I’m on it ! 😊🎣
The bug is the drug! I finally got me a package of blue baby bugs. LOVE THEM! Been Catching every day since! Thanks for the recommendation
I'm right handed and have always used a left handed reel , it just feels more comfortable to me
Don't be a chicken shit Yak make it 2000 likes and go get your shit!
Yes it did do great
Norm is to nice to get his truck broken into and to get his stuff stolen!
Thumbnail goes dummy
That left handed reel saves a step... been tryin' to tell people...Good video man, keep it up
Literally
Same! Its more efficient. And if you use a spinning combo, you most likely use left anyways.
I just got my first bait caster I was dead set on left then thought if I ever found a used one it's most likely would be Righty
Especially if your trying to get a spinning combo guy into bait casting I hand them a left handed reel
Left hand retrieve is the only thing that made me even consider a baitcaster.
I’m right handed and love my lefty reels, hooksets are definitely better and not switching hands is very nice
Same. Righty but fish left handed
Facts
Same here. I'd rather have my dominant hand in charge of the rod. More control. Better hook sets. Not switching hands in just a bonus.
Exactly!
Bro everyone needs a friendship like y’all’s
Norms stuff: gets stolen
Norm: needs to buy new stuff for himself
Norm: gets stuff for yak pak 😂😂😂
Find a friend like that
RIP to Norms bank account lately😬😂
Facts
I’m right handed, and use a left hand return reel. Makes sense to keep the rod in my dominate hand.
I am the same as you, I feel I also have more control with my rod on my dominant hand when using walking baits and jerking baits
Same
Imagine lefty and use a right handed reels over the Same reasons
Never knew so many right handed people cast and retrieved with the same hand until I watched UA-cam fishermen. Smh
Same
R.I.P norms truck and gear 😭😭😭
I knowwwwww right 😢
Not that 4th street LOL
Norm has been going thru a lot these past few weeks and he still thought about his friend over himself💙 that’s called love
I got the Lew's XFinity today and took my 5 year old twins fishing for the first time. I knew what I was doing only because of you, fisherman Norm, and LOJO. It was by far the best time that my boys have ever had with me. I've been looking for some way for them to connect with me since I was in the Marine Corps I've had a hard time connecting with anyone. They both told me that they want to fish all the time with me. Thanks guys! These videos really saved me in a big way!
I'm right handed and only use left handed reels. Feels more natural to do rather than casting and switching hands to start reeling.
I bought a lefty bait caster and wound up loving it. No switching hands! Norm is the man bro!
I’m right handed and have only used left handed bait casters since I started fishing with them. I grew up using spinning gear only, because that was all my dad used. But they were always left hand retrieve. So it just made since to me to get the others with a left hand retrieve. I think it makes way more sense and is just more efficient and comfortable personally. It never made sense to me trying to use a right hander.
Two weeks ago I went down to Texas for blue catfish and stripers though and the guides only had right handed reels and I was still able to fish just fine. Caught a 35 pound blue! :)
Awesome videos yak, thanks for making these!
I’m right handed and use only left retrieve. I always found it weird that people right handed do right retrieve. After watching you and all the other fishermen I realized I’m the one weird lol.
Nope! I do the same thing
I just bought my first baitcaster, all my spinning reels are set up with right handed crank, I cast then switch hands to reel in, I bought a left handed crank bait caster... While new way to fish, so much easier to cast and keep it in hand instead of switching.
Love the videos!
Agreed 100%
I’m the complete opposite 😭😭 started off with left crank spinners and my first bait caster is a right hand 😭😂 but it’s my first casting combo so doesn’t really bother me
Im right handed and exclusively use left handed reels on both baitcaster and spinning. I hate switching hands. Like that fish that hit instantly you may not of hook set him if you had to switch hands. Tight lines bro...
Same
Come on, dive for that rod! Norms a good man, sorry about his truck getting broken into. KFNS
I'm waiting for something extremely good to come to norm because he's so nice and friendly and even when his truck was broken into he was so chill something has to come to norm that will be amazing
Phil Mickelson is nicknamed Lefty because obviously he golfs lefthanded. What many don't realize is he is right handed. His uncles lefthanded clubs were in the garage when he borrowed them and taught himself to play. Simply amazing
I'm right handed and use left retrieve. Its quicker than changing hands and get to use strong hand to set hook. Always just felt natural to me.
