The number of men who take their own lives is horrific, and I feel that it's getting worse due to the increasing level of stress induced by pointless officialdom. One of the worst things about it is that the ones who need the most help are the ones who don't share what's going on in their life. They put a brave face on it and suffer in silence until it seems insurmountable. I often talk about it on my channels, to encourage people to have less respect for officialdom and to share their troubles with work colleagues, friends and family. Just sharing your troubles can lift a weight off your mind. A poll of my subscribers also showed that about 50% of them suffered the classic sudden depression in their 40's, suggesting there must be a root cause of it.
Kudos to you coming out and being willing to talk about your experience. Too many of us, myself included bottle up our mental health and it becomes too much to deal with. Videos like yours could save a life.
It's taken me a little while to click on the video. I lost my close friend beginning of this year to the same thing. I've not recovered from the shock and feelings I have. But I'm ok, I'll get there.
This video has really made me realise I'm not OK. I need to talk to someone and get help. Thank you so much Nick, your a legend. Sometimes you don't realise how bad things are when you have a young family and bills to pay etc. Thanks mate.
Thanks guys! This video gave me the wake up call I needed! I quit my job and now work for myself, loving every day. I opened up to my wife about how I feel and since then things have been great. I was in a good job but worked for a toxic manager who was just grinding me down. I loved the job but it was making me ill, so glad I saw this video and between me and my wife we made the decision for me to go self employed. Like Nick says just talking about things can change a lot. I look back at how depressed I was and realise I should have changed things sooner but when money is good and you have a young family it's hard to walk away. So glad I watched this, spoke to my wife and now things are great. Thanks @nickbundy and thank you everyone for your comments!
@@jdsenergyservices thank you so much for taking the hardest step Sean. I am glad you're in a much better place with trustworthy and loving people around you that can support you. Nick, he would never in a million yrs have wanted to cause you or anybody else, the upset and pain that has been lift behind over the last 4yrs. I'm sorry that his death has had such lasting effort on you, I wish it hadn't been you , that day. Watching you tell the story and the subsequent impact it has had on you , i hope it helps you heal and maybe helps others too. You were a good friend to him, he loved you and your family, he'd be so proud of what you've achieved with your UA-cam channel, whilst always taking the 'piss'.
Well said. My best mate committed suicide when I was 18 I’m now 56 and still don’t know why he did what he did. Like you said people with mental illness hide it well. Back then it wasn’t heard of much, but today with people like you bringing the awareness to the fore we can ask the right questions of our friends and family and help support them.
I can honestly say that watching your regular content helps lift me, not necessarily because I’m down, but maybe a bit bored, or they simply lift me even more. I think David Savery was one of the first or Tom Nagy, and then I soon discovered CJR, DSS, Artisan and hadn’t realised how well you all know each other and despite the quite funny banter between you all (Kpoex and the ‘little Chris’ steps springs to mind), you all seem to be willing to help each other and share a common interest in doing quality work or fixing poor quality work. Just keep going, we enjoy watching, Adam enjoys learning but more importantly so do you!
I recently slipped a disk in my back, off work for 10 weeks.. the things that go through your mind are crazy. I never understood how people could get to a mental stage of calling it a day, but recent experience has shown me how easy it is to get there. Great video mate and hope it helps people realise it’s ok to not be ok but there is support out there
Well done Nick for coming out and talking about things. I have been watching you for a long time now and you have come a long way. I also like the way you and Adam get on and slag each other. I think things like can help people as well. All the advice you have given in the video where you talk about mental health is and could very helpful. Keep up the good work.
Very powerful Nick, you are a top bloke as evidenced by your openness. I think one of the issues is that people don’t feel others want to hear how an individual really feels. I saw this with my dad who was ill all my life until he died 14 years ago. People would say “how are you” but it was empty words, they weren’t really open for an honest reply. The more people talk, the sooner we will have wider acceptance. Take care of yourself and your family.
Bloody hell Nick balling my eyes out here, well said i have struggled in the past year about my dad n all because of you i spoke out so for that Respect to you mate 👍👍
Such an encouraging video Nick. Thanks for being so honest and vulnerable. I hope this reaches the guys that need to hear this the most and realise they need to get some help.
