So I love very many franchises, the one that I have found will not accept change because of the fans, is Lord of the rings, it is a fascinating subject, and I bring it up and people agree with me that this seems to be the case. I believe that these two games have approached the “it doesn’t say it isn’t canon” approach and unlike some other franchises where one specific character is so much more overpowered, this in my eyes still genuinely feels plausible… until specifically hard-core being told otherwise, I will see it as my own little semi canon because it truly will not ruin anything.
The sequels weren’t written by Lucas, but they’re cannon. No matter how much people will try to somehow deny it. It doesn’t always have to come from the Creator of the franchise. Respectfully
@@ToxicTanks01 respectfully, that comparison doesnt fly for the simple fact that lucas, being the sellout that he is, sold the ownership of star wars, so he doesnt have a say on it anymore. as far as I am aware, tolkien wasnt a sellout and did, in fact, to the day of his death, owned the lord of the rings. so yeah, what tolkien says goes and since hes not here to say anything anymore, nothing that is done outside of his work, simply will never be cannon.
Don't forget he comes back from the dead.
Coolest (and most tragic) thing about him
I don't think he can be turned into a cannon either. He's a long way from a long metal tube.
I mean he is canon, just not main canon. The shadow games are pretty firmly in a slightly alternate middle earth
Very true. There are even familiar characters such as Gollum and Gondorian Cities.
very alternate

The exact way I feel about it. Before the fellowship, there was only Talion.
want a better reason why it isnt cannon? it wasnt written by tolkien.

What ability is that?
I’ll have to check when I’m on next, but it’s unlocked through the Ranged skill tree.
