@@wardjunior1450 They're too short, stereotyped and spent the whole episode defelcting bad puns from the 10th Dcotor and rawing their heads off, which worked for a cliffhanger, but not halfway through part 2.
I prefer the more recent armor, plus the way they were written, but something the series 4 versions have going for them is I think the prosthetics for the face are the most lifelike and convincing that we’ve had, Flux included.
I agree! I do think that Chris Chibnall was really good at writing the villians - the Master, the Daleks, the Cybermen and the Sontarans - all really well written.
Sure, except that that ridiculous bit about a Sontaran wanting chocolate or wanting to ride a horse. NuWho reduced to the Sontarans to comic relief villains.
Chibnall REALLY understood the Sontarans better than any writer in New Who I feel. Watching his series I could really tell how much of a fan of the old series he was, with all the references, stories as well as the representation of enemies like the Sontarans. I really loved his run ESPECIALLY Flux and I think and hope that Chibnall will be one of those that wasn't appreciated when he was around but gets appreciated and gets his flowers down the line. "And I wanted to ride a horse." became one of my favorite Sontaran lines lol
I'll always give Chibnall that credit. The only Chibnall story I truly love. And as much as I'm not a fan of his era I'll always hold him to the fact his Sontaran story was brilliant. Always gotta give credit where it's due and by golly gosh did he earn that credit here
Am I the only person who liked the Sontarans in the Two Doctors? And I say that as someone who really liked the Two Doctors. Their costumes and voices were great, the performances brilliant, the story was really good, but the music was absolutely stellar, making the Sontarans really sound like knights!
I agree with all of your Two Doctors love apart from the costumes being great. As with so many monsters in the 1980s, they gave up completely on a prosthetic makeup in favour of a Halloween mask. Love the story, though. And the performances of the Sontarans in it
I agree, I really liked how the Sontaran costumes in the Flux looked kinda cheap (in a good way) and humble like in the old days, they did it with the Sea Devils too
Tbh I don’t mind this scene from Flux but the one problem I have is the sontaran taking way too long to notice that his commander wasn’t stood in front of him 😂

Why show no footage from The Time Warrior? The actual first Sontaran story? But show footage from the cringiest doctor who has ever been. The fan channels are better than the doctor who main channel.
As much as I loved their look for series 4, going back to a more classic look for the Flux really suited them well! 💙
The Series 4 look made them seem funnier, which I suppose helped with Strax.
@@wardjunior1450Scary? They were full on comic relief, going from The Time Warrior to that was a massive step down

I'm 57 and enjoyed them all, but Strax is and always will be my fav :)
And perhaps one day I shall meet you in glorious battle
@@harassed-ou2zb Bravo, girl
Strax is not just potato. He is such a sweet potato.
The war of the Sontarans is probably the best Chibnall episode he had written it’s honestly a really good episode
Presumably in Doctor Who, as Adrift is quite good. And Broadchurch. But I know what you mean.

He wrote the recurring villans really well, it's just a shame he spent his first season inventing new ones.
@@Limes_not_Lemons have you ever watched Torchwood? Countrycide is FANTASTIC.
I have always maintained that the 13th Doctor era was much more like the "classic" series than 8-12. She reminded me a lot of the 5th Doctor.
Whenever they do something like this it just makes me think that they’re coming back.

The Two Doctors is very underrated. ❤❤
Using something closer to the original Sontaran design was one of the very, very few highlights of the Whittaker era.
Really didn't care for the way they somehow morphed into light entertainment under Moffat.

Another Sontaran video from the social media team that completely forgets The Time Warrior
Because it hasn't been released on Blu-ray yet!
I think The Time Warrior is my favourite Third Doctor episode

Can you please do an animated series based on the 3rd Doctor Big Finish audios?
what about Linx from the time warrior
Can imagine if death battle guys, did Sontarans versus Klingons, or clone trooper for star wars
RTD did the Daleks the best. Moffat did the Cybermen the best. Chibnall did the Sontarans the best.
I agree with you with 2 of those.
Kevin Lindsay - BEST Sontaran!

I hope they come back in series 14
Never showed the ones from Sarah Jane adventures..
“Tempura Command” XD