Hi Nick. Thank you for posting this heartfelt and deeply moving video about #mentalhealth. I'm so sorry for your obvious and painful loss. It's becoming more acceptable to talk about our feelings, anxieties, thank goodness. I've had people say 'just man up' to me in the past, when they had no clue what I was going through. Even had family members say it. Luckily I'm one of the lucky ones, I got the help I needed, I saw a therapist, I still do, it's an ongoing thing. Videos like yours help break the old-fashioned redundant unhelpful stigma than some people still have about mental health, so again, I thank you, and bravo to you for speaking up.
Emotional, genuine and lessons to be learned. I'm a massive advocator of raising awareness of mental health aswell so hats (batman hat) off to you brother. You've went thru alot at one time and look how you turned out... A great guy a great family and a great support team and family round about you brother. 🙏💜
Thank you for sharing Nick. Love how candid you are. as someone who’s currently struggling getting my confidence back, hearing about other peoples struggles makes the feeling of being alone less. Wishing you all the positivity.
Wow. Such a powerful vlog Nick. I suffer with mental health issues at times. Watching this brought tears to my eyes. I have recently been taking to Andys Man club. It helps. Thanks for posting this video mate 👍
Well said a really good way to put, my best friend is currently going through a tough patch and this is opened my eyes a lot, hopefully your words can change a few life’s, cheers nick
Thanks Nick for sharing this deeply moving video of your experience, which clearly shows you holding back distress. Your channel has really grown on me over time. Thank you XX
My family lost our brother /son to mental health. He was only 24 although we new he had his mental health issues but that night he never reached out to his family and friends. We found out the next morning when the police came knocking at the door. I suffer myself but all I can say is reach out for help. Easier said then done I know. Great video and hats off to you for covering this sensitive subject.
Nick that must be so hard to talk about but my heart goes out to you. Thankyou for sharing with us all it will help so many people. You should be so proud of yourself and your friend would have been.
A very inspiring video. I am an electrician in the United States. Just wanted to let you know the reason I found your channel and the channels of your other fellow electrician’s was because I had lost my way as an electrician. I started hating my job and loosing patience with customers. I actually searched on UA-cam for electricians that hate their jobs. How it found your site I don’t know. Watching your videos and other electricians videos actually made me start appreciating my job and actually finding it rewarding. Thank you.
Well said, Nick. Brilliant video..... honest, sincere and helpful. Anyone that thinks it can't happen to them, you're wrong.... everyone has a breaking point. Anyone who relishes making comments that are anything other than constructive or positive, you're wrong too.... no-one needs it.
I watch your videos not because I want to be an electrician but because I stumbled across your content and in every video you come across as a decent and kind person. It must have been difficult to make this video. Well done 💚
Well said and thank you for your honesty.👍 To coin a phrase, keep your chin up, and if anyone is feeling in a 'low mood', know that there are people who care, people who can help and that you are not alone.
You are AMAZING. I come to this from a different angle. I HAVE attempted suicide. And its seriously difficult to explain / understand what people are going through (and I don't think I can explain in a way that others would ever understand). I also did a lot of self harm (cutting). Something I found 'sad' was the number of people who would ask if I was OK, and then totally accept 'yh sure, just one of those days' as an answer. And can harm everyone around them. YOU are AMAZING and THIS video will help and YOU are saving lives.
I am so sorry to hear about your friend. I have been in Minds few years ago and they are fantastic and helpful. It is a great video that you have created.
My wife lost 4 close friends, all male, to suicide. A good customer of mine recently committed suicide. The effects are devastating for everyone concerned and the common denominator is you would never have realised how much they were suffering. Its a huge problem and I applaud this video for highlighting it. So sorry for your loss. I lost my dad to cancer in 2018. We had worked together for 10 years and I lost him quite suddenly. The effects are enormous and because of work I never gave myself time to grieve. Mental health awareness is so so important. Cheers NB.
A friend of mine took his own life and it was the hardest thing to comes to term with, he was the happiest guy in the room which makes you question every smile. Look after yourself and those around you. Great content Mr B.
Great video Nick. Really good that you can express the emotions and talk about the hard times in your life. Maybe others that are struggling see this video and get the help they need. Cant imagine how you were feeling at that time of your life. Wish you and the family the best in life and keep up the great content. Ignore the haters.
Thanks for this video Nick. This video has helped me alot as my brother took his own life 4 weeks ago. I've been off work ever since and been dreading the thought of going back. Great work and thanks again. 👍
Great advice, and glad you saw someone about it and that you are talking about it. Ive had 2 young suicides in my family, 1 on each side. Time doesnt heal these things, but it does let it fade.
