She's a living and born echo as well as birth memory of the spirit of her land. Nobody else sounds like Bjork. Even if in the future they try desperately to copy her, it would be a technical exhibition, void of the spurts of determination and jolts of sound like a volcano.
Tanja This genuinely is the oddest reply I think I’ve ever read. What a bizarre comeback and to such a relatively unimportant comment I’d made in the first place. You sad, odd idiot. Also. Nonsense. I actually love a glass of champagne.
This and 'Joga' on Jools Holland 1997 are two of the best live performances I've ever seen on television and I'm quite old, I've seen a lot. She is absolutely PHENOMENAL
I saw Bjork live three times. She is the best. Voice, lyrics, passion. She has it all. She the only singer that made me cry. She is completely underrated. I remember buying her album on cassette in 1997. Bachelorette is the best song she ever did.
Al Ramsey I only saw her perform once back in 2011 and I literally passed out within 30 seconds of her hitting the stage. Her energy was that powerful.
I had the opportunity to see her live twice also... and cried both times. Truly emotional, powerful performance. Just in awe. The only other group who I can say was maybe a close second was seeing Pet Shop Boys live also.
Out of all of her performances, this one is absolutely the BEST rendition of this song. She is subdued and right on key, and the orchestra is fabulous. She looks great and I love how she closes hers hands with each beat in the beginning of the song.
What incredible lyrics in that opening verse: I'm a fountain of blood In the shape of a girl You're the bird on the brim Hypnotised by the whirl Drink me, make me feel real Wet your beak in the stream Game we're playing is life Love's a two-way dream
@@honeybee1256 She is such an underrated genius of our time. In many documentaries they don't even mention her at all. And she is surely on the top 3 at least in the 90'. An unique complete artist.
No one touches her talent both in execution and creativity. She is a unique singer and artist that grew up singing live from and early age and this video really shows off how insanely talented she was. Those in the know will realize how "perfect" this performance is. "Beauty resists capture"
One of the very few artists that allows me to abstract and feel like i'm in a dream-like state, like i escape reality while she's performing. That's beyond talent, that's magic. Love you Björk, thank you
Every note, every hand motion, body position, extened jaw, amount air volume, key, timbre, lyrical theme is not normal. Her creations are not normal because of their profound quality only a unified soul can produce, knowing her message precisely, knowing who she is precisely. Few vocalists make me feel honored to listen. I am very moved.
I really love how, as the song ends, she steps back away from the microphone and stands with the musicians - giving up the stage to them! Classy performer.
. . . a diamond bullet right to my forehead. And then I realized that they were stronger than me, because they could stand it . . . I am a bit weirdo. I even impersonate Brando's face during that monologue.
No one .there was one in an other registre but He's died Last year : Mark Hollis. Who sung with such conviction and sensibility and honnesty. Great singers.
I'll never forget the first time I heard her voice. I was in 7th grade. Our teacher left the room and we turned on MTV and the music video for this was playing.
That blend of immense talent in every aspect of her songs, that voice that (in Bono's words) can cut through concrete, together with just a bit of compelling awkwardness and shyness . She's perfect.
You know people talk about Adele and other pop singers. Here you got a really really good singer breaking all kinds of vocal limits. She has some pipes.
Some pipes, and some serious bravery to express her individualism, and on and on and on. I, rightfully, pay attention to her lyrics, etc., like I do few other artists.
Everything about this performance is riveting. Her anguished voice, the devastating lyrics. She is beautiful and has such a singular talent. I don't know why she has not done a James Bond song, she would be perfect.
Bjork's talent is so immense there just isn't a scale to measure it by and thus transcends all forms of criticism. During the magical time period of her performances one loses one's own identity and merely exist until the song ends and suddenly you are abruptly returned back to reality. Simply astounding.
No one can cover Bjork. No one. Update......after reviewing replies. Yes yes yes other singers can cover Bjork songs and do a good job with their own renditions of Bjork songs. No one can come close to how Bjork sings. That was my point.

I'm a path of cinders
Burning under your feet
You're the one who walks me

When I beckon you near

One for each that you take
