Why This Woman Hired a Bodyguard

- Опубліковано 5 жов 2024
- Real estate agent Brenda Powers is part of a growing trend of everyday people who are hiring security guards through an app called Bond, which makes personal security as easy as ordering an Uber. Brenda said that because she shows strangers homes regularly, she felt vulnerable. The bodyguards are former Secret Service agents, police officers, and members of the military, who you can book for $1 per minute. #InsideEdition

I actually have said that 🤦♀️ my husband and I use to own a indoor RC track and hobby store. Everyday mostly grown men come in and stayed all day racing RC cars, one day a kid whose around 14 comes in with 3 bodyguards, a $200k Mercedes and then charged $400 in the hobby store, of course curiosity got to me and I was like “is he a Disney star, what’s up with the guards” but it wasn’t just me it was all my customers. Then one of the body guards takes my husband aside and tells us he is Sheldon Adelson’s son (at the time he was the 3rd richest man in the world) and not to tell anyone, which my husband replied “well what am I suppose to tell everyone asking especially when your making it obvious your searching areas”
they shrugged, however he became a regular with his guards. He was actually a cute, sweet, polite kid who had a major crush on my daughter but she didn’t find him attractive at all 🤷🏼♀️, but they were all just kids anyways. Looking back I get why he needed guards as they personally told us they had kidnap threats but people like us? I don’t think so.

As a bodyguard, I can def say this is a dream job for many of us who have been in the field for ages overlooking high profile figures. I mean, being assigned to civillians is a dream. No crowds or serious threats from dangerous organizations. No paparazzi. Ofcourse we should never let our guard down but the tension is def much lesser...unless they turn us into errand boys..thats really annoying.😅

In her case as a real estate agent, i definitely agree with her employing a security detail for herself. At an economical charge & ad-hoc on need-to-employ basis n her reasons to have as such, her action does make absolute sense.
I agree. It can be dangerous.
Why is he carrying her bag for her. He is a body guard not the butler.
I wouldn't mind following her and carrying her bag for $60/hours thats a good money without much work i bet he doesn't mind it either
Exactly what I was thinking as well. In one shot it looked like she was making him hold her umbrella. He's a bodyguard -- not a butler or a porter. It's standard good bodyguarding practice to always keep your hands completely free and not holding your client's bags or any other items for them.
He probably is just helping her out. Calm down with the virtue signaling 🙄
I understand feeling vulnerable while showing houses to strangers.
he doesnt look like a bodyguard, he looks like the guy who doesnt want to go shopping with his wife and sits back waiting for her to be finished doing what shes doing

Mine is only here for the treats. The squirrels scare him.
He’s wearing an airpod as an earpiece😭
I think that hiring a guard as a woman or like girl is smart. it's really really dangerous like to the point where you can't trust a piece of paper on your window in fear of being trafficked
Or get a tall boyfriend
I agree with the sentiment of this but being attacked in a different way is more likely than being physically snatched off the street to be trafficked.
true
I agree. Another real estate agent was killed during a “showing”
That's a wonderful idea, I Love it! When my husband's out of town, I've wished for someone, to just walk me to my building. Especially at night, when I'm alone with my child. Just to have someone, that could walk us up to the building, would be such a blessing.
That's so sad😢. Please ask one of ur friends to watch out for u. It's dangerous on the streets.
@luke !!! got my sister one for her 22nd birthday. Nice small gun that could fit in her hands, and came with a built laser. All cities suck.
“ especially At night “

Because is dangerous, she can hire who ever she wants without being famous
I get the reason why she would need him for when shes showing homes or doing open houses but I don't think she needs the body guard all the time
There was a story on the news before about a woman who was also a real estate agent who was murdered while showing a home. Since then I thought wow that’s a really risky job, this woman is smart trying to stay safe and I hope she does.
I know that's right!
I think it’s a good idea to have a bodyguard when you’re showing a house, but to go to the grocery store with one, u have to be an idiot with too much money. It’s a grocery store for Christ’s sake
Obviously this was staged for the camera
She’s lonely

This is exactly the thought that care to my mind.
@Extra unOrdinary I agree she probably had a bad experience in the past.
Sure it sounds funny at first, but I think this is fantastic for anyone in a vulnerable situation. We hear of women in isolated/sketchy situations (like realitors conducting showings, or women with a room/home to rent doing interviews, etc) getting harmed unimaginably. This app was a brilliant idea and I as long as it truly provides the security it claims, then I hope everyone involved makes their bank! Good for them! 👍 Even if someone who doesn’t really need security decides to use it and has the money to do so, or it provides them relief from their anxiety, then who does it hurt? No one.
Making security affordable...very catchy! Rightly named "Bond". Good luck, you have a great team working together to make this happen!
Security in the form of a gun is more affordable
Kim kardashian: gets followed by bodyguard.
Dwayne Johnson: a bodyguards bodyguard
Let me get this straight. This average woman hires a random stranger to protect her to make her feel safe? Makes total sense to me.
Yes a random stranger on whom background check has been done by a security company and whose entire information will be available to police if he tries anything unprofessional and the random stranger is paid good enough to do a part time job.
I will really be scared to hire a person like him and will obviously risk going alone on roads after knowing I have threats.
Wouldn’t really call her average she seems to be doing well for herself if she can afford to pay someone £60 a hour also he’s not a “random stranger” he has a police background soooo do with that as you will
Kind of like when banks hire security guards(total strangers) to protect their money from total strangers. It’s not complicated bro.
@@CS-yn2wg ikr, this comment is dumb.