Well said mate 👍 you had me in tears at one point, i also lost my dad to Cancer when i was only 20. We had hope to start Start our own business in domestic electrics after he had Retired from been a engineer at a hospital. i was struggling at the time to get a apprenticeship. 4 weeks before he died i was lucky enough to get a job to finish my apprenticeship with his old work place were i am still after 14 years. Watching your videos has helped me to get more Confidence to one day going on my own , you make it look so easy lol. Thanks you mate
Nick ive been watching for about a month now and there’s always been something ive liked and not been able to put my finger on it until i see this video, its your caring nature and how you look after people be it Adam, your customers, family or your best friend. Its clear to see your one of life’s genuine and caring types. Respect to you for this video and thank you for your videos. Id love to meet you one day and shake your hand and thank you for all the good you do wayne
We are all on this ride called life and sometimes it doesn’t make sense. Well done Nick for this video, it’s so important for people to share. I lost my mum suddenly to cancer and have been really been struggling but I keep going for my young children. Hearing others stories really helps and makes you feel like your not alone. Thank you xx
A very emotional watch nick as you know about my own issues. You have just brought back some very tough memories which is ok as it just makes me human which I understand now. So true about talking about it. Take care of yourself. No longer should mental health be in the shadows 🙏🙏🙏
It's so good of you not only to speak out, but also to repeatedly speak out - don't let the negative comments get you down, as you said, it shows that they too need help. I'm glad we've finally learnt Rich's name, and seen his picture - RIP Rich. You say about wanting to raise money for MIND, in your last video you spoke about regular giveaways of stuff you get donated - have you thought about raffleing some of the stuff off for charity? I'm sure plenty of people would chuck a couple of quid in once a month? I'll admit - I'm not a spark (I'm actually a software dev) but I stumbled across your videos and now I love watching them - my mind was blown last week when you did that live with James - it was like 2 worlds colliding 😂 keep up the good work!
Hi , I have just discovered your channel whilst being off with a back injury. I also found my brother after suicide, no reason at all . your video has helped an awful lot . The disease you can't see really struck a cord . Keep strong mate . Great videos . Don't forget it's ok not to be ok . Just talk xx
This video is really important. As someone who has just started my apprenticeship, I can see already that there is a lot of that toxic mentality of showing mental endurance. Especially for men, its one of the big problems still present in society unfortunately. Videos like this one will undoubtedly help people overcome this. Thankyou for sharing your story.
Very moving Nick. I was always the one saying "man up" but after loosing 2 family members this year I was in a dark place so decided to go see someone. By far the best thing I ever did. Completely changed my outlook and mindset and got me back on the right path again. Cannot stress enough that talking really does help.
Keep strong Nick 💪, thank you for sharing such a sensitive part of your life❤. Career is only one part of life, the rest is not taken into account these days.
Well done Nick, this wasn’t an easy watch mate, but you’ll definitely have made an impact on those who really need to hear this. Life is a long old journey with lots of good and bad that will come to us at different stages, sometimes the bad all comes at once, but from experience it damn well makes you appreciate the better times all the more. Grief stays with you, but the effects do become less and less as time goes on.
This hit the heart massively. Utter respect to you Nick and I wish you all the best in your career and future. The fact you have just got your biggest and most payed job out there shows how far you have came in life ❤️
Subscribed to you recently, as you came across as a genuine bloke. You seem like a top person. I wish you well mate. Ignore the trolls. They're just jealous of what they aren't. Keep up the good work. 👍
Very powerful video. It appears as I look today there are 13 people with the 👎🏼.. normally I would think they are idiots, but now I think these are folk who could need help with life for whatever reason.
Good on you Nick. Really like your videos and handy sparky tips. Im a sparky too and believe its one of the best jobs in the world. No two days are the same. Hope challenging is that. Life is all abouts the ups and downs, if you do feel down, don't worry, do the things you've mentioned, reach out, talk about it, exercise, play some music and remember it will pass. If it doesn't, please seek help and try one of the websites you've mentioned and remember, we are not alone, so please don't think you are.
Respect mate. I know how you feel, my best friend took his life a year ago next week. I’ve followed you for years and watched your original video when my mate was still in our lives. He left a daughter the same age as mine. We used to speak all the time (on Xbox) and there’s a massive void left in my life now. Like you we were really similar. Stay strong.
Well done mate for the video sorry for your loss I suffer with bad depression and anxiety myself have for years had an episode in 2015 2018 and then again this year in 2015 I got help 2018 I never bothered and was in a bad place .now I’m getting help from various mental health charity’s But still on dark place since about September . But taken the first steps thanks for the video take care best wishes to you and your family .
