I'm a full stack engineer, and I saw a cloud engineer opening and I applied using my FULLSTACK engineer resume, and surprisingly they want to interview me 😅 now I'm trying to figure out what a cloud engineer does. Life is weird and recruiters are even weirder
I've been in a cloud engineer role for ~2 years now and I feel imposter syndrome a ton. I think something that has been a more recent discovery for me is to be okay with not knowing everything. I am not going to a master at everything, at once. I feel more like a jack of all trades (although I still feel like a baby) lol but I'm chugging along doing my very best, and that is enough for me.
Wow... I've not been so engaged, excited, nor intrigued in my field (IT) in such a long time... I want to learn more! Your video has opened my eyes to what I've been missing for years. I started a bootcamp for learning how to code but honestly, I don't think I was completely prepared to pick up something new. Short story... I've been a Help Desk Support Technician for so long and I'm burnt out from it all... It's gotten so repetitive and low-key very boring. Every new assignment is the same they just run differenly from company to company based on their needs. I'm no longer intrigued nor excited about it anymore.. I've been looking for something new for years and I'm just completely and utterly burned out... I can't wait to start to learn something new!! Thank you!
Thanks for a very clear explanation of the Cloud Engineer Role. Your video gives an excellent view of the role and what it entails on a daily basis. It has certainly cleared up a lot questions that I had. Keep up the good work.
I watched this video as I am being offered an interview for a Cloud Engineer role despite having only a small range of experiences. I've worked an On-prem and a 1st Line Helpdesk role but I'm a little intimidated by the prospect of moving up to something of this level. So thank you for at least easing some of my anxiety.
I'm a 19 year old student and I would love to learn cloud aspiring to be a cloud engineer like you, can you please help me? Could we comnect on LinkedIn or something?
Outstanding video. You cleared up a bunch of things... I just learned about Continuous Integration Continuous Deployment yesterday... I like the multiple aspects you showed. It's a plus...
how useful, thanks! I'm a marketer trying to learn about cloud developers and the industry in general for a community development project, this was super helpful
I would certify like to do multiple things, I was going to get admission in Software Engineering degree, but I can’t imagine myself programming all day. I am also customer centric personality, so even if it involves talking to customer I would love that. 😊
There is a degree called Cloud Computing from Western Governors University, have you heard of it and what are your thoughts? They have a AWS specialization, which I am going to take, and it includes many certifications.
What we do is, writing a yml file with the infrastructure and getting blamed by the project manager if the cloud self management system screws up self-managing :D. And then we manually configure everything by hand, by the time wasted we could have set the services by hand and monitored and scaled them. When it works it works, the more complex designs we're forced to implement (despite our objections) the more errors and huge bills arise.
Also, other parts of the day we wait for the project manager to gives us permissions to use certain services, and most of the time the manager doesn't understand the permissions system, and we have to watch him go through the cloud web interface for hours not asking us for help.
Hey Soleyman! Thanks for this video, I am currently working as a junior Full-stack engineer, getting a lot of exposure to DevOps and hoping to transition into a cloud engineer role in a year or so. Would you be able to make a video talking about how interviews for this role are usually? How easy/difficult do you think it is to transition from software engineer to cloud? I am also self-taught, so no CS bacground. Many thanks :)
Learning software right now. My focus will be Java. When it comes to cloud I will need to learn some stuff. Do you reccomend building projects and utlising some AWS which I can put in a portfolio.
This video was very helpful! Thank you! You mentioned that you know a lot of Cloud Engineers that don’t have a programming language. How would someone in that position pass the technical part of an interview?
Tbh, Some openings doesn’t even do any programming tech stack. Sometimes it’s more on can you provide a solution to a problem by architecting multiple services that you know of. A very good knowledge base can get you far in the interview. But! Having the knowledge of programming sure helps putting you on top
Hi Soleyman. I found most of your video very useful. I am an AWS Cloud Engineer consistently working and learning to became a very confident Solutions Architect. I would really appreciate if I can collaborate with you for any future common vision.
Amazing explanation! I was always confused with cloud engineering as I was yet to cone across this clear explanation! Thanks a lot. I am learning Python now, should I delve into cloud learning now or wait until I finish python first. How much of Python one is supposed to know before doing cloud certification? Also, can I do cloud web development if I know html, css,JavaScript and Python ?
Can't believe cloud engineers don't know how to code that's ridiculous. How are they going to understand architecture then if they can't even grasp how data is passed around.
Your videos are really easy to follow and one of the best content creators out there on this platform for Cloud Engineering. I’ve recently just started as a beginner. Created a Microsoft account and started Azure fundamentals. Am I going in the right direction? I’m hoping to learn AWS too once I’ve done the Az900 fundamentals exam

how much percentage of programming languages is there in the Cloud world? is there any specific Cloud job that only has a small percentage of development languages for those who don't like it?
They massively overcomplicate simple tasks and miss the irony of it being harder to deploy a web application to a server than was possible in 2003. At least in my experience....
Yes. I would argue it’s more required in developing countries because power outages are common. With cloud the risk is spread across multiple data centres which go beyond borders.
