This is lovely. Little glimpses at the royal family that are respectful and affectionate without any laundry involved. You deserved to be a member of the Royal household because your own family instilled a sense of loyalty, discretion and deportment. Thanks from the US for sharing your experiences.

Thank you for your eloquent video. I too wanted to become a butler when I was a young lad. I was so fascinated with all things Royal and dreamed night and day of becoming butler to HM the Queen. In the 80’s there was no internet, but at the library I discovered an article about Ivor Spencer who ran a Butler school. I very nervously phoned him and he sent me a brochure. As I live in Canada, I never had the courage make the trip over to the UK to pursue my dream. I admire you for following your heart and not being dissuaded by your careers councillor.

Thank you for sharing. It's nice to get a bit of a look behind the scenes. I guess I can somewhat understand your almost reverence for her and the family, but being an American citizen, I was raised to believe that no person is any better than another. I'm sure you don't look at it that way. I'm so pleased for you to have attained your wish/desire to be a butler for the royal family.
Just a thought, but don't you
suppose that her making eye contact with you, acknowledging you, is perhaps her way of letting you know she appreciates you taking care of things to make the dinner or whatever go smoothly And I'd bet under the right circumstances the two of you could be friends of a sort. Just a thought. Looking forward to hearing more.
I feel a need to express my hope that you and the royal family all are Believers in Jesus Christ as our Savior. It's quite important as we are living in the End Times, actually the Last Days!! And we all need to be ready for the Rapture! You want to be part of the Rapture because the Tribulation that will follow NO ONE would want to be Left Behind to have to endure. Please take this seriously and try to pass the word along to anyone and everyone you can!! The thought of anyone being Left Behind really breaks my heart. Especially good people like you and the Royal Family!! God bless.

Just found your videos today & have to admit I’m hooked! I grew up in the UK 🇬🇧 but when I was 11 my parents immigrated to Canada 🇨🇦. I was devastated that we were leaving our beautiful Queen, not really understanding what the Commonwealth was. My parents allowed me to write to Her Majesty to tell her how much I’d miss her & wished her well. Some weeks later I received a reply from Buckingham Palace, the note was signed Susan Hussy, Lady in Waiting to her Majesty, who had “Commanded” her to thank me for my well wishes. As you can imagine, I was floored & so proud to have received mail from the Queen, of course still have that correspondence to this day. I was equally surprised to see that Susan Hussy is still closely associated with the Queen as shown at Prince Philip’s funeral. Seeing Ms. Susan accompanying Her Majesty on such a sad day put a face to a name I have known since 1970. Thank you for your polite, respectful videos & sharing the REAL Royal Family, it is so clear that you really love them....just brilliant.

Thank you. This was most enjoyable! The comments about your conversation with The Queen reminded me of being presented to her on two formal occasions in 1970 during the month-long tour of New Zealand by The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles and Princess Anne. I was a junior secretary in the tour organising office. I was extremely nervous waiting in line on the last day, but found The Queen to be very much like my own mother. She made everyone feel relaxed and gave us all the impression that we were valued and essential members of their hugely successful visit, even the most junior person like me. On saying goodbye I was so un-stressed that I said "bye bye" to her, just as I would to a close family friend, instead of the more formal "goodbye Your Majesty".
Before being chosen to work on the Royal Visit, I was anti-royalty and I didn't dare tell my friends what I was doing. But when I saw the effect the Royal Family had on the people of New Zealand, and how uplifting and inspiring their whole tour was, I became a staunch royalist. I saw the benefit in having role models with values of the traditional family, of Christianity, and of service to others.

She is honest, kind and has steered the monarchy for so many years. She is well thought of across the world, even by leaders in non Commonwealth nations. We need to keep her in our prayers at this time, having lost her life partner, and her much loved grandson Harry. She has the remainder of her family around her and this will strengthen her, as well as faithful and kind staff like yourself. Lovely accent, too BTW. 👌

God Save The Queen. My personal belief is that a nation is well served when it has a royal family to focus on. American Presidents are important during their time of service but fade into history once they leave office.
A royal family is the past the present and the future. Past memories, current ambition and future hope. You are so fortunate to have been a part of that history. I can attest to that service being woven into a families tapestry. My second Greatgrandfather served HRH Regina Victoria as a body guard. He accompanied Her Majesty at Her Coronation. My Grandfather instilled in me as a boy we are Americans but we are loyal to the Royal Family. If need arises our duty is to the protection of the Royals. I have closely followed every event that has been made public.
Thank you for your service, God Save The Queen.

