Taking pickle ball seriously and trying hard to win isn’t a bad thing either.. To each is own but I’m not really just out there to “have fun” I have more fun getting great exercise and tbh who doesn’t love winning
I will say, depending on the culture of the courts you play on, it might be totally fine to send it on all of your serves. I know many people who actually would hate if I sent an easy serve their way. A lot of the players at my home courts are 3.5-4.5 players that want to play harder and get better. Some places are filled with competitive people, and I can totally see people actually disliking someone going easy on them. In fact, I’d go as far to say that for some people, an easy serve is a little disrespectful! Feel it out, see how people on the courts play, and if they’re the type you’ll know. Don’t be afraid to send it if they are! Have fun!
Dont slam on new people. One of the first games I ever played was against someone much better and they slammed every shot making it not fun at all. I learned from this, when I play new people I keep them in it so they can have fun. I'll call it out so they can learn that I could have slammed it but then I give them a nice easy dink so they can learn.
Open rec play should no longer be the dominant theme or the primary way pickleball should be played. Open play should be limited to off times, and courts should be first come first serve, like every other venue. The idea that a small group of people can impose this open play, paddle up idea on a family or someone already on the court, is only good for retirees or those that desend on the courts en masse. Maybe challenge courts or designated levels of skills for participants should begin to be phased in. Also these ideas are just common courtesy and if someone does not know this should probably just stay home. IMO
Feel free to reserve courts then. Nobody’s forcing families to break up 🙄 And most clubs around me do skill based and challenge courts during open play

I think his point is, “Read the room.”
Dont lob mobile challenged people. Don't pick on the girl in mixed play. Dont slam too hard on beginners or old ladies. Hmmm....what else? Good video!
thanks!
Unless she's the better player. I seem to always hit to the better player. I want to see what they do.
@@HeavyAndLow You would be an exception in rec play.
True you shouldn't lob them. The question is why do they lob me all the time lol

Best pickle channel ever! 💖
Wow thank you!
The bend your knees part had me howling lol
These etiquette tips are spot on! Someone at our open play provides unsolicited coaching and it drives me nuts! Thanks for sharing. 🙂
ha you're definitely not alone! Glad you like the video
Yes! Cool down on the serves, please! We're 2.5 here. :(
haha
Wow! Common sense. But I guess common sense isn't common anymore! Lmfao!
I’ve argued 3 calls in the last 2 years. It’s because it was like the 2nd 3rd or 4th missed call in a game and it was by a lot.
sometimes we do gotta argue
Hey ! I hope this video goes viral! ❤
Thank you, Jerry!
Great video bro - excellent 😊

Keep the 14 year olds from playing with seniors !
