This game is a lot more interesting if you play as the Empire of the Hand. They have good units, but you have to think creatively because you don't get mobs of fighters and super spongy capital ships like the New Republic.
Brian Griffin I haven't found the Hand to be too powerful, personally. They have no SSDs, their Visvia stations cost way too much, and aren't as good as Ion Cannons or Hyper velocity guns. I guess the Hand's main advantage is the quality of their regular units, but even so their fighters aren't as good as the Republic, and even their Phalanx destroyers aren't as powerful as the Praetor battlecrusiers. The Hand doesn't get many good heroes either.
Three of the main capitals can take down a single SSD on their own. The Furion fighter can literally swarm kill almost everything and as long as you keep four or so together you can wipe every single Republic fighter swarm. I do agree that Ion Cannons and Hyper Velocity Guns are superior to the Visvia stations. They are absolutely too expensive. But the Hand has two ships with no engines and can jump in 4 seconds instead of 10. They can have a massive stack of commandos and still be considered a "raid"... I simply find that as soon as you begin pushing the enemy you can wipe out the entire galaxy with relative ease.
Brian Griffin The Phalanx is good, but it's not significantly better than the other factions capital ships. It's arguably weaker than the Endurance, the Tector, and definitely the Praetor. It doesn't make up for the Hand being the only faction not to have an SSD. Though, I will say it's a very good bargain for its cost, especially if you build the Syca corporation. I sometimes make raid fleets of nothing but Phalanxes. Jumping in just 4 seconds is nice, and it makes the Hand good at raids. Furions are good, but Tie Defenders are better. And Furions aren't nearly as numerous as New Republic fighters, or as powerful as K-Wings against cap ships, and they don't come free, except for the squadron the Phalanx carries. True, you can stack a bunch of commandos. I don't like to do it personally, feels like a cheat. You're correct though, that alone does make them pretty overpowered. That's kind of a problem with this mod, in general. It cares more about being true to the lore than it does about game balance. I found RAW to be better balanced overall.
drksideofthewal I found that ground combat was a bit of a drag in this one compared to RAW...or especially Clone Wars. I definitely think there are balance issues. But if you are finding that the Phalanx is struggling, I might suggest that you are utilizing it wrong...I really do find that taking three Phalanx will melt away everything...so long as it has anti-fighter support. I actually found (and I rarely do this anymore because it feels wrong) that a full stack of only Furions is hands down the best fighter swarm. They will melt nearly everything. Weak point being that anti-fighter corvettes are really good for the Empire.
Thanks Shack for finally building more capital ships on other planets like Syca in the west!! Still many more worlds can build on like Yaga Minor in the north that already have Lvl 3 station. Still would like to see the stealth scout hero @ Mon Calamari and can select by double clicking his portrait on the top right of the screen to the right Leia's. Keep it up!
Nowadays, destroyers are the largest and most formidable surface combatants on the oceans. It's highly ironic given that destroyers used to be quite small during the first half of the 20th century. Maybe Lucas was a brilliant naval warfare visionary back in the 70s?
I swear he calls everything an MC80 or a Nebulon now. He calls MC90s MC80s, he calls correlian corvettes MC80s and he calls Nebula star destroyers/carriers (whatever they are) Nebulons!
For some reason i just thought of a cool mod for this. Thank you Shack now i will not be able to get it out of my head because i lack the skill to make it. "Battletech at War"
Pablo Hidalgo is the guy in charge of keeping all of the different movies/shows/books, etc., consistent with the lore. He is essentially in charge of canon. He is a great follow on twitter.
I've noticed the viscount has an ok time pathfinding when you give a move order. It's only when you tell it to attack that it decides to do a slow-mo breakdance
captain shack I think turrets that can be captured like how you capture radar dishes( the ones with the star symbol on the map) don't need power, it just spawns ridiculously close to the enemy.good job btw on the north ward push.
