  • Climate change is dramatically changing our world and lives. We’re starting to witness the spread and shift of neglected tropical diseases into areas they’ve never been seen before. Ahead of #COP28, we asked people affected by neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) what they would like to see from world leaders. Deosaran fell ill with dengue, an NTD transmitted by mosquitoes causing fever and debilitating joint pain. He tells us his story...
Already a major health problem across the world, chief scientists believe dengue fever will become an increasing threat in the southern United States, southern Europe, and new parts of Africa this decade. Dengue remains on the World Health Organization’s list of #NTDs, a list of 20 diseases that are historically underfunded and underinvested in, and commonly affect some of the most vulnerable people in the world.
So join us on December 3rd to announce new commitments to tackle NTDs, including dengue, at the ‪@rlmglobalhealth9198‬ Reaching the Last Mile Forum, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and in collaboration with the ‪@GatesFoundation‬. Together, we can make history, ending neglected tropical diseases in our lifetime.
Let’s invest in neglected tropical diseases.
