details wrong, so take this with a grain of salt
Also great video! The Voice-work really got me immersed and into it! I cant wait to see you cover that series about biblically accurate demons you mentioned too! Keep up the good work Crow!
This story hits so hard for some reason, not to mention the west patch thing blending the line between reality and fiction flawlessly.
Out of nowhere, the Crow is back! Thanks for the vid big man!
I really bloody enjoyed this! My daughter (old enough, don't worry) is watching it now, and it's soo hard not to spoil it for her. Can't wait for the next video and good luck on making it to 100k subscribers.
Glad you enjoyed it! That's insanely wonderful to hear that you and your daughter can share the videos I'm making. That's just so encouraging to me :D
That’s me ah 😂❤
Wow… never thought about this series like this. Great work and I’m loving the new perspective
Had to pause an watch the entire original series right quick.
Thanks for making these vids, and bringing attention to these gems amongst the infinite, and unscheduled, internet
My pleasure!
Crow growing fond of Francis is something I live for
I’ve been so excited for your next upload, and longing for a deep dive of this series! Thank you RARGHHH
I love how you script these! it feels like you're in on the case, y'know? feels more personalized!
I gotta say, I never knew I needed to hear Francis singing My Favorite Things, but that was just lovely
Crow your videos never fail to make me emotional. You’re an amazing storyteller and I hope you keep making your unique analysis videos ❤
Thank you!
I'm only at the 2nd tape so far but I'm laughing so hard at how Angel's looking at the badger like "stfu I'm trying to speak to Jonah"
I honestly wish I hade an angel hare, imagine having a friend that would talk to you in a caring and loving way, listen to you and hear your ideas, AND give advice, if only such a thing existed. I wish I wish I had one.
Aw... Francis quiety singing "My Favorite Things" at the end... ❤️
Your coverage of the series has been one of the most emotional ones on UA-cam.
Many other people have covered this before. Theirs was informative. Their's was even comical at some point. But yours, yours touched the heart. Thank you.
Been waiting for a new video now I’m bouta lay down and watch happily