May I ask why you stopped working for the Family ? You are still young.
Since my parents died , and all my aunts and uncles too, I see Her Majesty and her Family as a kind of substitute. I mean this respectfully.
I have had to pleasure to assist many great people in Germany , who were Entropeneurs , and worked well into their 90s.
One can learn alot from elderly people. I have also spent 10 years working with elderly who were suffering from a form of dementia. It was alot of fun as I got to spoil them . They love to sing and of course music and laughter are the two best medicines.
When I was a child , my father received a letter from the Duke of Edinburgh, thanking him for breakfast bringing a basket of oranges for him and the Queen from Malta. I didn't understand it then , but when I visited Malta I did as Malta has delicious oranges , and of course lemons.
The fruit obviously reminded them of their happy days in Malta after the war. The Mountbattens were also connected to Malta. The Queen and Prince Phillip lived in the Mountbattens villa there.
One can always judge people by their manners , and the Queen and Prince Phillip are known for this.
I cried here in Germany on Prince Phillips funeral day.
I pray for the Queen , that she will find comfort and somehow have many more happy years. I was so happy to hear she has some puppies , as animals often understand much more than human beings , and are a comfort and joy.
Thank you for sharing your memories. They are pleasant. Memories are there for ever. It is like happiness in slow motion . Something nobody can take away.
I am glad you do these videos, and that you are a discrete and loyal gentleman.
    Thank you.

Thank you and I love your loyalty to the Royal Family. People criticize our Monarchy, but it stems from tradition and honours a Christian way of treating people. And it works. It has values and is not just to do with money and popularity. It shows us civilized behaviour compared to garish vulgarity. Long Live the Queen.

_"There are no reliable recorded incidents of the Queen losing her temper, using bad language, or refusing to carry out a duty expected of her."_

Actually, I was watching documentary last night about the Queen and there was a scene where the Queen's view of Philip was blocked by photographers while he was participating in a carriage race. She was quite short, raised her voice and gestured with her arms for them to go away. I thought, 'Good for her not to accept such rude behaviour'... I suspect things such as that are a rarity. I loved it though, it showed her human side & her devotion to Philip.

@@lindaberg1695 ah! :-) Good for her. * giggle * You know, maybe it depends on definition and on how sensitive one is. I, alas, have inherited the East-Prussian quick temper and short fuse, so I'm prepared to give this a pass. Shouting, "Go away! You're crowding me! You're blocking the view!!" or some such would not discredit this quote in my view. Now for all I admire her, I don't mean to make her out as a saint. The best of humans are only human at best and all that.
For me, losing temper and using foul language would mean screeching, the use of bleep-out words, abusive behavior for which one needs to be ashamed of and apologize - hurling vases or paperweights, or kicking the dog (or worse). - I chuckled a bit when I watched an interview where the interviewer bumbled on a bit and started to ramble, and HM gave him a "we are not amused" glance which seemed to say, "You _are_ a little bit stupid, aren't you" (strictly _my_ interpretation). What with my temper, one would need to bring on a bit more to startle me. ;-)

She deserves none of what happened in the nintys nor does she deserve what harry and his wife are doing. Hi Grant, as working with and for the Royal Family was such a huge ambition of yours why did you decide to move on? Do you regret your decision to leave your role as a Royal Butler?

    • @thekingsdaughter4233
      @thekingsdaughter4233 3 роки тому +7

Not that this was necessary _his_ reason, but in modern days, there is a fairly quick turnaround in the royal household. The _payment_ is said to be less than standard, which is the reason why many move on. But once you got that on your CV, you get your pick of positions elsewhere and get to name the price (very nearly, anyway). A person's gotta make a living, and London is an expensive place to live, we are told...
