@Steve3085 didn't know if you're commenting on original or agreeing. I lived in Windsor at the time, and the city was complaining about riverfront properties window breaking, after the first night it was pouring rain and I was sitting in a drive thru, it was totally silent, I thought I lost my hearing forever. Lol
THANK YOU for this! I'm in the crowd on the floor right in front of this particular cameraman. What an UNBELIEVABLE NIGHT! The last time I saw Metallica was Dec. 31, 1999, New Year's Eve Pontiac Silver Dome. I was right up to the stage then too. I made certain I would see them again. This time 100% sober and it was the most EPIC night of my life.
I was there with all my kids and their boyfriends and girlfriends absolutely one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to and I’ve been to a ton of them i’m already eyeing Metallica at soldier Field in August 2024!
My son and had the best weekend too. Went over to Ann Arbor Saturday pm and watched an overtime/shootout win by Michigan hockey team over Minnesota. Also stopped by Motown studio/museum and went in where old Navin/Briggs/Tiger Stadium stood. And found best sportscard store I Ypsilanti to boot!
It’s not about how big a band but lets face it they are considered old if from the 80s early 90s. Don’t think that everyone should like music you like because great bands still are good.I found that out when young people today class grunge bands as dad rockers.
I was there. Great concert, all around. Mammoth WVH opened, and was really good. Pantera rocked the place and truly gave a powerful set. But Metallica?! Unbelievable. Yet, they were EPIC last night (11/12/23). Ice Nine Kills opened and was followed by Five Finger Death Punch. I will definitely be going the next time they are in Detroit.
I’ve seen a lot of metal bands and I’ll gladly say I love pantera and I’ve never felt power like Pantera holy shit I was so stoked Metallica killed it hard core
Was there. I honestly think it was the best I've ever heard Metallica sound. And I've been going to their shows since early 80's!!! Definitely gonna go to the Chicago weekend next year!!!
I'm so ashamed of myself for missing the first show! I did make it to the second show and they were as good as ever.....I will say the sound quality of Ford Field wasn't the greatest for where we were sitting but it was still the best show I've ever been too. Crazy energy from the people. James sounds better than ever on vocals man.
I'm glad I went to Belle Isle 2013. The speaker setup had 200+ tower concert speakers, lost count. I was deaf for a week and we were running the ground moshing and jumping around. Slouch a different scenario here.
Where’s the Pantera show?😂 Primo!! I was probably 1 section to your left. From there I had a hard time hearing Kirk’s solo.😢Very clear from your section🤘. Killer show otherwise
I know and it astonishes me that a majority of the folks would sit at a Metallica concert. I have been to 38 Metallica shows with 2 more coming next year and I never thought I would see so many people sit through a Metallica concert as I have on this tour. I actually sold my ticket (it was in a great spot in the stands) so I could buy a floor seat which I did.
I have been a huge Metallica fan since 1981 before anybody but the band members new who they were.... my friends and family thought I was crazy listening to this new heavy metal that is now the biggest band in the world. I've seen Metallica a few dozen times since they were still playing with Cliff Burton. Everything they came through Michigan I would wait in line at a ticket master or record store over night to buy tickets.... Now you could not pay me to go see them anymore... Live Nation and the music industry has ruined music and the experience of a good show. Metallica is just ripping off their fans for as much money as they can before they are no longer around. They get everything handed to them on a golden platter.... Only the best for Metallica..... hopefully they get what they want.... lol..... The music industry is horrible now Live Nation took it over..... Fuck you Live Nation!!!!
Of course he isn't. Its just sorcery that beign unable to play you create parts and perrform and arrange them like in the classic albums. Anybody can do that ... No seriously, how clueless you can be ?
He's the drummer for Metallica dude, Metallica. & has been for over 40 years. Arguably one of the biggest if not the biggest rock band for DECADES straight. If it wasn't for Lars there wouldn't be a Metallica. Kind of a shitty thing to say on a fan vid, so why say it?

