That was my 1st game played on DOS in my friend house. We where taking every chance when his parents where out. It nice that they came back to the roots it brings a very good memories back.
i like it goes back to the roots of the franchise, with the 2-d platformer style, it looks amazing ngl, it looks like assassins creed mixed with metroid dread.
I had no idea Gareth Coker was involved in the OST. His work on the Ori games was absolutely amazing. I queued up the demo a little while ago, can't wait to check it out tonight!
This is a must-have for me! I'm a fan of Metroidvania-style games, having already played some of the classic ones on Switch, and this looks absolutely top tier. When it was announced I added it to my ever-growing wishlist on my phone, but I think I'll be deleting it off rather quickly as I will have to get this straight away. Congrats guys on getting that sponsor from Ubisoft, that's a real milestone in the channel's development - one from such a big developer/publisher. 👏
I was really interested and I hoped for a potent Switch port since I prefer this on a portable device and I want it physically… waiting for a full review but so far a safe day 2 purchase.
As a massive fan of Sands of time I think this looks like a perfect evolution, combining the original 2D style with an excellent combat mechanic all wrapped up in a delicious metroidvania style. Super impressed with the accessibility/difficulty options too. Can’t wait to get into to this one!
Yesss, so excited about this game! It looks incredible and I love that there are so many accessibility settings. When a game looks this good sometimes you just want to feel cool doing badass moves, so I really appreciate the devs making that experience possible for players of different skill levels.
I haven't always gotten on with all of the Prince of Persia games but I loved Sands of Time and the Warrior Within which I played on the GameCube back in the day. This feels like it's gravitating back to that kind of era which I'm really drawn to! It looks really slick. Happy to see I back again! :)
I loved Sands of Time back in the day, so was excited when I heard they were finally bringing this franchise back. Was a little worried it either wouldn't run great on switch, or they would downgrade the graphics heavily to get it to run smoothly. So great to see they managed to pull it off
Just played the demo, and very very impressed. I love metroidvanias and the old prince games on ps2 and this feels like really good blend of both. Combat was tight and felt super intuitive! This is similar to Phenix Rising situation to me. If Ubisoft started focusing on games like this and Phenix and not just churned out copy paste assasin creed games they would have alot more fan support. The demo was so good, im almost not even upset about the larger price tag.
I'm seriously getting hyped for this... I knew they were taking it back to the 2D style, but I had no clue they were making a proper Metroidvania with twitch platforming! I can see a bit of Ori, bit of Dread, bit of Celeste even... GOOD STUFF!
The fact you can take photos of places you want to remember where they are and easily come back to them is a game changer. If only hollow knight and others had this feature. It makes the game so much more accessible and I’m all here for it
I’m excited to see the new time mechanics and all the platforming. You all do an amazing job with explaining everything and I love your reviews. So informative.
I’ve been starving for a good metroidvania game to play! I’ve been waiting and waiting for Silk Song along with everyone else….this looks like it could ease my sorrow of no silk song for a bit😁
I’ve just finished Illusion Island and all I could think of was…. I wish this had an opportunity to attack enemies… then I spot this. Incredible job you guys are doing and the recognition from Ubisoft is highly warranted. Shame you spoke so highly of this one; it’s bread and water for the family now for a few weeks.
I completely agree. Illusion Island was so fun to play co-op with my kids, but without any Mario-esq attacks, it got a bit redundant. I hope they make a successor to that game with those mechanics.
Yeah, it had the rotoscoping going on like Flashback. My mate had it for his Amiga but I think it was all about the Lemmings or some other classic at the time. Happy days
Prince of persia was there since my childhood, playing the Sands of time game on the Gameboy to playing the ones on the gamecube. I love the fact that they are going to a 2D approach again, especially because Metroidvanias are my favorite games. I have to say tho that I'm a little dissapointed that they didnt use the prince from the first games but thats just a minor issue. The game looks incredibly fun to play and I have no doubts that it will deliver on that!
Sands of Time is one of the games that got me back into gaming. I’ve always found something to enjoy from each game since then and I’m _so_ glad to see this franchise returning and be so well received!
Looks absolute class. So nice when big developers don’t just rest on previous successes and push the envelope with new releases. Some really nice features and looks stunning at 60FPS. Looking forward to this
The freedom and fluidity of the gameplay customization in this game is exciting. Feel like it allows you to add a little more difficulty customization ontop of the existing settings. Great “replayability” candidate! Looking forward to your gameplay review!
I loved Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time back on the Gamecube, and am really looking forward to this new game in the series. Looks like it takes the series back to its original roots. Can't wait.
My older brother and I have been looking forward to this one a lot. He grew up playing the original with my dad, then showed me the Xbox one years later. We both love the franchise and can't wait to play this new one. I just sent him the video!
As someone who is Deutan colorblind I appreciate when games have good accessibility options. The art style of this game looks interesting. I’m looking forward to your full review.
