This proves to me that music is your passion and it doesn’t matter what your method is it creates interesting results that come from your soul. Thanks for posting I shall try this way as I have written some lyrics but never matched them to melodies I have written.
I have never written like this before. I always start with melody FIRST and then FIND the lyrics that fit it perfectly. This to me is like how A famous sculptor once said when asked how does he make such beautiful marble statues. He said I see the statue inside the block and just remove what is not the statue. So the sculptor starts with the statue already in his head. That's how I write songs. I start with the melodies and then let the perfect lyrics just fall into place. If it doesn't fit perfectly then its not for this melody. :-) The method in this video, to me, seems so more challenging and you are not really guaranteed to have an amazing melody. All great songs, ALL of them, the best of all time, all have amazing melodies. But I respect this method and will do it one day just to feel it out. Thanks for sharing it.
Well why aren't you guaranteed to have an amazing melodi this way? :) What you describe is one way yes, but I don't believe in doing music in one way, I believe in always finder new methods to challenge my self with, I believe music is about exploring and experimenting :) Can I hear your music? :)
This also makes more sense to me since sometimes I feel like melodies transmit more emotions than words, therefor melodies have priority over lyrics. But sometimes you come up with some lyrics and you dont have a melody yet. This method would be very helpful for those moments. Also everyones brain works differently.
There is no right or wrong...for me, lyrics come easy, I have loads of song lyrics written. Once I'm happy with a piece, I find it very easy to head to the piano or pick up a guitar and write a melody. Trying to write lyrics that fit over a melody is way too restrictive for me.
this is a super cool video! I've always felt I have lots of stories to tell that I want to turn into music, but I can never put melodies to the lyrics I've been writing for years. Also, super cool structure to the video, kept my attention from start to finish!
What a great video! Found what I really came looking for, writing a vocal melody :) Please! Please make some more videos on step by step melody writing for a whole pop/R&b song from it's beat.
I think the most interesting results come from chord substitutions in your progression and the melody incorporating the new note that is not in the scale. At least one of those chords somewhere in your progression (perhaps toward the end of cycle, like a Picardy Third) or prior to a change or section.
Thanks for the video, I'll try it out for sure. I have been struggling for quite some time... I can write lyrics, rhymes and in many topics, but I rarely find fitting melodies... Thank you! I have never heard about a "vocal pitch monitor" before, but it looks like an app that tells you what note you're singing- and by doing a quick google search it looks like there are at least two options for IOS :)
Interesting way to come up with ideas - but the backing is distracting and you can hardly hear the melody piano plus you have a single note piano in the backing! It would have helped if you had added a percussion instrument to keep time 🤨

Im stilll confused as to the relation of how to add melodies to the "lyricless" music, is there a rule or do I just find a melody that suits the music?
There are no other rules than choosing what excites you. There are a lot of misconceptions about you having to use theory to choose notes, but theory only explains what the function and relations are, and theory will tell you that you can use all 12 different notes with all chords:) Theory is like a navigation system, it can tell you what you did, or how to come to a specific place, but it can't tell you where you want to go or where to go to make you happy :) Theory can tell you how to copy a song or tell you that you used a dominant 7th chord, but it can't tell you what you like or what will make you happy :)
Thank you very much, I actually only made the song to demonstrate the technique, but I think I should finish it this year, thank you for your motivation! 🥰

I write lyrics, but have no way to turn them into music, and I don't sing. I've put my lyrics to music and vocals through an AI program. My problem is with the perception of using AI. The lyrics are 100% mine. If I use AI to get the music and vocals and present it as a DEMO, I don't see the problem. I take my lyrics, put AI music and vocals, hand that to a live person, who takes it an puts his voice and his instruments to it, snd all of a sudden it's not AI. I think of it as AI inspired. When I write, I have a preconceived idea of what the song sounds like in my head. Using AI doesn't necessarily produce what I had envisioned. I'm very confused about the whole AI issue.

