You don’t need to replace the whole housing anymore. You can just replace that square gasket fitting in spot with aluminum built piece. Surprisingly, only that spot where it breaks off, you can just pull out that piece by hand. Think bmw already new that it breaks easily and built it as the replacement piece lol
Would be better buying the BMW seal set and checking the new case interface accuracy, I've heard the seal set supplied with the Aluminium case leaked in months.
I can't find these metal connectors for the cylinder head return hose. I would really appreciate it if you could share a link or information on where I can buy them. Thank you very much.
I can’t find any either. I’m just going to replace it with an oem one. My 19 X3 is at 70k miles and still no leaks from the flange or hose but when I do the oil filter housing I will replace it with an oem one.
@@RKSAINThave you chosen an aluminum housing for the b48tu yet? I see some on eBay that are aluminum thinking of getting one and replacing seals with oem seals
@@seanshiver yes I will be buying the Rein automotive all aluminum oil filter housing and using oem bmw gaskets just to be double sure I get no leaks. It’s for sale at FCP Euro for 280.
Hi Han. Can you comment on experience with aluminum oil housing ? Any issues ? What brand did you get ? Plastic BMW OE part is $300 +. I am seeing these aluminum knock offs for $60 on Internet but can't find any reviews. Thank you for the video !
In the process of finding a aluminum one as well. Did anyone get any reviews on the aluminum parts? I really don’t want to have to replace this any time soon . I’ve already replaced the oil filter housing(plastic) and only been 6 months I need to replace again so I’m going to try an aluminum one just wanted reviews
Any problem with aluminum one
Where u get the hose and those metal click connectors u have a link
I need one, link please
I would also like to know how the new housing has done as I may like to try one as well.
I have read that the new housing is amazing if you use the OEM gaskets and the OEM spring that's inside of the plastic housing.
Does this effect the 2019-2024 G20 3 series? And I guess the 530i, etc
Yep.

Be careful with the aluminum housings they tend to hold higher temperatures for longer periods of time .
