      @@RachelleReacts I remember several old songs by them in the same-ish sound. I think people have trouble with it because it is not just a style change but a genre change. They have moved from the best metalcore to alt rock. I am a fan of both genres and this album would fit seamlessly in my alt rock playlist (old Skillet, Breaking Benjamin, Crossfade, Three Days Grace, Sick Puppies, Wovenwar and some of Sum 41) but I was still kind of pissed off the first time I heard it. The difference in quality from their metalcore to this alt rockish sound is noticeable. I would still put it high in todays top alt rock album charts but only because I haven't really heard new alt rock in a while that I liked.

    I agree with your thoughts and glad you were positive. People HATE change but inevitably always get used to it. Just like BMTH people hated That's The Spirit but now fans really like it years later, I see people saying the same thing about Amo now.
    This song is a huge change for the band but I do believe that fans will understand why they decided to write this kind of music. Because this song is a really good rock song, it just doesn't sound like Architects that we know and that's why people don't like it. But it's a good song and that's why I think people will adapt to it, could be years from now that they do.
    That's unless every other song on the album is just heavy and brutal then disregard my comment lol.

    • @RachelleReacts

      Indeed! I was really glad watching your reaction that it seemed to be similar to mine. Sure, not sounding like the Architects that we've known but that doesn't mean that it's bad. Honestly, with these dudes, I have NO idea what to expect when it comes to the sound of the full album now but I'm ready for it.
      I'm really going to laugh if the rest of the album is just heavy as fuck

    Again sounding smarter than me. I agree tho. Style change is a game breaker for most die hards in ANY genre. But change is innevitable with most bands and its a healthy way to be. If ya just keep givin em what they EXPECT u suffer as a creator. Hence why I do gameplays and karaoke. Its for me...and if u dont like it...dont watch 😁

      Just finished your reaction! We're definitely on the same page with it. I am really excited to experience the next era of Architects. This song was very well done and I think our heavy needs will be met too. In their earlier albums they had a lot of clean singing but the industrial/synthy stuff is new. I'm kinda thinking this album might be a mashup of all the styles they've gone through, plus some new styles like this for us. I've gone over every possible scenario for the record in my head so who knows. Regardless of what the sound is gonna be, I'm ready for it!!

    I have heard Architects albums from their beginning, and also seen them live couple of times during their early days. Didn't really think much of their stuff back then, it just sounded quite basic metal core. But when All Our Gods album came out I woke up like "wow this is something really good nowadays!". After that they've been progressing to more straight forward pop-rock-metal, but I really don't mind it. I still enjoy a brutal metal beating (most of the time), but nowadays the actual songs matter more than how it put out, and this is a super-catchy song, really really good!

    I don't think Sam changed his voice, way of singing, still sounds like him, just with less (none) screams. I love his clean vocals and this song is simply amazing, for me it still sounds very much like Architects. And like you said, this is just one song, I'm pretty sure there will be gut-wrenching vocals on the album. And you can't please everyone and I'm sure some fans will not like this, but, I do like it very much and I wasn't even surprised at this. It's almost with all bands the same as they grow older. They don't have the aggression in them anymore being over 30, I've been seeing this with so many bands by now and it's natural. This often results in writing less heavier music. Holy Hell of course still was a heavy album, because the whole band was griefing over Tom, who also was the main-songwriter. So I kind of expected the next album to be very different from what they've been publishing before.
    But, we also know, that Architects dropped their most "experimental" songs off Holy Hell before dropping the whole album. I already thought with Royal Beggars that they will go kinda soft, which wasn't the case in the end. So let's wait and see what the Album itself will sound like. My body is ready af and know that Architects love to surprise their fans. But it's true that this album could be Architects' "That's the Spirit".

    • @RachelleReacts
      @RachelleReacts  3 роки тому

      This!!! "But, we also know, that Architects dropped their most "experimental" songs off Holy Hell before dropping the whole album."
      This is what I've been saying to people. I whole-heartedly believe that Architects is trying to make waves with the most experimental single and that we'll still have a few different styles on the album. But, there's nothing to do other than wait and see! The good news is, Architects has put out a LOT of amazing albums that we can always go back and listen to for that sound. I'm interested to see where this will go.

Then the next album was released and I was kinda disappointed because they seemed to play safe on that record. Can't even remember its name, lol. I don’t get the BMTH comparisons, Sam’s done clean vocals on a number of Architects songs (Royal Beggars, A Wasted Hymn, Memento Mori, Alpha Omega, Doomsday to name a few), the band’s been using Synths for the large part of their discography, all they’ve done on this is change the formula slightly where they’ve pushed the clean vocals and synths a bit further foreword, and the way they use the synths is completely different to BMTH, Architects use synths more for ambience and mood where as BMTH use synths like an extra instrument. To me this still sounds like a genuine Architects song, the riff, the breakdown, the ambience in the synths etc, the change is definitely different but I’d compare this type of change to when Parkway released Vice Grip and then the album IRE, there was some super heavy moments on that record, so I’m confident we’ll still get some ridiculously heavy moments on FTTWTE, trust in Architects
