Thanks again as I've done my second one and only have one to go! My latest one was in the pilothouse and it took me much more time to get it out of the instrument cluster area than it did to replace the LCD. I'll take care of the last one in my next trip.
Thank you very much for your instructive video, before having seen it I was considering changing the entire tachometer (very expensive) now with a reduced expense I have solved the problem.
If you have a newer version of Tachometer with a silver ring its not made for open up and replacement of LCD is rather hard as example the grade is glued and not screwed in (I did it on my KAD300 from 2003)
Hi Daniel, thanks for the tacho lcd video; you've given me encouragement to do the same with mine. I presume that when you install the new lcd it automatically shows the previous engine hours? May I ask who was the supplier of the lcd screen? TIA Glenn, Brisbane, Australia
1 year later, sorry. I don’t receive notifications on these comments. But this is just replacing the screen which displays the hours. The chip holds the hours. This repair is to just so you can read out your hours as they actually are.

Thank you so much as I watched your video, installed a new LCD on mine, and now I see hours! Now I'll do two more.

How do I know which LCD fits me VDO Tach/Odometer ?
Is there a VDO P/N cross reference?
Or just assume they all use the same LCD?
how did you up date the read out of current hours on the new hour read out

Can I read hours from a broken tacho? lcd is fine…
How can i buy this lcd and whats the cost of in pk rupees?
Do the hours continue or they start from 0 again?
they are stored on a chip so your hours are counted irrespective of the display, so does not start over from 0
