Hot Creek Milky Way

This timelapse was shot on 8/9/2024 at Mammoth Hot Creek, near Mammoth Lakes, CA. While it can be a fairly dark place, there are lots of campers in and around the Hot Creek area. There is a very dark road to the left of the canyon, which means that any vehicles traveling on that road will have their bright headlights on. The list of drawbacks is long. However, this was a fantastic shoot when it came to individual photos that escaped the car lights, flashlights and airplane lights. There are two active fumaroles that can be seen in the canyon. There are good reflections of the Milky Way as it passes over the creek. So despite all of the bad shots in this timelapse, there are some really good shots as well.
