  • On the 14th of December 2023, we had a major update for the TRYP FPV where absolutely everything changed, including the simulator physics, drone dynamics and management, etc. This, in my opinion, became one of the best FPV drone simulators in the world.
    More info on the video.
    ‪@trypfpv‬, here's a long-awaited video. Thank you for the update!

    Thanks for the update on the update, dude! I only have about 100 hours in Liftoff but the gravity is very unrealistic compared to my drone. This looks like a nice alternative!

    • @fpvcraft
      @fpvcraft  6 місяців тому

      Now is a big difference from Liftoff where TRYP is in the winning side. The gravity feels way much better and there are all sorts of micro adjustments if you’re looking to further improve the drone mechanics.

    Been playing this so much since a couple days ago, and plus the extra updates from today fixed stuff up a lot more. It's amazing.

    • @fpvcraft
      @fpvcraft  6 місяців тому +2

      Didn’t got the chance to play today. Was it an update? That’s so cool! There’s no doubt TRYP is on a quick path to no.1 sim, if they’re not already there.

    • @KatanaFPV
      @KatanaFPV 6 місяців тому +1

      Agreed! Where else can you get almost the complete package? You either get great physics and ok-ish gfx, or great gfx and horrible physics, small maps. Etc. it’s been a huge compromise and you’d have to really think hard about which sim to commit to, most people, (myself included) bought multiple sims to fill in the gap but this is as close as you get to perfection for the cash you spend. The online multiplayer feature is going to really push it over the edge and help connect pilots from around the world, it’s crazy it’s still in beta, technically.

      Oh right, about the updates, some bug fixes, such as the drone spinning wildly out of control for prolonged periods when crashing or clipping an arm/prop… and going through the ground, etc. quality of fixes that I’m actually pretty grateful for, since I was getting a bit frustrated with the way it handles crashes.

    • @fpvcraft
      @fpvcraft  6 місяців тому

      Oh yes. The spinning issue was a bit annoying, but I knew it was on a fast track to fixing because devs were talking about it; I can't wait to try it now.
      And I forgot to mention in the video when you crash, sometimes your drone is below the ground a bit, and you see the texture underneath. That would be so cool if they actually fixed that.
      I do have most FPV simulators out there, and the list is growing. I like to create content around them, don't know why, I just do. But TRYP became my fav one.
      And as you said. Before, you wanted graphics? Bad physics. Do you want good sim physics and drone dynamics? Bad graphics.
      Well, not anymore!

    I don't think I've flown in tryp during the past few weeks. Spend all of my time in velocidrone. Think I'll have to go check out the update and see how it feels, thanks for the heads up.

    its definitely my new favorite sim but The gravity is a little too heavy imo. Flying backwards for example immediately sinks you into the ground unlike in real life. And there should be more throttle punch/pop if these are 5in drones.
    But Making the quad 20 grams less helped me feel more accurate to real world flying

    • @fpvcraft
      @fpvcraft  6 місяців тому

      Yes; I agree with you the gravity feels slightly stronger but adjusting the weight of the quad is a simple fix that’ll do the trick.
      In the video, there are all basic settings so to show it as it is without micro adjustments (except for rates).

      @fpvcraft  Місяць тому

      Is it the DJI Controller 2 or DJI FPV Remote Controller 2? From what drone?
      If it’s from a standard-type of drone, it won’t work. But if it’s the FPV version, it should work; however, don’t use USB-C to USB-C cable as it won’t recognise.
      You must use a USB-C (from controller) to USB-A plus dongle from USB-A to USB-C.
      Only this way it recognises on Mac, if it’s the right controller.

      @@fpvcraft i meant liftoff not betaflight above. Anyway as I could only afford 1 new fpv sim it was down to TRYP FPV, Uncrashed or Velocidrone. I purchased TRYP in Sept and was disappointed and refunded , and was waiting for a steam sale which never happened. On your video I repurchased the updated version and Its great. Thanks. With a 130 hours in liftoff I still suck , but now in TRYP I also suck , but its not because of the unrealistic feel.

