I'm one of the strongest people I know, if not the strongest mentally about going about getting things done while feeling like absolute shit. I have a chronic disease. I do agree with Joe, but the woman he is talking to is someone like me who has gone through some absolutely terrible physical problems. Joe has obviously no idea what he is talking about when it comes to health and being able to exercise and how it is absolutely a negative to even try in some cases. I was bedridden. Literally bedridden for years. I crawled to use the bathroom. Any amount of exercise more than that would have killed me. I know that for a fact. What I could do was bide my time. What I could do is imagine myself being healthy enough to where exercise was possible and work on my health through diet and supplements and treatments in the meantime. Any amount of exercise more than dragging myself to the kitchen or bathroom would have killed me. But I never made it an excuse I did what I could. Which is where I DO agree with Joe. 99% of people can do more than they think. That's his point. But for people in my situation and for people in this woman's situation....telling them to exercise is extremely counterproductive. It doesn't do anything positive when you're that fucked up. It makes it worse. And it's also true in less extreme situations that exercise can be counterproductive. What matters for weight loss is mostly diet. People on a shitty diet who exercise their ass off are going to be worse off than those on a good diet who go for a 15 minute walk everyday. And again, for people who are extremely sick, like the woman in this video, exercise is not a good thing a lot of the time. I appreciate what Joe is saying and it's a really good mentality to have for most people....but he clearly has never been really legitimately I'll or on deaths door to act as self righteous as he kinda does here. Still respect the hell out of him and people like David Higgins for having that mindset though. I have it too. That's how I overcame to be ABLE to be in a place where exercise IS now beneficial again for me...and work harder at that now that I can than 99% of people.

I agree, you need to force yourself to do something. I went through a time of significant stress due to a failing business. I was very depressed and anxious. I wasn’t eating or sleeping well, and no motivation. I had very little energy and couldn’t imaging even stepping foot in a gym. But I would walk in the morning and evening. It’s all I could do at the time, but it helped me mentally and physically. I’ve now passed through that storm. I slowly got my self back to the gym doing more intense work outs but it was a process. The point is, don’t stop and just keep doing something.

Joe is right. 4 years ago I was obese and depressed as fuck. I was 140 kg (308,6lbs) and was going nowhere. One day I woke up, brushed my teeth and looked in the mirror and said to myself "ok fatty, enough is enough. Go get your fucking life back" I did that and now I´m at 242,5lbs and I´m feeling great. I get up at 05 in the morning and hit the gym. I ride my bike wherever I got and I hit the gym again at 09 in the evening.

Regardless of what kind of day you have had, working out should be as essential as brushing your teeth. I also like the fact that the workout is something that is honest with me. It doesn't expect and it doesn't complain. It's also one the rare things in this life that you can control. If you are feeling tired that is even more of a reason to train.

Can't agree more. I have CFS and still find the energy to exercise despite being extremely tired most of the time. I was stuck in that shitty mindset and unless you're literally incapable of moving there is no excuse. You don't have to do a lot, get up and walk around the block a few times, do a few bodyweight squats or press-ups. Just get your body moving. It's all mental and people have resigned to living that lifestyle, in denial or unaware of the profound effects you receive both mentally and physically. Once you get past that struggle your days feel so much better. Please, don't say "i'll do it tomorrow", if you get the urge or motivation just go out and do it.

i guess for many people they have a list of priority's. paying the mortgage ,repairing /maintaining there house. the list go's on. the more you have to more you have to do. so i guess it depends were your priority's are. for me i am not rich but i am lucky enough to have the time to hit the bike trail (every day) when the weather is good. in the summer i suffer because it rains every day. and i have a bad foot /ankle condition, i can barely walk. but i have a exersize bike in the house and i need to be on that every day when i can not ride so yes, that's what joe is talking about. no sunshine and fresh air ,just peddle. lol

The excuses are your brains way of justifying your inaction. Just fucking do it, just believe you can and make the sacrifices if it really means that much.

I’m always making excuses and I barley eat. I sit in my bed all day. I want to become a photographer but I don’t want to leave my house because my anxiety is horrible when I’m alone. I wish I could have like a morning/night routine everyday and going to take pictures everyday instead of being lazy in bed...

Don't wish for it, work for it. The only thing stopping you is you, get out of that lazy pathetic life that you're having right now and go chase your dreams of being a photographer...
