Thank you Damian, for indeed making all of your lessons with love. It is definitely not lost on us. From the background on the song, the people involved, the places involved, and the influences involved…. It’s all just incredible …..then the great lesson itself, the tour of the local area, and your words of wisdom. So entertaining, so educational, so inspiring. It’s definitely time well spent (on both sides). Thank you!
You're one of my favourite Rockabilly guitar players. This isn't a comparison but for me you're on a par with Setzer, Eddie, Haley, Perkins, Buddy Holly. Keep on rocking. Stay safe.
Damian's rockabilly lessons are like Cracker Jacks and the little travelogue snippets at the end are like the prize inside. Yes, I am also a fan of Cedar Key and it's really handy to my place up here in Levy County. 😀🎸
Damian, your catalog of lessons is a treasure trove for any guitarist. I can imagine whole bands and setlists being formed just based on the lessons you've provided us. It's an empowering channel for sure! Thank you!
Hi Damian, always clear, thank you 👏👏👏👏. Some months ago i started to learn electric Guitar playng from zero level, with a local teacher, at the age of 72 y.o. I like blues, rock and rockabilly and with you i discovered a world. Thank you For all. 🤗 a great hug from Manhattan, i came from Italy to visit New York for few days.
Damian Bacci is a genuine treasure. Superb musician and performer, outstanding instructor, knowledgeable historian, great storyteller, and overall wonderful decent and loving person. Hooray for Damian!🌟
Sweetwater just delivered my Gretsch single cut hollow body. I decide that life is too short and I need to learn some rockabilly so I'll be tuning into this UA-cam channel a lot. Thanks Damian!
My grandson and I love the music that you perform and teach. We have two of your video's. Man I know that it has to be a lot of time and work but if you ever produce a true beginners video set of lessons I'd buy it. Thanks for your posting.
Another fun lesson and always inspiring presentation. This time, the Cedar Key clip was a special bonus. I have had the Ultimate Rockabilly Guitar lessons for about ten years, and I still have a lot to learn from them. Public Note: Damian has not solicited my comments in any way. He's just a great teacher and a great guy, and I don't mind telling everyone that.
Awesome lesson ! Back in 2020 Hurricane Eta made landfall around Cedar Key as a major tropical storm and then last year Hurricane Idalia did a lot more damage with major high storm serge. Check out the brewery in Gulf Port. Fun little town, and close to home !
Perfect timing.....beginner-ish guitar player and I was looking for an easy Rockabilly lesson after attending Reverend Horton Heat's service on Friday @ Jannus. Bonus: Never been to Cedar Key and it looks like a good get-away weekend trip. Thanks for putting this together and sharing.
Awesome. Hope thje lesson was helpful. In the late 90s & early 2000s my band with open for Reverend Horton Heat when they played in Orlando and in St. Pete. :)
Love your videos Damian - especially the history behind the songs - and the lessons are even lovelier. You've helped me improve my guitar playing so much.
Hey Damian...Watch this lesson on Party Doll yesterday. That's a tune I vaguely remember hearing as a kid. Oddly enough my wife and I went to the supermarket this morning and they were playing Party Doll on the store system. I did listen for the solo, and it sounds like he picked it instead of a pull-off. Anyway, thanks for the lesson, great stuff!
I was 13 years old in 1957 and loved that tune soon as I heard it. Sounds crazy with today's music but it was banned by a lot of radio stations. Lyrics were too suggestive. Good video and as you said guitarists don't need to be flashy to sound good! Jimmy Bowen also had a few hits of his own during that time frame.
I can only imagine how suggestive it seemed back then. Not something Parents would want to hear their teenagers saying. Cheers & thanks for watching :)
Krishna core was a thing, with everyone from Saetia to Orchid touring again Shelter might as well get back together, it’s been over 30 years since I’ve seen them.
I can remember seeing Shelter here in this area about 24 years ago at a large punk venue. There was only 15 people there at best. I felt bad for them. But here's a positive. Youth of Today played Tampa a few months ago and it was a full house! :)
Thank you very much. I can remember it like yesterday even though it was 24 years ago. The Misfits were playing in Orlando and Dr. Chud and Graves walked off stage and quit. The next day I saw them play in Tampa with Jerry singing and Robo filling in on drums. The show was alright at best. About 2 years later my band opened up for Graves. He had a really good band backing him. If I recall correctly we played a bunch of Florida shows with him :)
@@Damianblf Double A Daddy! Your videos are so very helpful. How bout ol Grady Martin and Marty Robbins? Keep it coming. I bought some lessons from you on CD a while back. Had trouble down loading or something and you sent me CD's. :)
Maybe teach Rocket in my Pocket unless you already have. NRBQ version is best, better than the J.Lloyd original. 4:52 Soon as i saw they got involved with ROULETTE i thought uh oh Morris Levy! did they get screwed out of money by him?
Damian has forgotten more on the guitar than I ever knew. He is wonderful
Thank you for watching. Cheers & keep on rockin' :)

Thank you so much for the kind words. Cheers :)
that guitar is so clean and sweet, of course your playing brings it all out. Youre always giving me g.a.s. ! :)
Thank you Tavo. The guitar is like showroom new. It must have ben played a little bit and then sat under a bed for 50 years or so :)
Love your lessons. Damian seems like he would be a super cool hang and friend.

I love all the Graves-era Misfits representation going on here.
And the guitar playing (obviously). ;-)

Hi Jim. It's a 1963 Gretsch Clipper :)

Love it! Steal from you all the time. Do you ever listen to Wayne Hancock?
I was just listening to him on a drive home from dinner the other day! :)