    • @fpvcraft
      @fpvcraft  6 місяців тому +2

      That’s super great! I’m confident that with some micro adjustments we can even improve our gameplay experience; but even with the basic setup of the new update, it’s just fantastic. I was afraid for a second that I got super hyped with all these changes and I may not think clear in what I recommend; can’t believe I got so excited from it though.
      And don’t worry. I kinda suck as well. With 2024, I want to reach 1k hours in simulators on top of outdoor FPV flights; I guess as a gamer I largely prefer to spend a lot of time behind FPV simulators; and now with the new TRYP FPV, I have something to look forward to.
      Sorry; again getting super hyped 😁

      Hi. I randomly picked this drone, haven't got through any selection or advanced setup and to see how it flies each drone individually with the new update. I just wanted to record it as it is. I may have to do an update video going through all the settings and calibrations and check each drone individually.

    • @fpvcraft

      Wait.. No. Sorry, must be a misunderstanding. We can’t use Goggles with TRYP; in fact, we can’t use with any simulators except DJI Virtual Flight (at least not the simplest way).
      I was probably referring that they add the “goggles” effect in TRYP, with image noise, 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio, different field of view, etc.

    One thing thats annoying me with this new update is the fact your propellers are always showing no matter what angle the drone is at,surely flying at 35 degrees with a camera fov of 142 which is my actual drones fov - dji fpv ....i can see the propellors being visible when at say 0 degrees to 10 degrees but not 30 onwards. They need to fix this because its super annoying seeing them all the time.
    Other than that the games alot better in visuals and doesnt look as smudgy as the first version i had of the game.

    • @fpvcraft
      @fpvcraft  4 місяці тому +1

      Wait. I’ve also noticed it but didn’t give it too much focus. I guess it doesn’t bother me that much, but what you’re saying is true - it would be nice if they would match propellers-into-frame as per a real FPV drone on different camera angles and FOV (more or less, or simply remove them completely)

    I can report that I tried it and I absolutely hate it. The physics feel terrible when I can get it to fly (only seems to work in race mode). Way too floaty. Can't click menu items because they don't highlight properly - they flash in and out as if I'm moving the mouse away and back. I have to click as fast as I can and hope I hit a time when it's highlighted just to get to a menu. Then when I try to freestyle it starts me out 100 feet in the air and then says 'move sticks to enable physics' and as soon as I do that it drops me to the ground no matter what I do. On my computer it couldn't be a bigger piece of crap. I'll stick to velocidrone where I can actually practice flying.

    • @fpvcraft
      @fpvcraft  5 місяців тому +1

      Hi there; I’m sorry that you struggle with TRYP after the new update. For me works perfectly fine, no interface or clickabe issues. On the other side, one downside is the gravity feels a bit too strong and I had to tweak a few settings to make it a bit more floaty. I don’t know why those things happens to you and manage to have such a terrible experience.
      I also have VelociDrone and used to primarily practice in it, but since this TRYP update, I feel I’m getting more of this simulator.
      Maybe it has a conflict with your computer, I don’t know. What I say, wait for another update or two and see if these issues are fixed for you.
      I really appreciate your feedback and I will also keep it in mind when I’m about to write an article with the new update, if you’re okay with this.

    • @JohnSmith_1331

      @@fpvcraft I believe that the interface issues come from running it in linux with steam compatibility. I booted into windows 10 and ran it and didn't have those issues. So it's possible that the linux emulation is just causing some problems. I could probably iron that out, but when in Windows I tried it some more and I still wasn't happy with the physics. For me one of the issues is that the number of premade quads is small and they are all either 5 or 7 inch. I fly smaller quads - mostly 2 inch at this point, but 3 or 3.5 in the simulators. So if they start adding some smaller quads, or create a tutorial explaining exactly how to set up a custom quad, I'll give it another try.

    • @fpvcraft
      @fpvcraft  5 місяців тому

      This I very much agree with you - I would love some micro quads and 2-3 inch ones, and actually more overall. Liftoff and VelociDrone have tons of. Why can’t TRYP?

    I still like Uncrashed better, because the Tyrp UI is confusing as phwck.
    Uncrashed nailed the dark thene UI. You can get in and out of anything... fast.
    They screwed it up recently thought by adding an extra dialog screen so you can choose snow/rain/sunshine weather... and I was like... why? Put that somewhere else in a settings screen.
    Too bad this hobby has F'n tanked because too many a55hat boys in it now. Nobody watches anybody's FPV videos any more, not even the talking head ones talking about FPV.