@@RansbyJohani am scared i didn't get it right.... What do u mean by putting two melodies together like on top of each other overlap or??? My question was that suppose in a song there is a verse and a chorus.... Now do they both have any melodic relation with each other or do artists just make any melody they like for a verse and chorus without connecting them melodically with each other ? Also thanks so much for the support and answering me!!! I hope u understand my question right :")
@@Annie-bf9ic Together in a song, so one melody is chorus and the other melody is the verse
There are no rules, so just make a lot of songs and learn by doing, that's the only way to do it :)
Very interesting! Why do you sound blurry? It's very nice but what is the technique?
I have never heard that term about music before 😂
you have a great voice
Thank you very much! 🥰
But where did the other music/Melodie comes from? That was there before? But it really helped
You’re asking about how it write the music?
what application is that..or what application can we use to write melodies like that...I have wrote a hell lot of songs but i need an application to compose those songs... please help me
I'm using Ableton live, but you could also use, Cubase, Logic Pro, reaper or any other daw :)
What program do you use?
What program are you using for this? Also, did you create the music first?

It takes you from scratch to a full song in Ableton with thorough step by step instructions :)
Thank you 🤗
Thank you! 🥰
Thank you!
Im stilll confused as to the relation of how to add melodies to the "lyricless" music, is there a rule or do I just find a melody that suits the music?
There are no other rules than choosing what excites you.
There are a lot of misconceptions about you having to use theory to choose notes, but theory only explains what the function and relations are, and theory will tell you that you can use all 12 different notes with all chords:)
Theory is like a navigation system, it can tell you what you did, or how to come to a specific place, but it can't tell you where you want to go or where to go to make you happy :)
Theory can tell you how to copy a song or tell you that you used a dominant 7th chord, but it can't tell you what you like or what will make you happy :)
Whats the name of the theme song bro , and thanx alot for the advice , youre surlley underated
Thank you very much, I actually only made the song to demonstrate the technique, but I think I should finish it this year, thank you for your motivation! 🥰
please I have some lyrics with there toplines can I make a melody?
I'm not sure if I understand your question- But yes if you have lyrics you can use this "method"" to write topliners/melodies? :)
@@RansbyJohandidn't mean that what I mean I can sing the melody by my mouth but I can't play it on an instrument

What do you use to make the music?
Currently trying to find how to make music I am Completely new to all this.
My creativity :) What kind of music do you wanna make and what is your experience? :)
@@RansbyJohan I have no experience in songs but I do love to write. It’d be great to express myself in song by storytelling kind of way.

Man, lyrics are just lyrics, they aren’t MUSIC! Music is way SUPERIOR, and that’s the IDENTITY AND THE ESSENCE! Period!
I used to think the same thing. Couldn't have been more wrong.
@@rmp5s i don't understand
@@osamaqtaitat Music is about telling stories. Can't do that without lyrics. Words...I used to think they didn't matter, too.
@@rmp5s classical music is SUPERIOR, LEGENDARY, EPIC AND SPLENDID without lyrics lol!
Imagine listening to a song with the best lyrics in the universe in terms of themes, rhymes and metaphors, but with mediocre, average, boring, overused, hackneyed, not dynamic, not interesting, and not new music and musical structure....., no i don't give a shit lol, i want to hear MUSIC, not to hear words and lyrics.........
I care first and the most about MUSIC, then the lyrics is a bonus or secondary thing; at least being decent and ok, as long as the music is intriguing and interesting
If you want lyrics or that what you care about, go read literature or poetry or whatever......, that's NOT MUSIC, SIMPLY....
even most lyrics are mostly boring and not interesting or different. There are some exceptions, and at least it should be ok/decent as long as the MUSIC rocks and interesting. But regardless, i care first and the most about MUSIC itself......
@@osamaqtaitat I don't care to read your dissertation. If you think you can be successful like that?...if you think you are the next Beethoven?...go for it. Best of luck.

my problem is I know how the melodies sound in my head but I lack the skills to make them come alive
