@@Samanthalovestosew so thrilled to hear you did Samantha, thankyou 💖 it’s such a gripping tale isn’t it. Mrs Danvers character always fascinates me, I think a writer exploring hers and Rebecca’s story more would be fascinating. I love how Julian Day chose Kristen Scott Thomas’ blouses to change in colour as the film progresses to show how Mrs Danvers wears her grief like a bruise. It’s all so fascinating the decisions a designer makes. 💖

Hi Lisa, I really enjoyed this episode as Rebecca is one of my favourite films, have watched the original version many times, loving the fashions and styling. Rebecca’s wardrobe was very powerful so I agree with that picturing a character through their clothes is a good way to visualise. As I am a knitter mostly I have tried my hand at making clothes… I made a pair of 40s trousers years ago having made my template out of calico to get the right fit through to cutting out the fabric and sewing the side zip in, didn’t have enough fabric for buttons. Unfortunately I never finished them so they are now in storage and they probably do not fit anymore all I need to do is give them a large hem for turn ups and they will be finished, perhaps one day I will finish that project. I also went to a class locally and managed to cut out some pieces for a pretty blouse with rever collar I dug it out of my wardrobe last weekend and as they were creased I pressed the pieces, maybe I will pick that up again one day…in the meantime I will continue knitting. You will be my inspiration to pick up dressmaking again, love all your recent projects for blouses and dresses. Keep up the good work!!!

@@MarckKnitwear Hi Michelle, so interesting that money was spent on a character not in the film to create the illusion isn’t it. So glad you enjoyed watching. I think it sounds like the blouse wants to be finished, a perfect thing to go with your beautiful knits. I always like the balance of having the two as I’m slow with my knitting but sewing is quicker. Maybe one day you’ll get to sewing again, but for now keep on enjoying the joy of knitting 💖

More struggles for young girl who eventually marries older man after his wife burns the house down. Think that pretty much sums it up. Bit of misery and soul searching on the way too. 💕
