- Polar Bears Greet/Nuzzle Each Other - 10/9/24
"A train of Tundra Buggies in Canada's Wapusk National Park is the perfect place to see a polar bear up close. Watch live and learn more about this incredible species on Explore.org"
So excited the Polar Bears are back! These 2 bears greet each other and nuzzle. It warms my heart to see these big creatures (similar to some of the Katmai Brown Bears), be so gentle/affectionate with each other.
Below is more information regarding nuzzles:
Polar bears nuzzle each other for a variety of reasons, including:
Play:
Male polar bears play fight by gently touching or "mouthing" each other around the face and neck. They may also rear up on their hind legs and try to push each other over.
Greeting:
Polar bears greet each other by smelling each other's faces and bodies. They may also go mouth to mouth, opening their mouths toward each other's faces without biting down.
Communication:
Polar bears communicate with each other through body language, vocalizations, and scent markings. For example, a bear may gently touch another bear's nose with its own to request food.

❤Love this❤Thanks for sharing❤
You are so welcome! 😊
That's so sweet! You expect a mama and cubs to be that affectionate, but I wouldn't expect it with two adults, unless that is a grown cub?
Thank you for this sweet video❣️

I wonder if these bears are siblings?
I know? I wish I knew more bout them. I looked up info on Polar Bears International, and info was kinda vague. It sure seems like they are related. So tender. I think it's my fave thing, to see animals show affection.
