That's crazy that Mike's school actually has a class about typescript because I'm done with BS and halfway through MS in CS at UCF and there's not a single class on such a modern thing... the most "official" we get on modern web technologies is a class where you make a LAMP stack website one half of the semester and a MERN stack app the second half of the semester.... totally lame compared to MIT!

computer science degree != programming degree

@@saladpalad That's true, but degrees in "programming" aren't really a thing in most schools -- CS fills that gap already, and hardware specialization would be Computer Engineering. Computer Science is a math degree where you choose a bunch of extra computer stuff to specialize in, most related to software development and all requiring programming. For instance, we do have a class called Programming Languages 1 (there is, to my knowledge, not a programming languages 2).