Hey Captain Shack I noticed a few episode ago when you fighting the Empire of The Hand a kind of purple new faction showed up. Why do you do your next episode on fighting this new faction on that front. PS I love your let's play it's amazing and keep on doing it.
my favorite scene from Rouge one was when that tiny hammerhead corvette caused an ion-cannoned ISD to cleave another ISD in half, the entire fucking command structure was torn off
shack, it's not that the AI are more likely to retreat when the space station is destroyed, it's that they can/will not retreat while it is still functioning. if you're dominating a space battle just ignore the station until you clean up their forces
Is anyone else freaked out by Ho how accurate this is. I mean, Shack was being held back and even pushed back slightly. Then Thrawn dies and all of a sudden, he pushes right through with only occasional resistance.
Well to be fair Shack, the Rebel fleet at Scarif did have several GR-75 Medium transports in its fleet. So maybe you can call this as a semi-accurate recreation of the battle of Scarif? I mean all you need left is an MC 75 cruiser (the flagship with the glass ball bridge) and a Hammerhead, and you're set.
Fun fact, Wayland wasn't lost because of a clerical error though that was the excuse, it was removed off maps because Palpatine built a huge vault of stuff he didn't want any to know about and set up a sith lord called the Guardian to defend it, at least that was the reason in Legends timeline
Yeah those Rebel Fighters, specialy B- and K-Wings can wreck a lot, only better fighters are coming from the Empire of the Hand. Enemy TIE's are not even the biggest problem, the thing you must have an eye on are those Lancer Frigates, once you see one coming too close to your fighters you basicly have to pull your bombers back or select all you have and bring the Lancer down fast. Btw. do you plan to do an other playthrough with an other Faction? The Empire of the Hand has some really nice Units and is kinda fun to play.
Those A6 Juggernauts are mislabeled, they are not modeled after the A6 at all. They are just the B5 from the base game, renamed. They probably meant the A5, not the A6. Soo many people mislabel the A6 that I start to get annoyed by how often it happens.
Secure wayland. when i played through, all infantry cost only 1 credit. Even special infantry. It might have been a glitch but it worked for the remnant, the hand, the new republic and the alignment
Also shack for the viscount don't give it attack orders just tell it to move places because if you give it attack orders it spins and wants to chase its ass
for the love of god shack use your spy. he is on mon calamari. he is that one tan guy you always skip over because you don't know what he does. he will have the stealth icon on him if he is in space by himself
Marek Steele, the pilot you play in the old PC Game TIE Fighter, and Captain Shack sent only a single A-wing squadron against him. Can we now promote him to Commisar (and attach him to a Catachan Jungle Fighter unit)?
I wish this game allowed you to ‘land,’ your ground troops if you brought them into the battle, if for no other reason than 99% of the time you just have to stick them in the corner of the space battle or retreat and come back without them.
Barely related, but I was playing BF2 with this on my other monitor. I was playing the Sith Wars 2 mod, and was sniping some Sith scum, and one of the Sith reflected my bolt into his friend's face. 10/10 ninja Sith skill. Also, Rouge One was amazing. My two biggest problems are CG Tarkin (He was impressive, but I think they should have used a real person) and I didn't like the Rebel flag ship (did look Mon Cal).
the technology behind creating that is rather interesting and the story behind it, at least what I have heard, they use 3-rd modeling of pre-existing footage, of Peter Cushing, thing is there were no full body shots of the original Tarkin, he told Lucas at the time of filming that he did not want to wear the boots the other officers had and Lucas was fine with it, that is why all his shots are from mid body up, so all the shots they used to create the full body CG Tarkin are from other movies the actor Peter Cushing was in, this technology has come a long way, just look at CG Tarkin from Revenge at the end, while blurry, he certainly looked like it might be him, apparently it was
I wish the Correlian CR90’s had a “ram” option incase they were a lost cause?, cause that would be cool, pushing a star destroyer into the planet's surface and see the wreckage on the planetary invasion
how do i land troops (or vehicles) when there's a space fleet? I only ask since i really don't want to kill Pellaeon THEN Palps (Byss space has several, including Pellaeon)
I think they're just mad that Disney wiped the ENTIRE expanded universe away. To be honest, I'm slightly mad about it too, although they are trickling things back in.
