Great battle Cap, those AIM 260's look like they are far more deadly at a distance, the higher lofting seems to have corrected the energy problem they had before when shot at long range!
I wonder if having the JATAM loft will make it harder to avoid now. Peregrine could be even more dangerous. Maybe testing the difference between the no-loft and the loft versions could be interesting, especially against humans.
The peregrine has always been loft. It was the first missile that I worked on from new. That is the only reason it has the range that it does. It lofts massively to get the range that it has. It is not as powerful as the aim-120C but has a much larger range. For that reason it is not very good if it is not fired from altitude.

Hey Cap, can you do a wargame where China, Russia, Korea, and some random non nation state attack US assets in different locations simultaneously with US defending all locations (or try to) using this same map? This could be a combined arms of AF and Navy/ Marines.
I have no idea if ADM-160 has this feature, but it makes sense to my smooth brain that the MALD should take evasive maneuvers when targeted? Is that possible to program into a mod and I wonder how that'd impact PK on MALDs. If I'm controlling a SAM and I paint a fighters that continues to fly dumb, straight and level, that might be a giveaway as to what are the decoys?
Even decoys in the Cold War could maneuver to replicate a real aircraft. especially because an aircraft isn't normally going to just ignore being locked. If it could be done in DCS it wouldn't change much since the maneuvering is really to fool the operator of the SAM site into firing. and DCS SAM sites are very dumb even if they are dangerous.
Wouldn't that VSR mode you made a video about a few days ago be able to distinguish between decoys and missiles, or would the clutter confuse it? I don't know if the S-400 has anything like that, though.
@@grimreapers Might be something to test in the unlikely event you run out of better stuff to do... or at least, something to remember if you're defending against such a strike as humans in one of these wargames.
This is really cool, I just hope people keep in mind this is not at all reflective of how a conflict between US and Iran would actually play out and while really fun, is a game still. We can't comprehend how hard it would actually be to subdue iran if we decided to actually go to war with them. If you think 20 years only to lose in afghanistan was bad, Iran is basically uninvadable unless you're willing to commit literally your entire military strength. Iran is a literal fortress built into a massive mountain range. They're also not REALLY our "enemies" they're just the excuse we need to stay involved in middle eastern affairs. Iran is really the more moderate of the sects of islam, and ironically it's our allies in saudi arabia who spread the wahhabism sect which is the entire root cause of the extremism in islam. I don't mean to get preachy, I know people are just here for the fun and I am too, I just want everyone to remember that war sims are still just sims annd not something we should aspire to reenact in real life or a reflection of any kind of realism in an actual war time setting.
Great idea but inclusion of SU-57 in the Iranian air force inventory is very unrealistic. Russia would never export their top fighter, nor trust Iran with it.
I would expect the Russian jets to carry R37M missiles, at least the su57s, especially in a scenario that the US planes carry missiles that are not in service yet. I would expect pantsir units to be on the actual target of the mission instead of the old soviet junk that barely fired at 2 easy to shoot targets. I would like to see medium range SAMs included, for example some SA11 Buk units ahead of the S400 systems. All soviet and now Russian SAMs are designed to cover the blindspots of each other, you need multiple different classes of systems. I think that the performance of the decoys is highly overmodeled. In a real scenario the enemy will have multiple ways to determine what is or is not a decoy, some of them have to do with decision making of the operators and some of them have to do with the equipment iteself, the decoy will try to fool the SAM systems but this is not going to always be a success. Future (or maybe even current technologies) on radars have far better capabilities than just detecting a spot on the map. Modern radars can even reconstruct a 3D model of the target they track, determine a width, length of the target as well as tell when 1 target splits to 18 different targets. Malds are still very useful, they can bait enemy systems to give away their position or to create a destraction, they're just not such a game changer that takes out one huge SAM site by using a single plane.
@@grimreapersAh...I figure it out. That doesn't work with missiles...works with planes. Gotta hit F6 for missiles. THAT'S what I was doing wrong. Got it!! 👍
Nice battle plan and video but the war in Ukraine has taught us that the Russians are not able to have SAM sites active while they are flying because they shoot their own aircraft down.
Not a single Iranian fighter defended itself, it was flying bricks. They could be knocked down with a slingshot. But as soon as one Su-57 fired just one missile, all Western aircraft immediately began to defend themselves. What was it???? This simulation simulated the flight of bricks.
Some were trying to go cold if you weren't watching... not to mention the 260s were dropping from 100,000ft at Mach🖕and going going pitbull at like 10 seconds. So not enough reaction time for them to properly defend.
@@lilIAN97huh Your answer raises another question. Officially, the Su-35 has an afar radar with an operating range of 400 km. Question: Why didn’t any plane shoot back? Western planes shot back from afar, and the Su-35s were like blind kittens. You also say that the F-22 is invisible. The F117 pilot also thought so, but he fell because he was shot down by an air defense system as ancient as mammoth shit.
@@ХРЕНОРЕЗthe f117 was lost due to complacency and was shot at from extremely close range, it’s more of a testament to the skill of the air defense operators than it is to say that stealth technology is bad
@@ХРЕНОРЕЗ never said anything about the 22. Its not invisible, just unable to be seen until within a certain range. As to why they didn't shoot back is because just because you can see them on radar doesn't mean that the fighters were within their missiles range. Not to mention all the decoys fired. Their radars would be so saturated the AI flying probably had no clue what they should have been shooting at. There probably would have been some missile shot back if a real person was flying them. Cause they'd at least fire some with out a lock and let the missile figure it out if all else fails.