Fantastic video Nick: he would be proud of you - as many others have said before me. Mental health is hugely misunderstood in this country, by men and women, but men (and much older people) are generally the worst at 'bottling up' and waiting until its too late before asking for help. Masking with humour can become second nature if it goes on long enough, and that in itself makes other people assume we're all OK when we're not. Keep up everything you do: you're an amazing bloke (and an awesome tutor / mentor to Adam too!)
Well said Nick, your a top bloke.Always enjoy watching your videos, not only are you a top spark, but you are a genuine honest fella, good to talk about Mental Health,it comes in a lot of forms & the STIGMA is slowly being understood,LONG WAY TO GO,but having your platform as a YOU-TUBER is super positive for people that are suffering,as for the W…..S leaving Shit comments forget about them, not even worth talking about mate, see if they feel the same when they suffer from MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS,cos it can get anyone at any time.keep up the hard work, and the great videos because they are really appreciated. And big up to the young apprentice Adam,he’s heading in the right direction and it’s good to see.
I can totally relate to this video, my brother took his own life 14years ago at 28, then 5 years after that I found my mum had passed away at 56, it still hurts toady, and since then I'd seen my dad's health get worse from his heart issues he has.
well done nick, and thanks for talking about this issue, it will certainly help people with mental health issues, as for the scum that leave negative comments, ignore them they have sad little lives , they dont understand or have never done a hard days work in their lives, i am a retired electrician and i know how difficult the job can be not to mention making you tube videos into the bargain, so keep up the good work , i look forward to more good content from your vids,
Thnkyou for this video mate. I'm in my 30s and training to be an electrician atm. I love it but I'm really struggling atm and had a very difficult day yesterday. This video helped me massively and in a different way to alot of your other videos.
Thanks for the the share nick, I feel for you, all I can say is life changes, from one moment to the next, we can never be able to hold on to anyone or anything, the things we have is only just temporary, giving it enough time, and everything will start changing hands again, life is just a journey, hopefully we can make a difference to the world and the people around us that's what life is all about I guess...
My cousin jumped from a 5 storey flat on Monday, he’s lost a leg and broken his other leg, pelvis and is now intensive care. He wanted to take his life. I feel your pain bro. Watching this is amazing. We all feel like this from time to time. Its always good to address, speak up and look after ourselves physically and mentally. Thank you for this Nick wish you nothing but the best man!!!
Great bittersweet video that Nick, I can relate to alot of the turmoil you describe. Not knowing how to cope with life and work, where I want my career to be etc takes a massive toll and as a result I've spent the past few years in a constant state of confusion and stress. My mates already know how flippant I am with jobs but I feel I can't talk to them because I feel like a burden.
Powerful video Nick. Not only will it help hundreds of people who will watch this, but this will also help you much more than you can possibly imagine.. Big hugs to you fella, and keep up the good work ❤️
An excellent video Nick. I'm sure you talking will have helped loads of people find the courage to go and talk to someone. That's all it takes, start a conversation today!
You're a cracking bloke Nick. Love your work and your content. Your friend would be incredibly proud of everything you've accomplished with your family and business. Ignore the idiots, they are the unfortunate cancer that goes hand in hand with the UA-cam comment section - very sad people who probably have miserable lives.
My condolences to your friend wish you all the best and don’t let people that comment bad things get to you Because at the end of the day most people that comment bad things are just gellouse and hate that your doing so well with your work 👍
Nick, you're an inspiration for so many. Such wise words. As you say, it was always a case of hiding it, man up etc. For every smart arse tool comment you know there's hundreds or thousands of us out here cheering you on. I'm in Sydney, Australia and bush walking any enjoying nature is my outlet. You might have seen my bits of video on the WhatsApp group. Cheers
What a powerful video. Definitely in trades, mental health isn't talked about enough. I think alot of the time people mask talks with humour to avoid having to open up to someone else.
Well don Nic, it is one of this subjects that people just don’t talk about. You are one of many that have a set of BALLS that can talk about it. Let’s hope this video is inspirational to others to be able to help themselves with Mental Health, and speak to someone about the struggles they are having.
A problem shared is a problem halved. From another UA-camr who has struggled with this issue in the past all I can say is well said mate. 👍
The number of men who take their own lives is horrific, and I feel that it's getting worse due to the increasing level of stress induced by pointless officialdom.
