Note: if you make a play pen out of cardboard boxes that is 99.9% spacious hiding spots with tunnels to run through, your guinea pig will be ecstatic and u get to listen to it thundering around like a racehorse and popcorning all over

I let my guinea pigs walk around my room sometimes and I sit on my bed, they really love doing it but sometimes when I get up from my bed to sit on the floor they freeze, this only happens sometimes tho

When my guinea pig lowers his head it just means that he is about to sleep. My guinea pig is one lazy boi. It is nice to have him because his mouth is so funny when he looks up. Also, when we give him lettuce, he sometimes looks straight up and it is very funny.

My Nan used to have two female piggies and I named then bramble and Rosie but sadly I didn’t know much about them and soon they passed but now I know a lot about guinea pigs cause of u 😄

Whenever my guinea pig is scared if I remove what is scaring her she still has to get up on me and cuddle up with me to fully calm down. Sometimes it takes 5 minutes but lately it's been between 30 minutes to 3 hours
These signs definitely help to also determine if your piggy is feeling unwell. My Phin is usually very bold and unphased by a lot of things. She started to not eat as much as usual and also kept hiding and wouldn't come out all day. Turns out she had a little tummy bug after taking her to the vet and now she's all better 😄
My guinea pig LOVE food and even when he is scared and runs out to the food bowl, grabs some food, and then runs back to hide while eating it. He also bosses my younger guinea pig about and steals food from him.

I got an new one a couple of weeks ago and she is still very scared when I try to go near the cage.
Emerald Bros some guinea pigs are like that, one of my guinea pigs that i have had for 3 years is still scared when i come near the cage!
Just let them get used to you. Some piggies need time to warm up to their owners🐹

We have 2 piggies. One is quite bold and curious and the other is skittish and timid. The timid one runs and hides at everything, but she'll take food out of my hand.

What did we do to deserve guinea pretties? I'm in tears from their cuteness.
Thankfully, my piggy shows no signs of this. He is sitting next to my head right now and is popcorning.
This makes me feel better. My guy isn't fond of being picked up and hides. But once I put him in my lap/hold him. He just crawls around watching me/the world.
My pig is fearless and curious. He goes up to my dog (who is scared of him) and loves exploring everything. He’s rarely hiding unless he’s sleeping, sometimes he even sleeps outside of his cage
You are helping me A LOT to understand my boyfriends piggies. And because of you I know that both of them kind of like it when I'm visiting ❤️
One of my guinea pigs always has wide open eyes with the whites visible. Including when she is eating, playing or relaxing. Maybe she's just very intense. Her eyes are like that even when she's sleeping.
I've had my newest gunia for a year and purring and eating out of my hand is finally a thing ❤

My momma piggy runs constantly (was sold to me as a male - 5 babies later not a male - clearly)... whereas papa runs to me... strange piggies... lol... I've had her since November since she was a week old, but I love you mama don't be afraid... that babies all come to me already and aren't yet 4 months old!!!

I got piggies yesterday and named them Pebbles and Pumpkin.
I didn’t follow the rules of leaving them but Pebbles took food from my hand! They were also eating when I was there. My brothers ere excited I got them and they made a lot of loud noises and sudden movements.

The first time i clipped my baby guinea pigs nails after i got her. She froze and i really thought that she had a heart attack and died. Scared the crap out of me.

Whoops! When I first got my piggy, he ALWAYS shivered whenever I pet him. I didn't understand why and it kinda scared me, but I still pet him anyway. He doesn't do that anymore. I have had him since October of 2016. Cute little guy is so much fun and always speaks super loud whenever people walk into the kitchen!
My piggy is so lazy that he moves his food bowl closer to his hiding place so he doesn't have to walk allot to get some food xD

Good to know! Jessie however is fairly used to my antics so he ingores it. Mohawk still can freeze from time to time but once he sees it's no danger... ho boy...

My guinea pigs LOVE to hide but as soon as they hear a bag rattling they go crazy 😂
My 2 piggies used to run and hide everytime someone in the house sneezed, especially if it was in the same room as them (probably partly because 3/4 people in my house, including me, sneeze like a fog horn). In a matter of a few months, they seem no longer phased when anyyone sneezes in my house

My guinea pigs have started plopping their heads down when I go to pet them instead of running away. Not sure whether to take this as a fear sign, but they seem to enjoy the head rubs

i just got two little girl guinea pigs and they were from a pet store and then their previous owners didn’t ever handle them so hopefully they can get used to being held soon!