I played this demo about 4 times on launch, and I was amazed by how many attacks and moves I was discovering just by playing around. For example, any move that launches an enemy lets you follow the enemy into the air by holding the button, and good timing on attacks will let extend your basic combo. Combat is very deep and completely addictive. Loved every minute!
I remember my dad bringing home his old work laptop, he had the original Prince of Persia installed on it, unfortunately it was in black and white so I couldn't tell if the bottles were health or poison without trial and error, the thing weighed a ton. This franchise and Wolfenstein hold so much nostalgic value as the first games I ever played. So happy to see this is looking amazing and a slight nod to the original.
I remember playing the first of Prince of persia game with that nerve wrecking 60 minute game target timer, on a low end PC when I was about 5, and just how cool it felt to time the left mouse click just right to get the 3rd stab on the enemy in the first stage, watch him drop to die with a little music to break the silence, and then that cool 'putting the sword away' animation played! The animations were really groundbreaking then just watching the walk / run differences! How games have changed!!
Congrats on sponsorship. I can't wait for full review. I'm definetly excited for the game. But I'll wait for reviews and most probable patched/updates and sales.
Prince of Persia (on PC) was one of the first game I purchased for myself as a kid. I saved up for a Sound Blaster and loved how the music sounded in the intro. Most every battle was won by starting with a block (up arrow) and swiftly striking (space bar). That's an attack sequence ingrained in my muscle memory forever.
Really been looking forward to this! Hope it's as good as it looks 🤞 and it really looks like they've catered for a heck of a lot and everyone within the settings, really good from ubisoft! Developers take note.
Oh that'd be absolutely great. Also this looks like maybe more focus on the platforming and combat and a bit less on the robot thing, which just personally would be a plus.
Prince of Persia was one of my favourite series growing up - I remember getting Two Thrones on release day and not stopping until it was complete. This looks like the perfect marriage of that universe and a new game play direction that I’ve grown to love recently thanks to the switch. I’ve just became a dad to twins so this is going to be the perfect game to pick up on those rare down times whilst I’m on paternity leave!
This looks AMAZING, it's always lovely when such a classic franchise manages to reinvent itself. Also kudos for the customisation and accessibility options, we need more games focusing on that!
Congrats on the sponsorship! You guys truly deserve it This title piqued my interest. The more I hear about it, the more I want to try it out. I've never played a Prince of Persia game.
I hope it's good, I've been waiting for this game to come out on Switch so im really hoping it hits the mark. Metroidvania games are some of my favorites.
A couple years ago, Ubisoft restructured massively and said they were remaking their games with new ways of doing things and new talent in control. These 2024 games are the first wave of a few of those games that had totally new creative control… including this one. Will be interesting to see if Ubisoft makes a comeback, they certainly have some of the most widely loved IPs in video games
I've never played the series before but the trailers leading up to it have been nothing but impressive! I'm looking forward to getting it after my wallet feels a bit heavier and my backlog a bit more manageable!
I was very worried when I saw the changes they were making to the style of Prince of Persia, but it's great to see they seem to have stuck the landing. No need to rewind time and try again. And a great video to showcase it guys.
Unfortunately I don’t have any experience with the original but I’ve been really looking forward to this one. I think it looks amazing and as a newer fan of metroidvania’s, I can’t wait to play this and add it to my collection. Awesome video as always. Thank you, you guys!
Congrats on the sponsoring! As for me, I'm going to try out the demo this weekend, but it's definitely a game I've been looking forward to. I remember playing the original Prince of Persia on my Amstrad CPC (8bit Z80-based, so the graphics of the game were very simplistic but the fluid animation and gameplay were already there) time and time again, and I owned the entire Sands of Time trilogy on the Wii and loved it (well, the first one and the third one mostly, the second one had some really annoying sections, you know the ones...). Happy to see it come back in a shape that brings in the best parts of both types of games while being its own new thing. And impressive that they got it running so well. Such a dedication to the Switch deserves to be lauded!
The only Prince of Persia I played was the original one on computer, I have such a fond memory of that game even if I was terrified by those deadly spikes 😅 It’s so cool to see something from that game in this one!
Can't express my joy of seeing the recognition who guys, and the channel, receive!! Every video you make shows the effort you put in, and it is still true whit this one. The game looks sick! So glad the franchise is getting a revival. It's about damn time!!!
I’m super excited for this! Metroidvania is probably my favorite genre, and my brothers and I would play the original prince of Persia game together when we were kids. Can’t wait!
Played my first PoP on an Amiga and I have since played every single game they released. I was so looking forward to this, but was hesitant. Now thanks to you guys I know where my next 40+ quids for gaming will go...
There was a lot of second hand hype that I started to feel for this, but wasn’t sure if I would actually like it, but after seeing the gameplay here, it looks like a lot of fun!
I was not planning on playing this and the initial trailer did not impress me but over the last couple of weeks I've been steadily changing my mind. Great video as always
I remember playing Prince of Persia on the Apple II way back in 1989. I’ve dipped back into various incarnations on various platforms throughout the decades. I’m quite a bit older & quite a bit slower but I have to admit this looks fun.
