BD is the most UNDERRATED drummer of all time. Think I said ‘overrated’ on the video when I talk about the Live Killers EP. What a mistake. Sorry! Love Brian Downey.
Saw them in 1974 in Bangor co.down, there now is a mural in said town which was taken from a picture of the four members in a rowing boat that where readable available to rent to locals and visitors to the sea side town.
I was lucky enough, like you, to see them in 79. Absolutely one of my greatest concert memories. My faves would be Emerald, Don´t believe a Word, The Rocker, Waiting for an Alibi and Jailbreak in no particular order. All sublime songs that I feel totally blessed to have in my life......
Great collection Chris. I'm listening a lot to Lizzy at the moment, also reading the authorised biography of Lynott by Graeme Thompson, very illuminating!
Great top 40 great to see a wild horses track I also have the farmer with a mid-spelling of lizzy mine says Lizzie on Parlophone label.sade also did a beautiful version of still in love with you
Great video, I saw Thin Lizzy many times in the 1970’s first saw them on their return from America when The Boys Are Back In Town went massive they did a ‘thank You’ one off at the Hammersmith Odeon, also saw them on Jailbreak, Johnny The Fox and Live And Dangerous tour, Bed Reputation tour and I actually saw Thin Lizzy without knowing who they were at a free concert in my local town park I remember they played Whiskey In The Jar not sure what year but I’m sure they were a three piece band then, could be wrong. 🎸🎸⚡️
Great TL collection thanks for sharing - Still trying to complete my TL album collection - I remember buying Phil Lynott's 'Nineteen' single back in day Brill song
Before my love of the Stranglers! There was Thin Lizzy heard Alan Freeman play the Rocker that was it! It doesn't matter about the order Chris I am happy listening to that voice of Phil as well as Lizzy! Back on the Streets by Gary Moore a favourite album! Hang on who's on this album?? 😆 brilliant Chris!
Hi Chris, I was never a lover of Thin Lizzy but I can understand why people did. That Greedies Xmas song, I first heard it on the Kenny Everet Show. Steve Jones looked really stoned, as he normally did around that time. Can't wait for the next video... Maybe Motorhead, who I saw 3 times, even my feet tingled because of the vibrations through the floor.😂
Haven’t got enough motorhead to show. Their self titled first single was my prized possession back in 77. Seen them three times - great live band. Seriously loud although not as loud as Bon era AC/DC were. Cheers, Chris
Sorry to be a nause mate but I had to point that out, your right he’s an amazing drummer who rarely gets a mention in polls, keep the videos coming mate👍👍
They’re a real singles band tbh - that’s why there’s so many of them. I’m a completist with them and I do have their whole discography bar new day ep. Bobby Tench had a lovely voice. He’s on Beck’s rough and ready album The no.1 is one of the best rock singles of all time. Love this band. Thanks for watching Dale, chris
Chris, just out of interest is there some way of telling which solos were played by Scott and which by Brian? Is there a left-right thing going on with the stereo or something?
Generally the solos are done by Brian Robertson. On On live and dangerous Brian comes out of the left and Scott out of the right speaker. Brian Robertson is always heavy on the wahwah pedal
Noticed you made several little mistakes here like the one you mentioned down below Downey being overrated drummer. Wild One being from Nightlife and so on. I think i disagree with several, but let's say I'd put Yellow Pearl at 39 (i agree Farmer being the worst), i think it's awful and it's on TWO albums. The Sun Goes Down, i don't like the single version at all because they have edited the intro on it. Dedication was a Grand Slam demo recording from which the other's contributions were removed and Brian and Scott overdubbed their parts on to it. I only heard about the lawsuit regarding the songwriting credit about 2-3 years ago. Nineteen is a Phil solo recording. Grand Slam never released anything until a couple of years ago there was newly recorded (and partly new songs) album. There were Grand Slam demos released about twenty years ago. I haven't heard the Wild Horses song you mentioned, but i thought their album was rubbish. There are many Thin Lizzy singles that i'm missing, but out of those I'm only missing Jailbreak with a picture sleeve also Wild One and Gary's Back On The Streets with a picture sleeve. Don't have any of the other related singles. Great video. Pasi
See pinned comment from me about my mistake - BD is very underrated of course! Which ones are you missing? Except for New Day ep I showed their whole U.K. discography. What were the other mistakes? Thanks for watching and commenting Pasi. Cheers my friend, Chris

So glad you cleared that up, Chris, I was about to unsubscribe.😀
Not sure what happened there. Attack of the olds. Love BD

Wow brilliant!

Adore this band

Absolutely brilliant band
There couldn’t have been any other at number one brilliant 🙏
Absolutely!
Great top 40 great to see a wild horses track I also have the farmer with a mid-spelling of lizzy mine says Lizzie on Parlophone label.sade also did a beautiful version of still in love with you
Forgotten about Sade version! Wild horses were great live, but really average on record
Very interesting video.
I would include Kings Call.
Dancing in the Moonlight is my favourite.
Didn’t include it as I couldn’t find it! Thanks so much for watching Jim

You are a very lucky fella. They were a brilliant live band. Cheers Steve, Chris
Great TL collection thanks for sharing - Still trying to complete my TL album collection - I remember buying Phil Lynott's 'Nineteen' single back in day Brill song
I haven’t got the first two. But then again I don’t want them tbh
You have a real collectors item with the Thin Lizzy debut single 'The Farmer'(1970), it sold about 300 copies, so very rare indeed.
Sadly it’s an unofficial release
I would have Little Darlin' in my top 5. That 12inch live EP is a proper showcase, stunning choice.
Great guitar on both
Killer on the loose my fav excellent collection
Great track from a really good album
Thin Lizzy are fantastic there's nobody like them angel of death, hey you, cold sweat and Johnny are a few of my top favorite thin Lizzy songs
Distinctive and brilliant

Love the band. Big part of my youth

My single version of Out in the Fields has Military Man on the B side which is great also but has a dreaded key change before the end.
Don’t mind that bit!
Another great video and collection of 45’s….surely at minute 16:36 you mean Downey is under rated not overrated or did I mis hear?
Just played it back! Bloody hell what did I say. UNDERRATED!! Doh!! Thanks for pointing out!
He’s just amazing
Sorry to be a nause mate but I had to point that out, your right he’s an amazing drummer who rarely gets a mention in polls, keep the videos coming mate👍👍
had to be number one, a classic
Indeed it is
I don't think of Lizzy and singles so you did well to come up with 40. I'll need to look into that Bobby Tench single. Good top choice...

Amazing knowledge of an incredible band and body of work - surely you meant Brian Downey most underrated drummer ?
I did!!, see pinned comment. What a mistake to make!!
Chris, just out of interest is there some way of telling which solos were played by Scott and which by Brian? Is there a left-right thing going on with the stereo or something?
Some albums say first solo second solo. Cowboy song for example
Generally the solos are done by Brian Robertson. On On live and dangerous Brian comes out of the left and Scott out of the right speaker. Brian Robertson is always heavy on the wahwah pedal
Dancing in the moonlight ?
You must have skipped past it. It was there
It was at no. 11
The Rocker....turn your amp up to 11
So different to the other stuff they did at that time
I disagree with you over the 1st lp i really like it...saga of the ageing orphan...great
Can’t stand the first two. In fact for me they don’t get going until fighting
