Yay! You really are one a roll with producing videos! 🎉🤩 Just layed down with backpain, ready to watch some older content of my favourite plant UA-camr for the thousandst time 😉, when I saw this new video! Best way to end a Long day! 😎👍
By the way how is your Aglaonema Pictum Tricolor? Mine lost all its leaves and the stomp is now in my prop box. I just didnt understand what it needed from me. 🤷🏼♀️ Well, you save some you lose some. 😉
Begonia sp. Miri is my favourite amongst your begonias, the leaf shape is so interesting and the shine is gorgeous on camera. 🙏 I humbly accept this offering of 3 videos in a week
I love the long videos, I always do some plant chores while watching, including catching up on watering... so this week my plants are super hydrated! 😂 I really hope the root mealybugs mystery gets solved and it's not catastrophic!! 😩 and please do tell us about the new channel when the time comes!
ooooh I am helping with the watering! (even though I am not doing any myself :D) Maybe now we can say I am actually good at watering? Right? :D I really don't even want to solve the root mealybug mystery, they just need to perish. And, I will most likely share the new channel(s) once there is content up there :)
WOW!! Three uploads! Love it! I’ve been binge watching some of your past videos while I did plant chores and cleaned up. ☺️ I honestly prefer the longer videos. I just binge watched a bunch of your videos while I did plant chores. Doesn’t matter if I already watched them. 😂 I am not happy with my current plant collection in the sense of grow ups. I need to work on that. I also need to get things organized, cleaning, plant and house stuff. I actually love my collection, just need more time in the day. My daughter should be home so time after Christmas so I really need to get things completed. On the topic of mealies, I am convinced that if you speak of them they appear…the appearance out of thin air. 😡
I am impressed that there is even time to rewatch older videos considering there are soooo long :D THANK YOU :D I love most of my plant collection as well, but I would like to refine it a bit :) So that is going to be 2025 goal :D As I think it is clear I simpy won't manage to do it all before the end of this year :D
@ YES!! I listened to you for hours while I mixed up soil in my bins, pest checked and did some watering, cleaned used pots. I still have a lot to do before my house is “organized”. I think it will be fun to watch you refine your collection. I started giving away a few plants here and there a couple of months ago. One of my problems is that I propagate almost everything. 🙄 it’s a vicious cycle 😂
Hope you have a lovely day Miro. I love long video and rewatch Hoya videos. Hope i help your community. Thank you for taking time making long videos to us💖
I like your long videos very much but there are content creators that bore me to tears with their long videos. I do no chores while watching you, I am usually in bed relaxing. I pot my orchids in exactly the same substrate as you, they love it. I admire your tender heart.
I love your eye roll shirt! I also like the long videos. I often break up the viewing into a couple of sittings. But it’s always nice to visit with you. 🪴
I'm so glad you mentioned the orchid roots (scissors have been put down)!! That's why I enjoy your channel so much. I can trust all of the information and I learn so much (including many many new Hoyas that must be purchased lol🤑💚).
haha :D Yes, PUT THEM DOWN! :D They take months to grow roots, especially those juicy Phalaenopsis roots or Vandas. So to just cut them is... :S I mean, most of other houseplants grow them much faster so that is a different story.
Loved this long video.. I don’t use Facebook or TicTok. I don’t even really watch the shorts on UA-cam. I have my few favourite people and get all I need from them. Miro your informative and entertaining.
I'm happy with 'most' of my dozen Hoyas since I don't have room for more. I finally gave up on my dischidia ovata watermelon starter plant since it just sat there doing nothing....goodbye, I won't miss you! My multiflora is not impressing me either but I continue to wait. Even tho it's December, most my plants are continuing to grow but I have yet to be blessed with any flowers. It's an interesting experience to say the least.
I love your videos , your chats and comments, Great fun Miro. My son took his driving test in Norway. 60 000 kronor!!!! and it took ages!!! The driver in Sweden needs to do test before they can instruct you. Anyone else no. Hate moss and do not mix leca in the mix. Plants great, love them.
OH MY LORD THAT IS 5000€ 😱 These people need to get a grip 😆 1000€ here is insane too, that is above average salary. They just need to stop. Here, no one except the instructor can instruct you. Moss is great, I will die on that hill 😆

I am really far behind in getting ready for Christmas, so -- to prevent me from completely losing my sh*t -- the plant stuff has to take a backseat. Once things have settled down, my big project is to get a handle on my (badly) neglected orchids. You and Dave (Sober Plant Guy) have inspired me. I'm going to repot all of them and get them cleaned up and straightened out. TBH, I'm half-expecting them to die from the shock of actually getting decent care, but we shall see. At least I'd be able to say that I tried. BTW, I almost always do exactly what you were doing at the end . . . I make just slightly less potting mix than what I need and then try to convince myself that I can get away without making more. haha.
