I'm fourth!
Yaaay, there you go!
Thanks for all this, Cody. Please, keep up the good work.
Yeah you're welcome 🥳 I want to strike a balance between this style of video and the more technical ones. This was fun to make though.
Need more videos like this.😂I enjoy working with computers and stuff but computer science is hard. Seeing salaries give me motivation just a little bit
More to come!
Great video, very informative. Do you know do they discount base pay based on where you live / different markets from CA?
I am not positive but they don't advertise that they pay the same across region so I assume they discount pay.
can you explain or make a video about the base pay for different degrees. like how much a bachelors holder would make from a masters holder
No need for a separate video, you won't make more money if you have a higher degree. In some cases you might get an extra $10,000 starting out but that is fairly insignificant when you consider the opportunity cost.
Nice video, straight to the point, loved it.
Can you also make a video on LinkedIn like the Facebook one.
Like which Facebook one?
@@CodyEngelCodes actually I was talking about the previous video you posted two weeks ago 'Solve this coding problems and earn 276000 dollar a year', my sister is doing her graduation in computer science and the videos here are helpful. Thanks.
LinkedIn’s free meal is real deal.
The quality is as good as top buffets in Las Vegas!
I couldn't have described it better myself!
I love this channel
That’s the comment.
Keep producing content please
Thanks!
This was great information. Do they offer permanent remote work or is it in office only?
As far as I know they do, but always worth checking their job postings. Most tech companies have a permanent remote option these days.
It is interesting that despite being under Microsoft, LinkedIn pays their software engineers better on average than Microsoft.
Yep, I thought the same. LinkedIn was able to continue to operate fairly autonomously, even the interview processes are separate.
A job like that would change my life completely. I'm just going to apply every year for the rest of my life
There we go, that's the spirit!
I really chose the right field
Sure did!
These numbers are crazy. I make like a third of that where I work. To be fair tho I don’t live in such a high cost of living area lol
Yeah, I was surprised how much they make when I was researching the video.
Sir please make a video on lifetime earnings comparison between doctors and software engineers in usa
It's on the list, please stay tuned.
Hi Cody I am new to your channel. I am currently learning DevOps. I know you only do software engineering content but from watching all your videos I am very interested in possibly one day working at LinkedIn. Does LinkedIn have a DevOps team and what are their compensation look like? And do they receive the same benefits. Thank you.
Not sure if they have formal DevOps. I'd recommend checking their jobs page for either DevOps or SRE; if they do you should expect the same benefits.
@@CodyEngelCodes thank you for the information please send me a link to their career page to have a look. Also as a DevOps engineer I have the same skill as a SRE so if theirs a posting for SRE not DevOps I am able to apply?
@@kojoantwi9723 You probably can just go on LinkedIn Jobs and manually search for either title. LinkedIn posts their available positions on their own site. You don't need to wait for Cody to send you a link lol
I applied 3 days ago!!!
Heck yes, good luck!
@@CodyEngelCodes thank you bro))
I am a senior swe at LinkedIn(SF) and my tc is 290k. That's way off from 450k
LinkedIn has inflated titles, Senior SWE at LinkedIn would be a Software Engineer at Google or Facebook. I should have mentioned that in this video but when I reference the levels I'm referencing the non-inflated versions that would transfer over to other tech companies (like Google or Facebook). $450K is what a "Staff" software engineer would make at LinkedIn which is the same as a Senior SWE elsewhere.
Thunder zz sir how many years of experience do you have?
@@pikusarker1359 3
@@thunderzz2233 sir what is your post tax income on 290k salary?
@@pikusarker1359 idk yet. joined this year
Please talk about hardware engineers
If a company comes up that has them I'll cover it.
i f i get that much pay i can start a business. Still growing as junior
How they make that revenue ? Looking for AR but there are only bits in Microsoft reports. They are also only foreign social network not banned in China. Some really clever people work there to navigate around those underwater stones.
Their premium memberships would be a huge driver for revenue, but as you pointed out, it's hard to know for sure because it's clumped together with Microsoft.
Ads. Same way yahoo makes money. Anytime there are eyeballs on a page, you can make money with ads. Their pages get a ton of traffic.
From my observations (I work at LI, I've browsed blind, and levels.fyi) your salary ranges are close to accurate, except if you need start from "software engineer" (removing entry level..since SWE is entry level) and make one Sr.Staff SWE it would be more accurate - everything is based on pay bands, some of these pay bands per level as outlined in the video don't ever happen - its just a an off by one error with the titles lol
Thanks! I used standard industry levels in this video so that's why SWE was referred to as entry level because that's what it would be at Google or Facebook. I should have called this out in the video though because it did add unnecessary confusion.
What if I am in from Mexico and I want to work from home and from my country, is it possible?
I currently work for one tech company as a software engineer (but this company is not big as LinkedIn)
I'm not sure, you'd want to check LinkedIn's jobs page.
Can you put same for Xandr?
I've never heard of them, will have to take a look.
Are the RSU’s in Microsoft stock?
I believe so, yes.
I thought Staff software engineers at FAANG make more than engineering managers. I don't really understand why engineering managers are paid so much?
LinkedIn isn't a FAANG company, but engineering managers are usually a lateral move from either senior or staff software engineer depending on company. With that in mind, they are paid less than staff software engineers. Directors are paid more because they manage more people and are probably at the same level as a principal or distinguished software engineer depending on company.
LinkedIn employees be getting paid
They sure be.
Hey with 300k / year just got 14,6k/month and total tax is 44%/ year, that's crazy
Taxes are fun!
Wow that’s almost half
@@dalagamble3164 CA taxes are very high. NYC too has a special tax. Cost of living is also high too.
so how to get a job as junior software developer in linkedin ?
Apply, and do well on the interviews.
@@CodyEngelCodes
but it needs a refer to get to the interview
Sir how much did you earned in 2021? Plz reply. Thanks a lot.
No clue, haven't filed my taxes yet.
I wanna be a software engineer

