- As the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary on the 29th April 2021, Grant discusses his memories and experiences with Prince William and Kate Middleton from his time as a butler to Their Royal Highnesses, the Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall.

What a great testament to our Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The smiles aren’t for show in public, this is genuinely who they are. Who better to offer an opinion, the people who work for them behind Palace doors. Their kindness and respect they show their staff is so revealing.
So lovely you use the phrase “former member of the team” rather than “ex butler”. It gently demonstrates your closeness to the individuals. I like to think they appreciate your loyalty and discretion.
William reminds me so much of Diana not just his facial features but also in his mannerisms, charm and personality which makes him have a natural ease with people. Catherine, who has all the same lovely qualities herself, has been a perfect addition to the royal family. Together they have a sort of magical aura which emanates from them.
Lovely to hear a staff member speak so highly of Will & Kate behind the scenes and their genuine kindness. They seem to be embracing their work with grace and dignity along with navigating modernization of their future roles. Let’s hope the monarchy survives King Charles.
You obviously had a good working relationship and they seemed to trust you. We are fortunate to have them as future King and Queen.
Kate , if anyone deserves the "fairytale life" , it is you and William ! You just beam of class ! I believe that you two are so deserving to be seated on the throne !

William obviously learned well from what Diana tried to instill in them about respecting all people. He is well grounded and doesn't consider himself above others. I think they will make a wonderful King and Queen.

As one viewer said that people of privilege will be select in who they trust as their Butler. This is such a complement to you as The Royal Family felt confident in your discretion, sincere caring and values. The wedding tin is such a lovely keepsake how wonderful.

When William visited the people involved with the Grenfell fire, and he put his arms around that lady, who was inconsolable. That showed me what a caring person he was and is. And Catherine when she spotted one of the nurses that had looked after her, when having one of her children. She went up to greet her. Pure Class.👍👍👍
I am American born and raised, but somehow feel a deep connection with the UK. The royals have always held my respect. Most especially HMTQ and Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburg and their children and grandchildren. What an absolutely amazing position you were honored and privileged to hold. I am 60 years old and would still be honored to hold a position in the royal household, even to just clean the Louvre. Seems to me the royals know how to be human, normal flesh and blood people; yet know how to behave in each of their prospective roles when it’s necessary. I so enjoy your remembrances of being a part of this beautiful family.

I’m a kiwi, and was raised with an appreciation of our monarchy and the fact that they’re truely the living embodiment of any kind of heritage I could claim..to watch William and Harry and then Kate grow to represent the next generation. I am an American, and I really enjoyed your recognition of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on their 10 year anniversary. I visited London two weeks before their wedding and I purchased a lovely blue velvet and faux pearls souvenir in the shape of a heart with their initials engraved on it. I had it professionally framed in a shadow box case and put it on display on my sofa table. It is lovely. Thank you. 😊

They come across as very humble people. It's so refreshing especially when so many Brits are so snobbish when they have actually nothing they can talk about.
As an American, it was explained to me that "the British,' or "Brits" are a specific political entity among the countries comprising Great Britain. English family members, Scottish, Welsh or Irish as people of their respective cultural patterns and languages, may be recognized as down-to-earth, witty, compassionate, brave....
However, to refer to "the Brits" is an entity more comparable to what in the US is referred to as "the 1% globalist" - not really part of any one country's cultural identities.... When Lady Diana was Princess, she clearly strove to keep her children aware they would be Englishmen too: noble but not without the common touch; more heartfelt Royals who could evoke the affection - not just respect or loyalty - of people to be served.
If this is incorrect, please clarify.
ohh...yes the most underserving people who all of the sudden find themselves in to riches and fame are the ones that go crazy.... all that goes to their heads....and what's worst they think it is because of them as people...they don't understand that people defer to them for their position and status, specially if they marry in to it.
Kate grew in a goof family, with solid values and she was well brought up, and she seems she has a good head over her shoulders. She seems yto have all the qulities needed not only for a good marriage but for a good queen, she seems to have certain quiet dignity about her, and I think she will be William's strength.
Yes they appear humble, as many British people are... I'm British, have yet to meet any fellow Brits who are snobbish... I believe it can be more about values rather than snobbishness
@@rmp7400 That's one sided opinion. In fact studies show that ethnic minorities are more likely to identify as British rather than English etc. So denying that Britishness exists is racist.
I grew up in Canada (we sang God Save the Queen) in school :-) and now reside in the USA. I’ve always had a connection and affinity with the Royal Family. My mother who is German always had a fondness for the Queen and Prince Philip (perhaps due to his German heritage). I saw the Queen and Prince Philip in WIndsor Ontario in the early 60’s when they visited on their yacht HMS Brittania. I love your videos. You seem so genuinely respectful of your duty and the royal family, I can see why they trusted and like you.

I think that you are one of the very few who have worked for the Royal Family of England who has spoken out, who isn't trying to give away their big secrets, and it's clear that with everything you say that you wouldn't say anything that would hurt them or give away their privacy, which I think is only honorable. Everyone deserves privacy, and our Royal Family (I say our because I am from and I live in the commonwealth of Canada, and I grew up in a very royalist family, especially my grandparents, plus my heritage is Scottish and British from both sides of my family) deserve their privacy too even though much of their lives are on display. I am glad that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have privacy as a family and that expecially their children do now. I lived in the UK while on a postgraduate scholarship for a year in Manchester in 1986-7, right after the Royal wedding of the Duke and Duchess of York, and I loved my time in the UK and it was difficult to leave and return to my graduate studies in the US, I enjoyed being there so much. I'm curious as to why you decided to leave the royal service, and what you do now besides give some interviews on this subject. Thanks so much.

England, (Bideford/Devon) is the birthplace of my Grandmother, born 1900, she came to the USA in 1921 to live. I have many ancestors from England, Scotland, Ireland (& Germany).
I didnt realize how important Englands history was/is after watching "The Crown". G-d bless the Queen for being accountable to G-d & sticking to His ways of righteous living.
Praying for her future offspring to follow G-ds ways as well.

I can see a lot of Diana in William I can remember them as small children as a friend of Diana she thought so much for the children nothing mattered as long as the kid were OK that maked Diana happy she had so much love for those boys we all who know them have so many memories I remember when they came home from Australia when William was a baby and Diana got him the Kangaroo I don't know if he has still got it he loved it don't forget Charles is not a young bunny is he

Kate has the gift of being a Princess/Queen. You could see the love and how proud her family has for her. You can just see how a genuinely real and kind person that she is. I just love her and wish her the best. Prince William is one lucky Prince!!! Prince William married into a good family and family values that Kate grew up with.
