Everybody, I am not affiliated with Damian, whatsoever. That said, please if you are coming here to see this man's great content, stories and wisdom and aren't subscribed, please consider it. He deserves to get to 100,000 and he is so very close. All these Rockabilly, Swing and Blues lessons and tips are so valuable in almost every spectrum of music you may find yourself in. It is just good stuff. Additionally, his feel good life lessons are just that...they feel good! That's it. Peace everyone.
Hi Damian, Your lessons are very inspiring! This style of playing can be quite intimidating. But your step by step guidance really helps to break through that wall. Thanx! And keep on with the life lessons because our world needs music and kindness. ❤ Regards Gertjan
I like how you explained some of the theory behind the licks, so we can understand WHY the licks work over particular chords, so we can use those tools to make our own licks, but what I really love is a double bound Tele!!!
I remember starting guitar "back in the day" when there was virtually no instruction on how to play in this style. I had a local "guitar hero teacher" who was a great player. He was knowledgeable and "schooled" in music theory. However, when I would inquire about this exact subject, he would give me a bunch of gobbledygook and would not answer my questions that would have led me down the correct path. This guy is literally answering many of those questions I had way back when. I eventually learned a lot of these concepts myself, but it literally took YEARS. Young players have all the info and don't know how lucky they are to get info like this.......for FREE!!! Rock on!
Damian, you are the best. I get so much from all your lessons and you took my already significant love of jump blues, early R&B, and rockabilly - plus all the precursor and ancillary styles - and sent it to the moon, stars, and beyond. Your kindness, decency, and love for all shines through most of all. Thank you for all you do.🙏🏽
Love your playing. Love the music. Love your sage advice. Love you guitar collection (don't love drooling though). What an asset you are to music and society in general. So true what you said about acts of kindness having a ripple effect for the greater good and health of societies. Needless to say, acts of cruelty also have a ripple effect to the detriment of all. Keep being you and know how much you are appreciated!!
Oh yes! Damians attitude is infectious. Great teacher and great lesson. And he's putting it out here for free. Concise and to the point. He's one of the best on YT. I picked up one of his DVDS. Full of great stuff. Highly recommended.
Damian it would great if you revisited some of your lessons from 15 years ago with better hi def cameras and tab that would be a dream come true with you teaching those lessons like you teach today. Thanks Ed
If you've been studying under Damien's Channel as well as committing his DVD course to memory you can almost feel your way through the next lesson with less effort as your skill and ear develops. A testament to such a gifted, patient and thorough instructor. Thanks Damien!
If you want authentic blues & rockabilly with authentic tone and attitude Damian is your man. I’ve got both DVDs too well worth the investment. And he’s an all round top bloke to boot. If I get to be 10% as good as Damian I’ll die a happy man.
Great licks 🤠 Thanks. Also, I had already done some simple acts of kindness this morning while out and about before watching this video. 🙂 You and I are definitely on the same page my friend… I think my upbringing has me hardwired for that, but I also like the reinforcement I get each week when enjoying these lessons and final thoughts. You are doing good work Damian. My guess is you’re touching quite a few people and making the world a better place. Be well. 🤠
Another terrific lesson from an ace guitarist and an even better man. As the Pope once said: have the courage to be kind. Words to live by as Damian reminds everyone here.
Hey Damian I’m up in Jacksonville and love what you do for this type of music and those of us that play and love it as well. Thank you ever so much for sharing with us..
great video Damian - I have played most of those licks before.... but never put them together to form such a good solo. You never fail to impress. THANK YOU SIR ....
I can’t believe I’m just now finding this. Possibly the best teaching style I’ve seen, certainly for these styles. Doin the Lords work, my man! Immediately subscribed and I can’t wait to watch every single one of these videos.
Thanks for breaking down the theory in a clearly explained manner, that helps us beginners understand the “architecture” of the music. I love that your choice words are free from frivolous side-talk. Just the right amount to get the job done. Rick Beato ought to take a lesson from you. 😊 ☮️Brother and thanks for all you do.
Excellent lesson as usual Damian. What would we do without top men like yourself sharing these brilliant guitar tips. Cant wait to give this one a go and pop it into a tune. 😺👍 🎸
Hi Damian! First time viewing something from you. Nice licks! However, what I sensed was a sincerity to what you say & put out. Thanks for sharing. I’ll do my good deed today.
@@Damianblf cheers. Mate Ill pinch the double stop on the 5 chord followed by the "d7" chromatic run... us chord merchants need as many tricks as we can get😁
Hey Damian terrific video with some tasty licks. I can see where I can use a little of what ya got there for a project of mine. Nice Classic Vibe Tele, Original pickups? It sounds hot. Are you playing through an Hardware Amp or a Software Amp? As always, appreciate the lesson.
Everything is stock on the guitar. I'm playing through a Hot Rod DeVille that's mic'd with a SM57. Currently I'm not into using any type of software but that may change in the future. Cheers :)
Great stuff. I'm an ex meta shredder and finger stylist who quit for years because of a nerve injury. Getting back into it now and looking to learn a bunch of Rockabilly. What is the difference between your different Rockabilly courses?
I just wanna Jam all day. learning these licks will eventually fall into place,,,if i put on a Stray Cats CD🎸it'll be faster if I played like ,,Danny B. Harvey ✌🏼

Thank you so much. I really appreciate it :)
Hello, Damián. I’m writing to you from Spain. I really like your lessons. Keep it up.
Thank you so much. Cheers & keep on rockin' my friend :)
This one is REALLY helpful- someone finally details what you play over each of the 12 bar chords
Glad you found it helpful. Cheers & keep on rockin' :)
Exactly !✌️
The lick on bar 7 & 8 is so luscious, inspiring and nifty. Well done Damian.
Thank you :)

Yes it is. :)
Awesome! New sub!

Thank you for the sub. Much appreciated :)
Damian, May I request you teach the guitar solo in the Elvis song “So Glad You’re Mine” ?
That's a good one. One of these days I'll teach that solo and the solo on "Too Much" as well. :)