Really appreciating these frequent uploads during these literally dark days 😊 Good to hear that you passed the test! Thanks for the update Not yet happy with where I am at with my plants. I came to a very similar conclusion - I have some boxes with plants that I have been moving around daily, and to be frank, I’d love them gone (plants included). Now, maybe not ALL of the plants from those boxes, but there are some in the tents that I could see getting rid off…. So yes for this goal! I am so glad to hear I am not the only weird one about potting mix combinations :D And omg, there was moss on my nose too! I know Pink Dream has pink flowers, that is why I wanted that one :D I can’t even imagine how good they will look! :D Yeah, this is the issue with advice in general - people who don’t have much experience feel so comfortable giving advice on something, which is so odd to me. @ Anything you don’t love…. If you can rehome it (or get rid of it in any way), it will give so much relief! I notice that “we” (= people who love plants) often really see our plants as “collections”, but maintaining those “collections” takes so much time/energy (work). Maybe “we” should have more “curated collections” so that they bring more happiness feel less like a chore. Thats what I am working on currently, but it is so hard 🤣 (Though I love to see plantchore vids 😅) Your humbleness is commendable. You are very experienced though, so you know what things you can give advice on 😊 Generally, if people manage to keep plants alive or manage to grow a leaf or two they usually think they know how to look after a genus, I don’t blame them for that, they just like houseplants…. The problem is how their “knowledge” is percieved… or if they tell it as facts 😅 I like learning about other peoples experiences, there is a lot to learn from it… but really… look at the plants, they tell what actually works or not (and I wish people who are new to plants would know that, to look at the plants) And yes…. People who give advice about things they don’t know much (or anything at all) about…. is very annoying…..
I love your long plant chores videos. But I found your channel by your one-Hoya-a-video videos, because I searched for the latin name of the hoya. So if there will be more of them, I will not complain! I also love that you are making chapters in the videos, especially in the long ones
Sadly, those really don't perform well. Perhaps putting several Hoyas in a video and spotlighting them could be the solution, but I am thinking of simply doing couple of videos like that per month on Patreon :)
I've tried sybotanica and really liked their stuff! For my base mix i use dehydrated, but buffered, coco fibre from wexthuset in sweden. They also sell new sealand spagmoss.
Coco fiber, as in coco peat? I use Plagron, that is also buffered (but not dehydrated). Ecuagenera also has NZ moss (Besgrow) but it does cost a bit more than the OrchiMoss :D I find them very similar in quality though.
@BasiePlants After some googling I'd say it's the same as coco coir. Much fluffier than the peat, but not as chunky as the sybotanicas coco husk. So. Many not as revolutionary as I thought 😐.
I really enjoy your video, so friendly, refreshing, simple, honest 💛 I love long video I start and I work in the same time, or do thing in the same time, a bit like a podcast. If this give you more money too, yeah very cool thing! I work a lot to finish the year 3 videos a week from you is the perfect timing! Take care of you 💛 Question, you prefer pumice or perlite, I have the impression pumice in my mix not made a fun texture of soil, maybe it’s me too 😆 The other day, I saw a video from a plant influencer, it was my first video (and my last)! He said so much bullshit that it gave me hives 😅
So, I use pumice with bark and moss and coco husk. I dont' use it with any type of "normal" mix with coir or peat or anything similar in texture, because yes, I find it weird too. Almost as if it makes is more wet? I am not sure. However, I have a friend who does mix pumice with regular potting mix and she is very happy with the results! hahahaha I am sorry about the hives! :D We are spicy today! :D
@ I am not crazy, good new 😆 exact same feeling about pumice, impression of more wet and more dry at the same time ahah. Interesting to know this not do that with other type of ingredient, I will keep this for my other type of mix 💛
I would say that I'm pretty good now with plant's chores but sooooo overwhelmed. I love them but with sickness, moving my husband's father house, winter difficulties with plants, .. I'm just tired.. and so late with my household chores. It seems impossible to be just right with both.. 😅 Still passionate by my collection but tired. I think to downsize my collection. I saw the 6 questions video of Fern recently and it could be a good start to do it. I've now a good hundred plants (without cuttings I want to sale) and it's more than enough.. but there are so much plants I see and I would like to add to my collection (mostly hoyas 😊) so I have to make choices..
