  • I got this mixer to replace my older Yamaha. It has a lot of features, but some of them do not work like they should. I'll let you be the judge on sound quality. Let me know what you think in the comments.

Wow! I just saw an AD at the start of my 1 minute 49 second video! I guess some one made money, but it wasn't me!

I have had mine for about 5 years. I dont have any noise issues. I mainly use it for routing audio to different monitors in my studio!

To be honest, the only reason I said it was noisy, was because a friend could hear it. My my ears, unless the gain is pushed high, I can't. Glad that yours is still good after 5 years, I hope mine lasts that long! Thanks!

So is this mixer just a copy and a cheaper quality version of the Yamaha MG16XU ?

It looks like a copy, of the Yamaha MG16XU, but the USB audio interface is different than the Yamaha, it only does 16 bit 44khz, mono in, stereo out, even though it says on the mixer 24bit 192 khz. This also has bluetooth audio input, and a USB stick playback and recording, recording is mono though. As an analog mixer it's ok, but noisy.

The music is just a midi clip I had, played through my JUNO DS.

what do you mean by noisy?? can this mixer be used in a banquet hall or house of worship?

What I mean by noisy is the mixer without any inputs or outputs connected has a hissing noise in the audio chain. You can hear it with headphones on, at very little gain. Can you use it for what you stated? Of course, the noise is over powered by the sound going through it. Hope this helps.

@johnsmithkeysareme I have a mini drive rack (GoRack) I can use with this to try and suppress the hum

@@djlahawkhawkins6302 That might help, but the noise isn't a 60 cycle hum, it is white noise from the op amps, I'm pretty sure there isn't enough filter caps on the internals. But I am gong by what I hear, I haven't taken it apart to see.

@@djlahawkhawkins6302So far, I haven't had any problems with it. Yes, this is used in my studio, connected to a M-Audio Delta 24/96 internal sound card, in my computer I use in the studio. Using the usb will work, if you ok with recording in Mono, that's why I don't use the usb interface on the mixer. I use stereo analog out into the internal sound card. Almost every video I have here on You Tube, the audio is routed that way. The videos posted after this one, is using this mixer.
