  • In London, we commemorate important locations with a blue Heritage Plaque. Darkside visits all important Dubstep Heritage Locations across London, to make sure they have one! 🔵🔵
» First location, we head to Shoreditch, to find Plastic People - the former home of Dubstep’s founding night - FORWARD. The venue has overgrown a bit….🌿😂

I grew up listening to early dubstep and dnb
I am extremely passionate about it, someday I’ll travel to the UK and visit these iconic places
Thanks a lot GetDarker, you guys have done an amazing job for so long

big up darkside. loving the homage paid to the history. I moved to London in 2015. Lived there for 5 years mainly out of interest in being closer to the origins of the sound and where the scene was much healthier. Used to visit sights like this, former big apple records and others thinking, am I the only one out here crossing the Atlantic, taking photos outside of a nail salons, explaining the history to the confused locals... likely.
Yep, big apple records is now a nail salon, folks.

Awesome that your doing this m8. Always heard about these locations in old radio recordings and videos going over the history of the grime/dubstep movement, but never really knew much other than that. Looking fwd to the continuation of this series.

Man i miss this place so much, some of the best memories and with some friends who are no longer with us. Every Thursday was when I started going at the tender age of 17. Using a friends brothers ID to get in. There wasn't a vibe like it. Great music, great space, great people, great memories!

I spent a semester in London on scholarship in 2008 mostly just to go to Plastic People because the clubs in New York were awful at that time and I was listening to Untrue 5 times a day. Got there on a Thursday evening, my fellow Americans were baffled I had preexisting plans at some nightclub in the east end and couldn’t do a meet and greet. It was kode9 and the spaceape! FWD!The bartenders always sucked, but otherwise this was the best club I’ve ever been a regular at. Deserves a blue plaque more than most of the assholes that get one