I saw that video as well! I think I am going to do something similar but like with 50 plants hahaha :D It is SERIOUSLY a lot, especially when you have other things going on. Like, you can't be moving, you can't get sick, you can't have another hobby (at least nothing TOO consuming), not if you have 400-500 plants :D And while I LOVE my plants, I don't want to be a prisoner of my collection and making videos also takes time & I enjoy it :) I also think doing something like - growing a plant out and then blooming it and deciding whether it can stay or go, is the way ahead.
@BasiePlants Totally agree with you. Your last idea has always be mine but I struggle when it's time to let them go 😅..... but I have a feeling it will be less and less. Some of them bore me and I've decided that I no longer have the time or space for those who don't like it here. By the way, I don't understand how you manage to grow so much plants and still find the time to film, edit, etc.. All that stuff are so time consuming. On the other hand, I think that I'm too perfectionist: they are all on pebble trey, I control pH and oversee new leaves unfurling by misting those ones and... I do too much by fear of loosing one of them. I just can't say: "That's OK, it's just a plant". They are living beings and I feel responsible for them. Sometimes, I find me rudiculous, other times so proud to grow them as good. What a strange hobby this is..As rewarding as it is despairing..🤣 Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for all your work and encouragement. Keep on educating us (and making me want to buy more and more hoyas 😂😂😂). Ps: My husband is a driving instructor... So we listened very carefully to your complaints 😉.It's always interesting to learn about the rules in other countries.
Susie is the name of a friend from Switzerland who sent them over. If you type in "self watering pot" on TEMU, they come up at the top :) At least for me :D
@BasiePlants @BasiePlants I don't know about now, but we were given a learner's license and were allowed to practice with a licensed driver who was over a certain age. I think I had to do like 100 hours before I could take the test for my license.
I have never seen orchid roots. Those roots are so big! Wow. Love the extra videos. Maybe you dont need to edit?? That would save you some time. Just an idea.

Take care of you 💛
Question, you prefer pumice or perlite, I have the impression pumice in my mix not made a fun texture of soil, maybe it’s me too 😆
The other day, I saw a video from a plant influencer, it was my first video (and my last)!
I am happy with my small collection the only problem is space and I want more plants I want a dragon scale then I will stop maybe…. lol! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
What a strange hobby this is..As rewarding as it is despairing..🤣
Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for all your work and encouragement. Keep on educating us (and making me want to buy more and more hoyas 😂😂😂).
Ps: My husband is a driving instructor... So we listened very carefully to your complaints 😉.It's always interesting to learn about the rules in other countries.
I'm in America and I learned how to drive on my grandpa's tractor 🚜
hahahaha that is amazing actually :D You need a special licence here for that :D
Create the long content friend! I love watching!
I am gald to hear it
sp. Miri….almost as lovely as sp. Miro. 😘
Did anyone get where he got the self watering pots? Susie? I tried looking that up and couldn't find anything. Thanks for sharing your video.😊
Susie is the name of a friend from Switzerland who sent them over. If you type in "self watering pot" on TEMU, they come up at the top :) At least for me :D
@BasiePlants oh. I'm sorry. I must have missed that. Thank you for sharing.🌿😊
I prefer the long videos! Typically if a video isn’t at leastttt 20 minutes I won’t watch it. Unless it’s one of my favorite people of course haha 😂
"Bye bye" me to my sanity 😂
The process of getting your driver's license is bananas! Though, maybe we need more regulations in the US
I think some parts of it are a bit strict though, I would definitely love to get more driving lessons that are perhaps not only with an instructor.
@BasiePlants @BasiePlants I don't know about now, but we were given a learner's license and were allowed to practice with a licensed driver who was over a certain age. I think I had to do like 100 hours before I could take the test for my license.
Miro, this driving test process sounds absolutely insane!! Are you guys all race car drivers???!! 😂😂😂
Hahahaha :D DEFINITELY not, but I think in most of Europe the process is the same :D
How will we be able to subscribe to your new channel if you keep it a secret!
This is an excellent point 👆
You will have to pray to the algorithm Gods! :D Or maybe I will share it 😂
Through digital Osmosis. Of course
I’m kinda over the upright Phylodendrons. They’re just ehh for me.
I have never seen orchid roots. Those roots are so big! Wow. Love the extra videos. Maybe you dont need to edit?? That would save you some time. Just an idea.
WE WELCOME THE 20255555!!!! 😭 😅
There is almost NEVER a good time to repot Alocasia…. 🤣
You make me laugh out loud at least twice and that is rare during a plant video. BTW, no one is looking at your forehead
Well NOW we are 😂