Was there too, they killed it for Detroit. Sound & show truly amazing! If you haven't seen Metallica lately I'd highly recommend it. 🤘
2013 Belle Isle. Ears are still ringing
I was there as well. It is amazing feeling the music pulse through me. Amazing show.
@@gjptmpmnp Detroit? Or Belle Isle?
@@puvlea83 I was at that show as well

Last time I had seen them was 1995 at Sodfest in Columbus
Epic is the ONLY way to describe a Metallica show my friend!!!!
I WAS THERE WITH MY FRIEND AND IT WAS LITERALLY THE BEST NIGHT OF MY ENTIRE DAMN LIFE OML
Met James @ his book signing. Still geeked up!!!
I was there with all my kids and their boyfriends and girlfriends absolutely one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to and I’ve been to a ton of them i’m already eyeing Metallica at soldier Field in August 2024!
I was there as well I stood for the entire setlist and just got into the music can't wait to see what they play tonight
My eighth Metallica show!! They sound better every time!! The absolutely blew the roof off ford field!!
Yes they blew the roof off of my stadium. Ford is my daddy 😂😂
Bad ass, they sound so good. Best band ever

Sounds great! Glad we still have these guys jamming. Metallica lives.
Looks like the only old timer band worth seeing. They really have heart in sole in it especially for a stadium.
Old timer band 😆 c'mon - how many bands are bigger than Metallica today in 2023?
It’s not about how big a band but lets face it they are considered old if from the 80s early 90s. Don’t think that everyone should like music you like because great bands still are good.I found that out when young people today class grunge bands as dad rockers.
Maiden still rocks too

Really cool capture, especially the audio, I enjoy the LM recordings, but I think I like this more. Thank you for sharing!

Man, ALL these comments are the same...I love it. The Metallica family is strong and powerful!
Such a great show! Both nights were incredible!
First time seeing them since 99 at the silverdome and I was blown away I want more
That explosion at the beginning was so fucking loud lol no video does it justice ... I was there. Thank you for this !
How about the pyrotechnics at the end of Enter Sandman?? Can't explain it-must see it. Videotaped Sandman for the grandkids-just had too!
This is what I missed after breaking my wrist in the pit during Pantera! Rock on for posting what I missed.
1st ever metallica show and it was unforgettable I was 10 feet from James and the guys
What an awesome weekend in the D! 🤘🤘
Fantastic setlist !!
THANK YOU FOR THE KICK ASS RECORDING
The historical Peter Green 59 les paul sounded magnificent!!! Primo!!!

Wishing I would have stayed for the Metallica set. But i had too get some fresh air. 21:56 I heard out in the smoking sec. Thanks for sharing.
Metallica...Hail Yeah
I was there it was amazing
Such a good show all 3 bands where great i loved seeing pantera as well such good set list.
I'm glad I went to Belle Isle 2013. The speaker setup had 200+ tower concert speakers, lost count. I was deaf for a week and we were running the ground moshing and jumping around. Slouch a different scenario here.
Well that was also over a decade ago
@MitchJohnson0110 yes it was. And I'd never sit for a metallica concert.
It’s about time they played Abbey Road in full
HOPE YOU HAD A BASH ! "THANK YOU" !
I was there!!
1 hour full show? Should play longer than that!!!
You going to see them in Munich?
Sure!
@@elkeliebram5722 cool! I seen them both nights in Detroit!! I am still recovering hahaha
Davon mußt du dich erholen??? Du mußt es fühlen, dann wirst du süchtig nach Metallica. Irgend etwas machst du falsch. 😜🤣🤣🤣
@@elkeliebram5722to much beer!!
Good job. My phone sucked and I was high up
I must have been 2 or 3 rows behind you we had almost exzact same view lol
GO LIONS!
Metallica sounds better today than they did in 1990.
This has to be the show on the North American leg by far. They seem into it
I’m that camera guy on the tower to your right.
your camera has a fantastic mic
James is really sounding like that dude from Volbeat.
Cool video but NOT the full concert, they played 16 songs each night! Awesome variety of songs on this tour! over 45 songs on the tour set list!
I wos there with my friend it’s wos good 🤘🤘

Is those just effects on the voice or is he getting help from the tape?
Its just the half show
Why doesn't James like "leper Messiah" ? I love that song ? He always sings it's weird too.
The subject maybe
Whole concert? ....so they only played an hour?
no lol
Nah, they closed with Master of Puppets after first playing a few more songs
I was there two hours and 10 minutes
Imagine spending an entire hour at a Metallica concert holding a phone....
Just isn't the same for me without Newsted. Sorry Trullijo.
Exactly when did Metallica ever morph into a millennial " Heavy Band " (?)
Short Show
Deadmen show...
Another 1 from the crappy seats and awful filming. Stopped after 70 seconds
F🤨RD🇨🇮_'Bagpipes'😅
Only a 10song set 1 hour Ridiculous
When r u going to download pt 2?
The crowd looks bored to hell... no one headbanging or anything......they probably don't know any song but Enter Sandman...

The arena was JAMMED.
youd be knocking out the person beside you out with a jump and an arm raise
Now everybody go watch Nassau 86. I was there 3 rd to first row all night in front of cliff.
I was headbanging the entire time. My head almost came right off. I was also screaming my lungs out the entire time