How come the AI doesn't build a lot of hypervelocity guns? Those things are OP Don't know how you can get past them. Especially in this mode where no raids are possible.
if you select Hunt on fighters they will focus Fighters and bombers as primary and Capital ships as secondary( a tip so you don't micro so much :P)
I've been waiting for days to watch this gameplay.
Nik Asyraf yeah me2
Nik Asyraf He doesn't do this series as often as he used 2... It sucks too becuase this is my favorite series
This game is a lot more interesting if you play as the Empire of the Hand. They have good units, but you have to think creatively because you don't get mobs of fighters and super spongy capital ships like the New Republic.
I actually find the hand to be a bit too powerful...until they are on the defensive....I still love them though.
Brian Griffin

I would LOVE to see one episode a day, so good!
IKR it takes him a month to put out 1 episode and I HATE it
For Shack everything is a Mc-80. Mc-90... no that can't be right, that is an Mc-80! Corellian Corvette... also Mc-80! 😂
please shack when you completed this campaign please do a imperial and empire of the hand play-through
Thanks Shack for finally building more capital ships on other planets like Syca in the west!! Still many more worlds can build on like Yaga Minor in the north that already have Lvl 3 station. Still would like to see the stealth scout hero @ Mon Calamari and can select by double clicking his portrait on the top right of the screen to the right Leia's. Keep it up!
You shouldve used the ion cannon to disable one of the venators and used one of your corvettes to push it into the other venator :P
I was wondering during the Rogue One space battle why they brought transports! They seem so harmless in battle
Right? What as the point of those being in the combat fleet? Other than to point and say.. Hey! Its those ships from Empire.
I wondered same thing, maybe they're empty and just used as cannon fodder?
+TheXPGamers maybe it's because of there visual addition to the Rebels' fleet
troop transport for reinforcements to ground battle
Well, the rebellion is poor, any ship is better than none.
Do you like the Death Star in Rogue One? The power and the ending scene was amazing.
>CR90 AT THE MAW
"mc80 at the maw"
My heart broke a little when Shack said the Quasars have a little anti fighter capabilities. THEY ONLY HAVE FIGHTER DEFENSE WEAPONS.
Am i the only one who thinks that it is quite ironic that the biggest and most badass ships in Star Wars are called Destroyers? Well never mind..
well the destroyers are rather small compared to cruisers (keldabe in base, praetor 2 in this mod)
***** true that is.
needude72 Right.
Nowadays, destroyers are the largest and most formidable surface combatants on the oceans. It's highly ironic given that destroyers used to be quite small during the first half of the 20th century. Maybe Lucas was a brilliant naval warfare visionary back in the 70s?

Wonder when Shack will hit Dathomir? That'll definitely surprise him, unless he already knows that is.
Nice video keep it up shack
captain shack I think turrets that can be captured like how you capture radar dishes( the ones with the star symbol on the map) don't need power, it just spawns ridiculously close to the enemy.good job btw on the north ward push.
the force protected me I protected you
39:51 the lone MC80b named enterprise
If you ever attempt this mod again. Man the hand would be really cool to see
Asi 9 or the Pentestar Alignment cos you get to play with venators and stuff
Hey Captain Shack I noticed a few episode ago when you fighting the Empire of The Hand a kind of purple new faction showed up. Why do you do your next episode on fighting this new faction on that front. PS I love your let's play it's amazing and keep on doing it.
There were so many references to rebels, in the last battle you could see the ghost!!
Rogue one was awesome !!! Best ending ever !!! This Thrawn series has been a blast to watch !!!
shaak their is a super star destroyer over dathomir and make a group of jedi for auto resolving as the could take out entire armies
my favorite scene from Rouge one was when that tiny hammerhead corvette caused an ion-cannoned ISD to cleave another ISD in half, the entire fucking command structure was torn off
Rebellions are built on hope?
yes....... it is
personally i like my rebellion built with massive stock pile of weapons
Dark Kronis I prefer mine served raw.
the new republic isnt really a rebellion now…
Shack I nearly cried seeing the A6 Juggernaut in Rogue One and the like only 2 Deathtroopers shouldhave died.
shack, it's not that the AI are more likely to retreat when the space station is destroyed, it's that they can/will not retreat while it is still functioning. if you're dominating a space battle just ignore the station until you clean up their forces

Not gonna lie when I saw that Clone Wars era Juggernaut I was sooooooo happy! I hope to see more Clone Wars era vehicles in the Han Solo movie
Whoah, Marek Stele. The player character from TIE Fighter. Nice.
