From 1966 to 1976. Every player that won the ballon d'Or, either won the European Cup the World Cup or the Euro, barring 1967, 1970 & 1974, 1975. From 2006 to 2018. It was the same barring, 2010, 2012, 2013. Clearly, winning these big trophies & putting in clutch performances, backed by solid domestic league performances, have a massive sway with the voters
One of the most obvious examples actually was in 2010 when Wesley Sneider and Arjen Robben, both of whom played finals in both the Champions League with their respective clubs and the World Cup with their national team and one of whom became one of the top goalscorers of the latter, lost to Leo Messi who failed to score a single goal in 5 games for Argentina and pretty much won nothing that season.
Time to body this low IQ take. Messi stats: (2010) Matches: 64 Goals: 60 Assists: 17 *He scored a goal every 89 minutes.* *He contributed a goal every 69 minutes.* Thats a goal a game. But because he didn't win Team Trophies it isn't deserved? What a shit take.
You're right, Barcelona only won four trophies in 2009-10, including La Liga with a record 99 points. And 47 goals for Messi during the season isn't that great, is it?
Day 115: "Final Yugoslavia First League Teams: Where are they now?" would be interesting with Red Star winning the 90s CL but then falling from grace as a lot of teams in the region. + maybe how a lot of them changed names or logos as socialism felt off (loosing a red star etc.)
I will defend Roy Hodgson's decision to name Javier Mascherano. I'm not sure about the whole of the year, but for my money he was distinctly the best player at the 2014 World Cup, and contributed more to Argentina's runner-up performance than Messi did. (This is quite apparent just from the scorelines, Argentina won several games 1-0, and their results owed far more to defensive solidity than attacking flair.)
@@srikariyer8544 Messi certainly wasn't an unworthy choice but Lewandowski has been killing it for two years straight. I've never seen such a stagemanaged progression of play. Liverpool & City kicked off at marginally different times, highly unlikely first goalscorers in both games to make $$$ for the bookies, gamestates that kept the league 'wide open' whilst never actually changing the destination of the title in the 'live table'. was convinced it was rigged as it happened, said City would come back to win the game and that Liverpool would only take the lead once City were back ahead. panned out exactly like that. definitely needs scrutiny.

Day 63: 7 worst players who scored a hattrick in either the premier or champions league
giroud
Did Ronny Rosenthal get a hat-trick in the premier league? I wouldn't call him the worst, but he was VERY inconsistent!
Shit idea, how do you define worst player? Any player can have e great day and score a hattrick, doesn't mean they are best or worst.
Arda Turan
One of the most obvious examples actually was in 2010 when Wesley Sneider and Arjen Robben, both of whom played finals in both the Champions League with their respective clubs and the World Cup with their national team and one of whom became one of the top goalscorers of the latter, lost to Leo Messi who failed to score a single goal in 5 games for Argentina and pretty much won nothing that season.
Oh it’s happened so many times if you look closely.
Iniesta in 2010
@@FournovateWebsiteExpert also Ribery dont forget
@@keni8435 besides his club treble, ribery is the beast at that time. Uefa player of the year
Time to body this low IQ take.
Messi stats:
(2010)
Matches: 64
Goals: 60
Assists: 17
*He scored a goal every 89 minutes.*
*He contributed a goal every 69 minutes.*
Thats a goal a game. But because he didn't win Team Trophies it isn't deserved? What a shit take.
You're right, Barcelona only won four trophies in 2009-10, including La Liga with a record 99 points. And 47 goals for Messi during the season isn't that great, is it?
Day 115:
"Final Yugoslavia First League Teams: Where are they now?" would be interesting with Red Star winning the 90s CL but then falling from grace as a lot of teams in the region.
+ maybe how a lot of them changed names or logos as socialism felt off (loosing a red star etc.)
Fucking war.. So much People died while a couple of scumbags got rich... Usa holds 50 states together we cant hold 6..😥😢
Absolutely, here in Argentina Mascherano was such a hero that several people changed their social media profiles to include him

Happy to say I'm here again after Lewandowski was snubbed, time to restore some faith in humanity by watching this again...
Me too.
Messi deserved it 50 50 with lewy
@@srikariyer8544 Messi certainly wasn't an unworthy choice but Lewandowski has been killing it for two years straight. I understand why Messi won and I'm not really upset by it, but it would be nice to see Lewy get some recognition, especially since Messi hasn't exactly set the world on fire since the new club season started.
Note that I'm a Liverpool supporter, not a Bayern Munich fan. I guess part of it comes down to me wanting to see someone other than Messi and Ronaldo get the award some time. Those two have still been great the last few seasons but they're getting older and no longer head and shoulders above their peers like they used to be. Maybe I'm still pissed off that Virgil van Dijk didn't win it in 2019 too.😁
@@srikariyer8544 Thats an opinion I absolutely respect, but I'm gonna have to politely disagree. What makes the difference for me was Messis relatively slow start at PSG (for his standarts), while Lewy just continued where he left off after the last 2 seasons. Don't get me wrong, Messi is the greatest player of all time imo, but right now, I think Lewandowski is a bit better.

In fairness, although this isn’t his best and the videos are long, compared to other ones, you can tell how much research is put into them and they are very informative and in-depth
I genuinely haven’t laughed at a UA-cam video this much in a while, the pure sarcasm running through this makes me proud to have gotten 0 votes in Eurovision.
Ballon d or has absolutely became a popularity contest, no real value based on talent or stats. It s ridiculous. Lewondovski should have won it. France football wanted to give it to one of theirs, it s that simple. Ballon d or and France football have no credibility. It s all politics, nothing else. The fact that france football chose to cancel and disregard the possible winner for 2020 says it all - they werent able to give it messi and so they just chose to cancel it. It s disgusting.
What will it take for Robert Lewandowski to win a Ballon d'Or?

Thing about Ballon d’Ors is that they keep changing their criteria for some reason…sometimes it’s about how many trophies the said individual one….other times its the individual performances and stats that matter..
No the criteria is the same, only people and fans change it. They only changed when FIFA was in charge of the Ballon d'Or , but by that time we knew it was rigged but peoole didn't want to admit it.

Ballon d'Or award honours the male player deemed to have performed the best over the previous year, based on voting by football journalists. After 2007, coaches and captains of national teams were also given the right to vote.
The public cannot vote for Ballon d’Ors….you are confusing FIFA BEST with Ballon d’Or..
Pray tell me what the criteria is…as Modric wasn’t individually as great as Messi or cr7 in 2018 yet won the Ballon d’Or..
Yet, Messi won the Ballon d’Or in 2019 although his Team Achievements weren’t as great as Van Dijk’s..
Depends how real Madrid and Barcelona do in Europe
I feel like Ballon dor should only be able to be won by a player once. Have it be an achievement instead of a trophy
And what if a player wins because of an insane prime and another year they do even better and don't win? That's not achievement award that's just a meaningless trophy then

love watching your catalogue on football corruption. my club is far more successful now than it was a decade ago, but the last decade has definitely opened my eyes to how rigged the sport is. ever since that laughable RVP red card vs Barca I've seen it on and off the pitch. would love you to take a look at the final day of this season's premier league.