So a weird question, do you reckon if they modernised an F4 with an AESA Radar and the best missiles we have atm (ignore the whole "it wouldn't be compatable" bit that's not the point), that it would perform better today than it did when the phantom came out originally. The problem with the phantom was it was a bus but the combat was too close range (IR was still very prevalent and radar missiles were only semi active limited to a few miles). Dogfighting is a bit of a thing of the past now so it makes me wonder if the phantom was just really poorly designed for the time period and would have done a lot better later on. Obviously the f15 is better in literally every regard but ignore that

That would have made this mission more challenging for the allied aircraft since they'd have to go defensive well in advance giving the Su-35s time to reach their weapons envelope.
the problem is that the R-37 is still a radar guided missile, and cannot strike the raptors until
Problem is they have nothing to shoot at as they can't see F-22 on their radars.

Hey Cap, I can't find anything about mods for custom AA or HARM missiles online and I am planning to create some of my own on blender. If you could possibly create a tutorial on it I would be so thankful, thanks!
I'll be honest, I don't actually make them. It's mainly CH making them. I don't know how.
Here is what I used to get started. Admittedly I do not do any of the 3D modeling. The guide is a bit old and some things have changed but there isn't much out there

HI cap,
It would be best if you also added Iranian boats with manpads or gun boats it can also pose a threat to usaf

no "fweepage" on the F15 as throttles pass through to reheat :(
Hey Cap, can you do a wargame where China, Russia, Korea, and some random non nation state attack US assets in different locations simultaneously with US defending all locations (or try to) using this same map?
This could be a combined arms of AF and Navy/ Marines.
Will try!

Don't think so?
In real life the MALDS are intelligent and can do all sorts of things. In game they can only go from A to B.
Have any modders made F-15 skins/liveries in Decepticon Seeker colors? That'd be kind fantastic.
I don’t believe Iran has S-400 yet! They do have S-300
Iran Has "Bavar-373"
Wouldn't that VSR mode you made a video about a few days ago be able to distinguish between decoys and missiles, or would the clutter confuse it? I don't know if the S-400 has anything like that, though.
That's a really good point and maybe yes?
@@grimreapers Might be something to test in the unlikely event you run out of better stuff to do... or at least, something to remember if you're defending against such a strike as humans in one of these wargames.
Nice concept but how did Russia get 12 su57s and usaf half with f22 & f35 ? In all reality usaf does a 3:1 ratio on missions
It's a Trap....they came from behind 😅😅😅
Great idea but inclusion of SU-57 in the Iranian air force inventory is very unrealistic. Russia would never export their top fighter, nor trust Iran with it.
It’s a future war game - maybe Russia has an SU-67 by then 😊
It's bullshit war
But 99% of the Iranian eqipments are absent in this game
You would have been better with Russia instead of Iran
I’m pretty sure one of those SU-57 pilots had dark skin….and demonetized 😂

@@grimreapersAh...I figure it out. That doesn't work with missiles...works with planes. Gotta hit F6 for missiles. THAT'S what I was doing wrong. Got it!! 👍
great mission!
Well, history teacher is that that's the way it often goes when the superior bvr tech meets sovblock trash.
Do you have a FREMM model? French or Italian.
