Thanks for the excellent video. I was alarmed by this issue from lots of videos on line so I managed to get after market machined Aluminium connectors and high pressure silicone hose online, and made my own. I believe this can completely resolve this problem, as the the BMW replacement looks just the same as the old one. I am not comfortable with these plastic components working under high temperature. I had one charge air line (plastic) cracked and leaked oil on to the alternator belt , causing the belt to snap and the car being towed.

The kicker is, BMW knows the part is bad from the factory. Mine went at 44k
The kicker is, BMW knows the part is bad from the factory. They replaced the original part with a newer part with a different part number, apparently from what I’ve read it’s a different plastic that is less susceptible to chemical & heat degradation. Was also told by a BMW tech that if I would have purchased my car from the dealership where I had some warranty work done they would have replaced it without asking before it became a problem. Not sure if that is the case but the dealership doesn’t have a great rep for general customer support unless you purchase from them……..even though it was a BMW under warranty!!!!! Not gonna bad mouth them by name cause the one service rep that helped me out the second time was awesome, the first one half ass’d the job it seemed.
