Genius, Brad forever. Noticed the bench so low. Never seen his knees at that level. Just an observation, does this help sound and touch?

Gould style. I think it depends on what piece and what way the technical approach to that piece is. I find that changing the height of the seat changes your distance to the keyboard and therefore your level of depth with it. That alone changes the weight you can distribute on the keys. I would find it much harder to play Chopin sitting low with the wider array this music uses, rather than baroque which tends to be more tenuto.

Bach should ALWAYS be played with RUBATO! The metronome, likely created after the industrial revolution, is a tyrant. The 20th Century pianist everybody will remember is Bill Evans, from amongst classical and jazz players. Just ask Volodos! I would love to hear Mehldau and Gidon Kremer play Bach together. Can Kremer play JAZZ? How loose can he get?

The metronome is the equivalent of a ticking clock. And it feels good when the timing is precise.
It’s a different thing that - one has to groove w the metronome, making it feel like a dance and not become a mechanical slave to it. And that takes practice.

Someone is revealing their lack of education and narrow-mindedness, but I don't think it's Brad...