Same here
I’m right handed and have always had my spinning reels set up with left handed retrieve. It’s the way I’ve been fishing for over 20 years, there’s so much muscle memory built up.
I knew immediately it was left handed reel same as the 151s. My best rod has a lefty on it and its super smooth and nice to cast but I miss prob 20% of the hook sets on it but I love it!
I switched to left handed casting reels and I’m so much more fluent with my casts! Best decision ever!
Same here! So much better!
Same all the way.
Love your videos yak park you make me laugh and you put a smile on my face win times are bad so thanks for that
I'm a righty and I much prefer left-hand reels. It just makes more sense to have the rod in your strong hand, IMO.
ETA: I also primarily use spinning reels, so that's just another bonus for me.
what a good friend
Sure you didnt see the sign lol.. Great Vid buddy.. also POOR NORM!
I love how Norm just have this man this stuff right after he got above 10k of his own equipment stolen.
I'm right handed and only use left handed bait casters because I don't have to switch hands to cast. It also felt more natural since I learned reeling in spinning reels with my left hand.
I'm right handed and use left handed reels almost completely. I just prefer having my dominant hand on the rod because it's not only easier to cast, but I don't worry about the pole getting ripped out of my hands if I hook into a river monster. It might also have something to do with only ever having hand-me-down gear or cheap stuff that is all I could find.
It’s always good to have these kinds of friends
Left handed is the only way! I’m right handed but only use left handed bait casters. Glad you could see the light!
Having started off on spinning tackle, I never bothered with a right handed baitcaster because I was already used to using my left hand for the handle. No switching hands post cast for me.
I love the way that bass walked on water. 😅
Lefty is so much better. Then you won’t miss fish on the drop when u have to switch hands. Saves a step and it feels natural if that’s how you use spinning reels
I am right handed but I started out using a left handed baitcaster so that I can have a faster reaction time and dont have to keep switching hands after I cast, I have really enjoyed using it this far.
I love my left handed bait caster. My right hand (dominant) always has a grip on my rod, and since I feel with my left spin caster, feels right at home.
You guys could always do a deeper pro vs garmin striker video and go in search of this fish with your combo!! Would just be a cool head to head from the best fishing partner combo on UA-cam
I started out right hand, but switched over the left hand reels. I find it time more time efficient when casting. Nonthing wrong with getting in that extra cast before the day ends.
My grandfather threw spincast and bait cast with left hand setups… but his open face spinners were right hand reel… he was right handed.
I am right handed and EVERY baitcaster I own is left handed. Absolutely love it.
I’m a lefty but use a right handed bait caster and spinning combos I’ve always been told you want to control the rod with your dominant hand/arm
I’m a right; but learned on a left because of the same reason you have. The tedious switching bothers me while I’m trying to cover water fast. Found it much easier to just learn the leftie; and use it as a main hand
I only fish with lefty casters for that very reason, switching hands every cast. Good video brother!
I am right hand dominant but use left hand retrieve reels easier for flipping and I am setting the hook with my dominant arm
I can use both retrieves. The only time ill only use right hand retrieves is when im casting a spinning rod and reel.
Left handed retrieves makes the most sense for right handed people though.
Norm is a good friend they're hard to come by
I am right handed and switched the lefty reels last year I love them now
FINALLY!!!! Another kayak video
I’m right handed and only use left handed baitcasting reels. It’s the accuracy for me 🔥👌🏽
A bro I love your videos and like I berly started fishing and like I think your content is really good👍👍
Now a days we need friends like yak and norm😇
Left hand casters are the way to go for righties!
Left handed is definitely the way to go for exactly the reason you mentioned in the video. No need to switch hands all the time! I bet you’ll have a hard time going back to a righty baitcaster now! 🤣
I bait cast right handed, and spin cast left handed, it’s always great to use both, never know when you’ll be in a pinch!
I've always found it easier to real left handed so I don't have to change hands as a right hander
I’m right handed and use left handed reels. I switched because of loosing fish on my skips but as a side affect I set the hook like Thor
I’m right handed and use lefty reels because I set the hook with my strong hand. It feels natural
Learned with a lefty, and I stick with a righty. If you're right handed youll end up loving it Yakky
I’m a righty and I use left handed. Stronger hookset for sure !