I played the demo for this on the Ps5 and I can say with complete honesty that I haven't had this much fun playing a Prince of Persia game since back in tbe 90s when I played the OG way too many times to count lol. The demo was amazing and made me really want to play the full game. Unfortunately I still don't think a 30 hour metroidvania is worth as much money as they are asking for it, but I will definitely be picking it up when it's on sale one day!
Busted out the GameCube the other day and booted up Sands of Time. I was a little worried when I saw that the new one would be a sidescroller but it feels great, and I love the character art that pops up onto the screen when dialogue occurs. Thanks for covering, fellas! I'll add it to the backlog (which I AM chipping away at haha)
I've been playing the demo as soon as it landed on the Switch. It's quite good. I'd likely still wait for a sale to get it but I can't wait to play the full version
Accessibility options should be more prevalent than they currently are, and it is great to see a game integrate so many options to help different players enjoy the game. It's important for all of us to recognize that we have different capabilities and face different challenges, and games should not be so rigid that they prevent some people from enjoying them. Even outside of personal restrictions, it also helps those of us who want to customize our experience! Its positive all around.
I played the demo on my switch as was trying to decide whether to get it on there or my ps5. I really wanted to have ability to play hand held hence trying switch demo first. I was super impressed with the port. It played and looked fabulous on switch so pre- ordered (breaking my own rule of never pre-ordering games!!) off Amazon as the physical copy came in at just under £40. Thanks for the video, as always telling me just the info i need, and so nice to hear fellow Brits 😊
I have a feeling this game might jump up to the top of my backlog and get played next. Looking forward to your review! And congrats on the sponsor, well deserved!
This game looks crazy! Great job to Ubisoft for bringing the franchise back in a GREAT way. Playing the demo tonight but it looks gorgeous and it takes the best of the metroidvania games and this is what we get! Great video guys
I'm so excited to play this, even though I'm not the best at metroidvania games. The demo came out on my birthday and I'm so happy I get to try it out, it was truly an amazing gift.
Looks fantastic! Great to see you get the love from ubisoft. I hope we end up seeing more titles like this in the future from ubi, smaller and cheaper but very well made is a winner for everyone! Looks like it runs beautifully on switch too, hats off to them.
Was so hyped when this was announced, was even more excited when the first gameplay clips were out and now after hearing all this, this sounds so good. Can’t wait to try the demo (and hopefully the full game)!
I tried the demo, so surprised it didn’t have any blurriness like most of the multi platform games on switch, not to mention the game run so smoothly, it’s just perfect.
Many thanks to Ubisoft for the great game and support for Farsi dubbing and Farsi subtitles. The experience of playing in my mother tongue (Farsi) from a big and excellent company like Ubisoft was a very enjoyable and satisfying experience. Thank you Ubisoft

Been waiting for a prince of persia game or remake of the sands of time trilogy for YEARS. This is overdue
I was very worried when I saw the changes they were making to the style of Prince of Persia, but it's great to see they seem to have stuck the landing. No need to rewind time and try again. And a great video to showcase it guys.
This still looks great, and looks fun as heck.
Thanks for letting us know about the demo! PoP was one of my favorite franchises and Sands of Time is probably still up there as an all time great.
The only Prince of Persia I played was the original one on computer, I have such a fond memory of that game even if I was terrified by those deadly spikes 😅 It’s so cool to see something from that game in this one!
Love Prince of Persia and love your guy’s content. Can’t wait for the new take on the series!! Keep up the awesome work. Love the channel!
As a massive metroidvania fan this is a MUST have. The silksong wait made me try almost all metroidvanias and this one definitely caught my eye
Played the demo yesterday and then again today, absolutely blew me away! I was on the fence but now I’m sold

Can’t wait!
I was hoping this turned out well 💪
Played my first PoP on an Amiga and I have since played every single game they released.
I’ve been playing the series since the original. I’m looking forward to this so much. It is like an evolution of the original and I dig that, man
I was not planning on playing this and the initial trailer did not impress me but over the last couple of weeks I've been steadily changing my mind.

Thanks for the video, as always telling me just the info i need, and so nice to hear fellow Brits 😊
wow you are right it looks really impressive, and on the Switch! I played a few PoP in and I loved that universe. Looking forward seeing your review 😊

@@Ihatevideogames334 good for you lol
This looks like what I want from a side scroller. The art style reminds me of Rise of Fenix which is bloody lovely.
I'm so excited to play this, even though I'm not the best at metroidvania games. The demo came out on my birthday and I'm so happy I get to try it out, it was truly an amazing gift.
so gassed for this! I've been wanting a new metroidvania to play and didn't know this one is coming out so soon.
I love the orginal and the sands of time, but I was very hesitant to grab this one until I saw the review. Very excited now.
Sands of Time was such a classic, back in the day. Glad to see the franchise back with a solid-sounding offering and some good looking combat!
