Since this is the second installment of, 'Matt destroying things', we have officially named this process as “BACKWOODS DESTRUCTIVE TESTING!!!” In this episode, we are going to destructively destroy some of our RAM TECH leashes, better known as Biothane. All these leashes as made here in the USA from the biothane the stitch and riveting.
First, we start out with a favorite here at Ray Allen: shooting. We like shooting and this is a good way to see how much stress we can put into destroying the product. Even with some buckshot in the leash is still drags the 1000+ pound bail around for a little before ripping. Next, we see what the leashes are made of with a weight pull test. From 1/4-3/4 width Biothane. The weight we are given is rated at 250lb per 1/4” of webbing. So a 1/4” width of Biothane is 250lb and 3/4 is rated at 750lb. The wider the stronger it is. We use both brass snaps (500lb rated) and stainless steel snaps (600lbs) rated.
It’s awesome for us to actually see that most, if not all, the leashes broke at almost double!!! That’s crazy! Knowing that the leash load rates at, let's say, 500lb (which is more than your arms would hold) is good. But seeing that these bad boys could hold more than double that is great.
THIS IS WHY WE ARE DOING THIS! Not only is our gear built to last but we prove it. Go pick up a Biothane leash today!! THIS IS QUALITY, THIS IS RAY ALLEN.

Anytime you double something its going to be twice as strong. If you would have tripled it, it would have been 3 times as strong and so on. Interesting video, thanks for posting.

since the leash is doubled on your video, you should divide all of your numbers in half. Right?