Honestly its just soo much smarter if your right handed to reel with your left hand so you are setting the hook with your arm💪🏾
im right handed and use a lefty reel. it makes more sense; I cast with the pole in my right hand, I have my right hand on the line for control, and all my left hand has to do is reel- which is the easiest part.
I'm a lefty and use a right handed reel, it's very convenient to not swap hands.
Started with right hand and my first rod got was left and been left since love it still have right reel just as back up
Oh ya yak, I have had that problem a few times with reels. It's weird I am a righty, but I have to hold the pole in my left hand and reel with the right. Then doing with a new baitcaster. That just sounds like long day on the water.
I'm right handed and love left hand retrieve! Its way more convenient ..
Welcome to the club I feel in love with left hand baitcasters the not switching is nice to bad I can never find a left hand real without ordering offline
Oh my goodness yak pak Now you see why us right hand of people love left-handed bait casters
Lefthand retrieve is the way to go!!
I wish I had friends as awesome as you and norm.
I am a righty that prefers the left handed reel ... keeps from having to switch back and forth casting AND reeling with right hand. Not sure where I picked this up, but always been that way. Once you get used to it, I think you will like it. If not, you can always send me your Curado 201 if it needs a good home. :)
I believe that is a right handed reel you crank with the eft hand but fight the fish with your right hand. Tight lines C-Ya
If you have backlashes it will bunch up your line and it will snap from wear in the middle of the spool, or something like that
I wish my friends were like that
im a right hander who uses left hand retrieve. its superior. you fight the fish with your dominant hand and don't have to switch hands after casting. All you have to have is the slightest bit of coordination to reel with your left hand and you are set.
plus if you started out fishing on a spinning reel that was left handed on the bottom side its literally the same damn thing!
I use both. My lews custom black is a righty my revo x and sx are lefty . Different uses call for the switch . But after a while you'll use either one
i have never been able to use a right handed reel. doesnt make since to switch hands after the cast. Nice fish!
I’m a righty and I only use left handed reels things just flow so much easier one the water and it feels more natural workin baits
Not gonna lie, I fish left handed everything despite being actually right handed. It feels more natural to me. I ordered a right handed reel online for the first time (before I even knew I fished left handed), I was so confused of why it was not on the side I was used to. It was very wrong for me to assume. But yeah, I change all my stuff to left handed reels. I love it.
I have always used a left handed baitcaster, to me that just felt right because it's like the spinning reel and I don't like switching hands for casting all the time.
I’m right handed And I like to yank with my right and reel with my left. Keep up the awesome videos.
I wish I had a left handed reel to throw my buzz bait on. It always sinks a little before I switch hands and the first few cranks are just getting back up to the surface.
lol I only fish with left handed reels. It feels nice to set the hook with your dominant hand.
You probably caught a slight knick in the line when spooling the reel. Luckily you did it before a big fish. 💪🏼
I got that same exact set up! Placed 2nd in my tourney today first day using it!!!!! Won me some $$$$ all my rods will be googan rods. Love em!!!!
I was given an old off brand lefty reel and I’m righty but I just spooled it up with some fluoro so I’m gonna try it
Yakpak i didn’t know you listen to upchurch. Love the vid keep it up
I usually use left handed retrieve. But I caught my pb on a right handed baitcasting reel. I use both. 😂
Ya my grandma a few years ago bought me a left-handed reel and I’ve used one ever since
Left hand retrieve for the WIN pimpin.... I have always been left hand retrieve spinning and casting... I'm right handed and setting the hook or walking/working a lure with my left arm/hand feels sooo wrong for me. Keep the 🔥🔥 content coming big man
Caught my pb bass today on the bug ... it definitely was the drug!
I started with a lefty baitcaster and im so glad i did im up to 4 shimanos and a lews all lefty
I use both but as a righty I have been told I should be using a left reel. I got used to it really quick but I have both right and left.
I use same thing I'm right handed.... But spinning reels I reel in with left.... But I use both
i am a righty that learned a baitcaster on a lefty reel, it was just easier transition from the spinning reel
I use a left handed spinning combo and a right handed baitcaster
Was it the carado that got pulled in. That sucks. I am happy you had a good day. That was nice of Norm.
I'm right handed and use left hand reels exclusively Im accustumed to it since I've always done it but I'd rather have my dominant hand for setting the hook and working the rod to land the fish.
