The stock pieces don't have double stick tape, that's just a gasket running around it. So you don't need a heat gun to remove it. You don't need the heat gun to install the new one. There's no need to heat up double stick tape.
This is inspiring me to do this to my X3 M40i that I just got. Not really digging those cerium gray pieces all over and plan to change them just like you did.

I ordered these from the factory on my 2022 M40i Black Sapphire extended shadowline on black rims on black leather on shadowline lights. Actually they're "port installed" accessories along with the spoiler. Strange when theres no port for the X's. We'll see where it goes. It left the factory today.

You have a M, you can use M badges on side vents.
Do you have to have a heat gun? Can you do it without it?
I need to get these done on my 2019. Wonder how to swap out the few bronze ish items by the fog lights.
I’ve looked into doing those. Gloss black ones were expensive from what I’ve seen. I think it’ll be more cost efficient to just wrap those pieces