Shack you know what's funny I legit predicted this last night
Btw shack the name of that clone truck is the juggernaut
Kai Mosley Predict what exactly?
The episode
Well to be fair Shack, the Rebel fleet at Scarif did have several GR-75 Medium transports in its fleet. So maybe you can call this as a semi-accurate recreation of the battle of Scarif? I mean all you need left is an MC 75 cruiser (the flagship with the glass ball bridge) and a Hammerhead, and you're set.
...He makes a big deal about accidentally bringing his ground forces with him then repeats the same mistake immediately... lol
Can we just talk about how at 12:39 it looked like that MC80 pulled a Rogue One and rammed that Dreadnaught to death.
It doesn't matter if you have no contiguous planets; as long as you have another planet under your control, you can retreat.
Fun fact, Wayland wasn't lost because of a clerical error though that was the excuse, it was removed off maps because Palpatine built a huge vault of stuff he didn't want any to know about and set up a sith lord called the Guardian to defend it, at least that was the reason in Legends timeline
TwentySided42 You mean the Joras Corbath (sp?) clone?
Merry Christmas Shack!
I'm probably going to see Rouge One when it comes to Netflix or Red Box. Force Awakens fell so flat for me that I just don't waist the money.
Jacob Clark no go see it it's better than the force awakens
Jacob Clark I hated force awakens but I loved rouge one
Jacob Clark same, I hated the last one and don't want to waist any money on it :/
With the huge ship you have put him right on top of the enemy base, not so far away from them.
Just when I was wondering when Thrawns Revenge would come out
Stellaris and Thrawns Revenge are my favourite like if you agree
Yes shack the Jedi used a special type of x-wing known as a stealth-x a modifed x-wing equipped with a stealth genator
Can't wait for a rouge one and sequel trilogy mod
Rouge One? I think I'd prefer Jaune Three, maybe Bleu Two.
rouge two bothan sacrifice
WAYLAND gives you 1 credit troop production so use it to your advantage
Yeah those Rebel Fighters, specialy B- and K-Wings can wreck a lot, only better fighters are coming from the Empire of the Hand.
Enemy TIE's are not even the biggest problem, the thing you must have an eye on are those Lancer Frigates, once you see one coming too close to your fighters you basicly have to pull your bombers back or select all you have and bring the Lancer down fast.
Btw. do you plan to do an other playthrough with an other Faction? The Empire of the Hand has some really nice Units and is kinda fun to play.
Tell me more about the Hammerhead Corvette
Jasper Whins look at Kotor
ok
Those A6 Juggernauts are mislabeled, they are not modeled after the A6 at all. They are just the B5 from the base game, renamed. They probably meant the A5, not the A6. Soo many people mislabel the A6 that I start to get annoyed by how often it happens.
you should use corran in your ground forces. he has an ability like yoda had that allows you to see the whole map.
Secure wayland. when i played through, all infantry cost only 1 credit. Even special infantry. It might have been a glitch but it worked for the remnant, the hand, the new republic and the alignment
You have a fleet at the NorthWest side of the map behind your lines not being able to be attacked.
I loved it shack merry Christmas!!!
Maarek Stele is the person you play as in the TIE fighter game supposedly
Shack i think that J.J. Abrams is the one producing all the new star wars movies, though I might be wrong on that.
There's a really powerful superstar destroyer still out there
Also shack for the viscount don't give it attack orders just tell it to move places because if you give it attack orders it spins and wants to chase its ass
for the love of god shack use your spy. he is on mon calamari. he is that one tan guy you always skip over because you don't know what he does. he will have the stealth icon on him if he is in space by himself
thank shack for puting up this video
I was waiting for you to come back
anyone else notice how shack called like every ship in the fleet an mc80?😂😂
shack the turbo laser towers that were still running were captureable so they dont need power
Pablo Hidalgo controls the canon btw. I think thats what you were asking.
