Thank you Lisa a really fascinating video, Millie's book is a real heirloom treasure for your family, thank you Millie for allowing your mom to share it with us x
Thank you for sharing Millie's dress and book. It deserved a A+ grade. The silk maps were fascinating and the story of Jane's dress. My mum told me, when she was a little girl in war time she was lucky to have a pale green silk dress made from a parachute. The silk was shared in the village. Her mother used to bleach flour sacks and used the fabric for tablecloths, which she used to embroider to make it special.
It will always be an A* for us. It absolutely knocked Millie getting such a ridiculous grade, but then I never rated the teachers ability or knowledge anyways 😆. How fascinating is that for your mum to have a dress made from the shared village parachute, these stories absolutely fascinate me Christine ❤️
I loved this vlog 👗 I always learn something from you… you are part of a wonderful talented family… and you are all A ⭐️ worthy … the 30s and 40s style is so classic and played a big part in fashion history. My parents were born in 1934 and 1938 and they both had older siblings so the first 40 years of this century have always been my favourite. Thank you for bringing history alive Lisa and I will buy your book if ever you decide to write one 🥰
thank you Suzanne, definitely something we will treasure. Jane's dress is so heartwarming isn't it. Loved seeing it in the Museum of Childhood many years ago x
Haya. Wow, this was wonderful. What you are wearing is lovely. Your daughters books & dress are WOW & WOW, treasured forever. So much history, thinking of those who were the living history at the time, tbh we all are. Thanku 'sew' much for sharing. x
Just sums up how lacking in knowledge this teacher was to my mind really Michele, but sadly it knocked my daughters confidence in her work. Head of Department and used to just sit and chat with her favourites, hey ho 🤪. Thankyou so much, it really is such a beautiful sketchbook. ❤️
Thank you so much for this episode. I could feel the emotion when you spoke about the dress and the wonderful book. My mum was married in 1944 and borrowed her dress from a neighbour. No choice there!, but nevertheless it was a wedding dress and all the more poignant as the neighbour's husband was a prisoner of war. I loved the 'workings out' of the dress, seeing the inspiration too. Definitely under marked!

That dress is wonderful and so clever definitely deserved an A+ x
Thank you so much. Yes the teacher marking it was biased and had no idea what she was looking at I believe. X
I cannot believe this only received a B. I am astounded at the beauty of her visual diary.