I very important to remember your friendship and the positives to come out of this very distressing situations you had to cope with. Thank you Nick.
Thanks for this video Nick. This video has helped me alot as my brother took his own life 4 weeks ago. I've been off work ever since and been dreading the thought of going back. Great work and thanks again. 👍
Watching this Nick is hitting so many truths, some very recent for myself. Thank you...

Thanks for sharing, I appreciate your videos, your sensitivity and your words. ❤️
It's all part of life's journey my friend. We deal with it as we have to. Keep your head up
A very emotional watch nick as you know about my own issues.
Thanks for your honesty in sharing. This is why I value this channel.
🙌🏼🙌🏼 I have no words except from mad respect
Thanks for opening up !! ex military Ive lost 4 friends to suicide the pain and guilty always stays, but life goes on. Stay strong and keep talking !!
Very moving Nick. I was always the one saying "man up" but after loosing 2 family members this year I was in a dark place so decided to go see someone. By far the best thing I ever did. Completely changed my outlook and mindset and got me back on the right path again. Cannot stress enough that talking really does help.
May I ask who you went to see? Just your GP or somewhere else? Thanks
@@yeah_right_ok_no1190 I went to see a counselling person who specialises in loss. Really helped.
Keep strong Nick 💪, thank you for sharing such a sensitive part of your life❤. Career is only one part of life, the rest is not taken into account these days.
Inspirational stay strong powerful honest words
This was great Nick
You really are a inspiration
Well done Nick, this wasn’t an easy watch mate, but you’ll definitely have made an impact on those who really need to hear this. Life is a long old journey with lots of good and bad that will come to us at different stages, sometimes the bad all comes at once, but from experience it damn well makes you appreciate the better times all the more. Grief stays with you, but the effects do become less and less as time goes on.
Thank you for taking about this. There are a lot of people that are struggling at the moment. We need to be there for them. Thanks nick
Bloody brilliant video. Thank you.
Thoughts are with you today mate, you know we love ya ❤️
Nick lad your an absolute legend!
Very powerful video. It appears as I look today there are 13 people with the 👎🏼.. normally I would think they are idiots, but now I think these are folk who could need help with life for whatever reason.
It’s great your sharing your experience, many of us don’t know where to go.
What an amazing tribute to Nigel and RIch
Respect mate. I know how you feel, my best friend took his life a year ago next week. I’ve followed you for years and watched your original video when my mate was still in our lives. He left a daughter the same age as mine. We used to speak all the time (on Xbox) and there’s a massive void left in my life now. Like you we were really similar. Stay strong.
You are such a decent guy Nick. Take care.
Another brilliant from the heart video Nick top man.
Adam's doing a grand job with the piano!
Great video!!
Brave to put yourself out there again Nick, great video.
Well done on sharing your loss, but time will heal you still have family to help you get through the hardtimes when you need them.
I can totally relate to this video, my brother took his own life 14years ago at 28, then 5 years after that I found my mum had passed away at 56, it still hurts toady, and since then I'd seen my dad's health get worse from his heart issues he has.
well done nick, and thanks for talking about this issue, it will certainly help people with mental health issues, as for the scum that leave negative comments, ignore them they have sad little lives , they dont understand or have never done a hard days work in their lives, i am a retired electrician and i know how difficult the job can be not to mention making you tube videos into the bargain, so keep up the good work , i look forward to more good content from your vids,
Great video, keep doing what you're doing.
Be kind, always!
I am deeply sorry you lost your friend…
You're a cracking bloke Nick. Love your work and your content. Your friend would be incredibly proud of everything you've accomplished with your family and business. Ignore the idiots, they are the unfortunate cancer that goes hand in hand with the UA-cam comment section - very sad people who probably have miserable lives.
My condolences to your friend wish you all the best and don’t let people that comment bad things get to you Because at the end of the day most people that comment bad things are just gellouse and hate that your doing so well with your work 👍
Lovely video.... thank you ☺️
Nick, you're an inspiration for so many. Cheers
Well said Nick.
Remember Guy's It's OK to be Not Ok
What a powerful video. Definitely in trades, mental health isn't talked about enough. I think alot of the time people mask talks with humour to avoid having to open up to someone else.
Well don Nic, it is one of this subjects that people just don’t talk about. You are one of many that have a set of BALLS that can talk about it. Let’s hope this video is inspirational to others to be able to help themselves with Mental Health, and speak to someone about the struggles they are having.
Excellent well done!
You're a nice lad Nick , great video :)