I love the way he attacks but he should try to get a fleet of purely capital ships
also shack have they ever done an andromida mod for anything yet do you know
I thought the piolt scenes looked really familiar also Hammerhead Frigates for the win. Also i thought it was the dad i totaly forgot about hara.
With the Viscount u need to tell him we're to go not what to do. And then he will kill every thing near his path
It's a Juggernaut, Shack
Marek Steele, the pilot you play in the old PC Game TIE Fighter, and Captain Shack sent only a single A-wing squadron against him.
Can we now promote him to Commisar (and attach him to a Catachan Jungle Fighter unit)?
Rogue 1 was Amaaaaaazing
I wish this game allowed you to ‘land,’ your ground troops if you brought them into the battle, if for no other reason than 99% of the time you just have to stick them in the corner of the space battle or retreat and come back without them.
I loved rogue one. It was awesome.
I just noticed at 39:51 that MC80B has the name Enterprise. :O
Shack the viscount will work better if when you move it dont click attack anything just have it move next to the enemy and it wont start spinning
Lothar Varnoth takin is dead in real life
I didn't know that, but I should think they might have found someone similar enough that they could SFX into looking very close
the technology behind creating that is rather interesting and the story behind it, at least what I have heard, they use 3-rd modeling of pre-existing footage, of Peter Cushing, thing is there were no full body shots of the original Tarkin, he told Lucas at the time of filming that he did not want to wear the boots the other officers had and Lucas was fine with it, that is why all his shots are from mid body up, so all the shots they used to create the full body CG Tarkin are from other movies the actor Peter Cushing was in, this technology has come a long way, just look at CG Tarkin from Revenge at the end, while blurry, he certainly looked like it might be him, apparently it was

I loved the film it's such a success
you called a cr 90 a mc 80 the ironey
and cough cough 12:40 mc 90
if you read this can you do a x3 ap how to video on how the game works like how you trade how you buy ships cause i got lost
cough cough 40:28 Mc-90's not Mc-80's.he reads info but still gets it wrong
also cough cough 42:16 apparently Corvettes are Mc-80's
would love if he makes a vid on how to download this mod cuz when I do it it still loads up wrong game. and I put in the modpath
hey shack why were you calling the corelion corvettes mc80?
I loved rogue one as well. Did anyone else notice the ghost from star wars rebels?
how do i land troops (or vehicles) when there's a space fleet? I only ask since i really don't want to kill Pellaeon THEN Palps (Byss space has several, including Pellaeon)
Rouge 1 was a prequel to a new hope, after revenge of the Sith. Look at the end of Rouge 1 and the battle of tantive 4
Nice video shack keep it up
I LOVE THE DARTH VADER SCENES
Ikr?! That last scene where he boarded the ship would have totally redeemed the movie had it been utter shit!
Reid McAllister oh my gosh that was so intense!
So was that cheesey choking jokes. So intense!!!
In rogue one, when they said "Galen" the first time, I thought they meant Galen merrick, however you spell his last name.
Hey shack after this play through can you play the imperial remiment?
rouge one was cool did they however use some scenes from episode 4 for gold leader but not a complaint it was epic
31:48 secret text meassege on the top lef corner
reporting for duty captain
wow, shack that ground battle was hard to watch.
liam morgan-nolan all his ground battles are hard to watch
the commando raid on garros four reminded me if rouge one
it was great saw rogue one yesterday
I've heard that a lot of people think that Disney ruined Star Wars but I think they did great
I think they're just mad that Disney wiped the ENTIRE expanded universe away. To be honest, I'm slightly mad about it too, although they are trickling things back in.
true true
How come the AI doesn't build a lot of hypervelocity guns?
Those things are OP
Don't know how you can get past them.
Especially in this mode where no raids are possible.
Can't wait to go see Rogue One :D
Best star wars movie
tbh when was the last time we saw a isd
When do we get the next episode?
Milamber Puc Hopefully soon
