Yes, if you can always use the average between the volume obtained in 4 chamber view and in 2 chamber view and that's the measurement you are going to use to index it by BSA
How can I determine the actual left atrial volume from the apical 2-chamber and 4-chamber views? Is it finding the average of the LAV values from the 2-chamber and 4-chamber views or the highest value between the two views?
Very good videos. Kudos to you. I have 2 questions: first is what is the next step after you have the values of atrial volum in the 2 incidence, you ad them and divide by 2? or how ? And the second question is how we index by BSA our structures measurements ? what is the formula for this one? Thank you for your work!
Hello, every country has different guidelines but for the UK (LA vol for females: 20-67ml and LA vol for males: 24-77ml), also you can correct this by BSA.
Sorry but this is not correct. You included the pulmonary vein in your measurement and the length difference should be + or - 0.5 cm between Apical 4 and Apical 2 left atriums.
0:45 BEST WAY TO ASSESS LEFT ATRIUM SIZE BY DOING SIMPSON'S BIPLANE FROM APICAL 4 CHAMBER AND 2 CHAMBER VIEW
✨😊
Wow it's very useful for me. M gonna practice it in every echo now . 😀👍🎉
You can do it! ... Im glad
Firstly thank you! Now, which volume measurement we should get? will we calculate the average of that values?

Very helpful ...many thanks

Measure the diastolic LA volume in both views (2 chamber and 4 chamber) and obtain the average... That will give you the LA Biplane volume.

@@Patalia left atrial volume 4ch + 2ch= LA biplane vol... Now LA biplane vol ÷ BSA= indexed LA vol.
@@the_echo_ladythank you very much!
Love you❤ great video
Thank you!!
Excellent!!
Many thanks!
Very nice thanks
Thank you
It will help a lot if you made a marker drawing like you did for PLAX in the previous video
Than you for the suggestion!
thank u 4 the explanation

very helpful
Thank you 🙏🏻
Thanks !
🙂
Thank you
😍
Thank you but what are the normal values
You have to check the normal values according to your country guidelines and this is different for sex and BSA.
@@the_echo_lady thank you
What is the normal range of LA Volume

I don't think I did it... but thank you for your comment.
What’s happen if my baby has EIF in the left atrium?
Sorry, you should seek medical advice.
Left atrium 3.0cm means
Normal
LA 50*40 means??
My left atrium is 40 mm. My doctor says is fine and my heart looks good but internet says 39 mm is the max for women. Should i worrry?
Also diameter is not the only thing we measure to make sure the left atrium is normal... And everything is indexed by your BSA
You didn’t say anything in your video
No?! What do you mean
