Of all the groups so far this season, I think I’m most impressed with the Blue Stars’ level of clarity so early in the season. Such a strong approach to the drum.
Ditto!
I like em a lot too, I think it’s SCV for me tho
Thanks for the share! Big shoutout to Greg and the entire team at Blue Stars for being so inviting in the lot. Blue Stars are cookin again this year and I’m very excited to see this group in August! Crazy good stuff!
Greg Power is caption head, Tony Nunez wrote the book
Im a simple man: I see a Aged Out Podcast episode drop, I comment for the algorithm 🔥
😎✊
Bass drums 🟰 TRIPLET ROLLS ON 🔥🔥🔥 They are cooking with gas !
I really dig the fluidity of this book - super sick! Excellent execution as well! 💙
Percussion judges need to be back on the field with the line 💯✊
We wish!
heartily agree. were they pulled for safety reasons? i can't remember the rationale put forth....
@@TheShahtariq That's the reason DCI gave for the change, but they also replaced the second percussion judge with a second music analysis judge, which was something that certain directors/staff of the member corps had been trying to get passed for a while. Ideally we'd have 2 judges again with one being on the field for battery clarity.
@@willieburke1334 ah, thx--yeah man, im 100% on board w/ returning to 2 judges...i have many thoughts/opinions on the state of judging in dci, how the sheets are structured, and the direction which the activity is being led (lol, as a fmm, i guess i should take a number), so i'll just say i think everyone has the best of intentions here, but that there is a better way, one in which judges are safely on the field so groups are scored as accurately and fairly as possible, the corps' product is awesome, and no one gets killed, lol--cheers!
it was cool seeing you guys up at Mason. lotta good stuff in those lots.. see ya at finals
See ya there!
Let’s go center snare payton!! From Ohio state, Killer player
Stoneman Douglas HS alum!
People acknowledging the Blue Stars 😲
Easy answer to the judge scores being weird - Julie Davila
is she a bad judge?
@@TheShahtariq based off of judge tapes and critique feedback over the past 5 years I will say I have a strong disagreement with her number management and feedback. Again my personal opinion.
Tenors are 🔥🔥🔥
Not molar not Spock but Mac roles! My take on Fantini-isms!
For the algorithm. ✊
Incredible book and line to play it.
I will say I don’t vibe with their show in totality, I think they suffer a little of last years cavies problem where the visuals, and hornline just haven’t risen to the drumlines success so far. I hope the season treats them well, stars have been one of my favourites since 15 but I guess they’re just on a stretch of show design that hasn’t quite caught my eye as much.
yeah man, LBS scoring surprisingly low...haven't seen their full show yet though, and it is pretty early, so we'll see! either way, they're doing good work and making nice sounds, hope they get rewarded for it sooner or later!
this is basically arcadia hs battery staff. I think the last time tony nunez wrote a dci book was crown 2015 so that's probably why it sounds fresh hahaha... correction he was sound designer at 2015
I don’t think Tony wrote Crown 2015. Im like 99% sure that was a combo of Hannum, Aungst and Peterman. But… this is fresh.
Yeah Emerson!
Are you guys going to be in Atlanta for South East championships? I love your content so very much and got to meet you at WGI championships and hoping to run into you guys again. Truly my favorite dci/wgi content creators
Thanks for the kind words! Currently only planning to attend finals in Indy.
What is a Mac roll?
Santa Clara Vanguard then Bluestars in drums.
As much as I love Bloo, they really ruined the meta of show transparency. Everyone thinks the shortcut to success is waiting an hour until your first show to drop all details. And now judges are getting flayed for "robbing" groups because they're blind judging.
Scoring is wack fs. But real recognize real
quads go stupid