What is the procedure to apply for engineering manager
Find an engineering manager job posting and apply.
If you have to ask such a dumb question, you would not get the job regardless, so don’t even bother…

@@piyushamule4200 Engineering Managers typically have prior experience to leading teams of engineers.
Do they use Macs or Windows?
Good question and I'm not sure. Hopefully someone working at LinkedIn will stop by and respond to this comment.
@@CodyEngelCodes we use macs for engineers
This is insane.
Some might even say it's wild.
Wow very good money 🤑🤑
Feels good when u make same. I have same salary.
Nice job!
Please guide me .now iam a beginner

Omg his name is cody and he codes

Do you need a college degree to get in?
It's usually easier but degrees are becoming less important.
@@CodyEngelCodes can you explain why you think degrees are becoming less important? I can work as software engineer, software developer, coding, programming, or web development job position without a degree?
@@olympic-ass-eater I have co-workers majored in Music, BA, accounting... some of them just got offer at Google, too.
Just LC and SD you can get into any MAANG
@@thunderzz2233 do you know anyone there with no college degree?
@@olympic-ass-eater unfortunately, no. All I know have some random bachelor and with/without bootcamp experience
Hi
Hello!
glassdoor's current data is only half of what you are saying here
Glassdoor is not something I'd consider to be accurate.
quoting numbers without tax is plain stupid mate
I quoted take home pay with taxes for California in this video.
dont get ahead of yourselves because a technical route maxes out at 1.2 M, how about you compare how much the management route makes, probably 2x to 3x more than that, so please enough with the hype
I'm fairly certain this video talks about how much managers make?
First 👍 🤣
Almost! Olamide got the first comment but I bet you will next time 🥳
If you making $222k annual how you bring in $11k per month. The math doesn't add up
Because of taxes...
Engineers get paid too much. LOL
Too much, or not enough?
For such high salaries, LinkedIn sure has shitty software. If they're paying out that much, the LinkedIn premium feature should be free at this point.
If LinkedIn premium was free they wouldn't be able to pay their software engineers as well as they do.
What about Hardware Engineers. Any data?
No, sorry 🙁
