Loved your reaction to this episode! You were right about Louis being suicidal after his brother's death and I think it's something a lot of people miss (despite him saying 'I wanna die!' in his confession). The actors have mentioned it in interviews, that part of the reason Lestat is so over the top at the funeral and in the church is because he knows Louis is on the edge and if he doesn't show his true self and offer Louis the dark gift that night then he might never get another chance. It's messy as hell, because Louis is too full of grief to really consider the offer rationally, but Lestat is ultimately doing it because he loves him. Can't wait to see your reactions to the rest of the series!
Thank you!! I really thought it would play out that way, but I so much prefer the way they did it! I think Louis’ psyche was shattered after the death of both his brother and Lily and the mum’s blaming. It was all a bit too much… but anyway, can’t wait to see more!!
The show has a drama construction, it's based on a novel and has a theater play vibe so it takes they sweet time building the world, but it gets more intense, this season will follow the relationship between these vampires, will be a lot of drama, blood, violence, moral conflicts and vampire lore ofc and with S2 right in the corner, trust me will be even jucier, the good thing to start now is that you can catch the second right after, i've been holding my excitement for 2 years lol It's based on the works of Anne Rice, the mother of vampires as we know them today, there is a whole universe of it, and even another series from the same universe called Mayfair Witches, it's the reference of the breakfast scene, the plan is to build a tv universe with several connected series.
You asked “what if he could actually speak to birds?”. Paul might be schizophrenic, he might be having true religious visions, or he could be able to communicate with spirits or something like that. If vampires are real, maybe what Paul was experiencing is also real. Loved your reaction!
This series is based on Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles, which includes fifteen books in total. AMC have acquired the rights to them all. Anne Rice redefined vampire literature forever. The authors and creators of The Vampire Diaries, True Blood, The Twilight Saga, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Lost Boys, and other works have all recognised Anne as a major source of inspiration. These books are very much for adults, not your typical YA vampire tales. Lestat is the main protagonist after the first book, but there is much more to come. And, no, Lestat had nothing to do with Paul's death, nor did he compel Louis to accept the dark gift of vampirism. You may want to react to the original 1994 film with Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Kirsten Dunst, Antonio Banderas and Christian Slater. So happy you've decided to watch this. I'm a big fan of your channel.
Thank you @TheatreDesVampires by your username I can tell you're a big fan!! Thank you so much for all the insight! I will react to the original film once I finish the series. I am already in love with these series 🧛♂
Anne Rice wrote and created this fantastic supernatural world called The Vampire Chronicles. Interview is the 1st book. Mayfair Witches is another Anne Rice series of books that AMC+ turned into a series. Mayfair has only one season so far. There isn't any real cross over between the two series yet. They've made some changes from the book. Louis is a white plantation owner in the book and movie with Brad Pitt.
You’re in for an exciting adventure with this show. And the second season is coming soon so your timing is perfect. The witch reference was for the Mayfair Witches. Another series from Ann Rice and set in New Orleans which AMC has also turned into a series.
The 1st episode of this show builds up so it has those beats just spent on Louie's human life, 2nd episode and beyond is where it gets iconic but it's important to show Louie as a human cause boy a lot happens in this season, the show/novel series is character-driven so the characters drive the plot mainly but yeah the show gets dark now that both of them are a Vampires.
Oh totally awesome we need more reactions on UA-cam to this show because it's amazing and incredible it became one of my favorite shows I'm obsessed/hooked Season 2 premieres on May 12th cannot wait!!! Jacob Anderson(Louis) & Sam Reid(Lestat) and the whole cast and crew are so phenomenal. They all will hopefully get Emmy's next time around. Also this show is an adaptation of the whole Anne Rice Vampire Chronicles Book Series(their is 13 books) the Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise 1994 movie was also an adaptation of only the first book Interview With The Vampire.
The church Lestat made Louie into a vampire was a real one, imagine that. I'd love to know how they did the floating scene when the two men were naked. There is a YT video around 42 minutes long that shows the making of the show. Well worth looking at. Anne Rice the author died while the show was being made it says in the video. Can;t believe there are people doing reactions to the first season. Enjoy it young man.
Thanks for these details! Usually floating scenes are done with harnesses and green screens, but I wonder if they were actually naked… regardless it was a GORGEOUS scene! I will definitely be checking out the BTS once I finish the series!
FYI Although you perfectly understand that vampirism is presented differently form one fantasy setting to another, it should be pointed out, that, in general, real world myths about vampires predate all the Abrahamic religions altogether. So, the Power of Jewish fairytales, including the one where an eloquent jewish businessmen was crucified by Romans and somehow achieved godhood - pure bullsh*t in the eyes of those truly ancient mythical beings. And since Ann Rice was trying to make it pseudohistorical she made her vampires SpiritusSancti bullsh*t free. But later in her books she became a bit crazy (happens often with religious people) and added angels, God and the Devil, Atlantis and the aliens into the lore. Still, her God doesn't care about our planet, which makes so much sense.
This is fascinating! Everything always has some link to the past and I love some mythological references. Thanks for sharing 🖤 can’t wait to learn more from the series and once I start reading the novels 😍
Im glad I got recommended you. Im curious how much you will love this show. Oh, you will love it. I just don't know the level yet. The next episode will explain some of the rules but if you still have questions after I will try an answer them. Can't wait for episode two.
Hi! I'm new to your channel, brought here by my current favorite show :-) I've noticed quite a few people reacting to this in recent weeks which is fantastic leading up to the season 2 premiere in just a few more. I really enjoyed your reaction and I'm glad you like the show as I am always looking for more fellow queers to watch! I hope you stick with it, I've been a fan of the source material for.... probably longer than you've been alive, and it really is an incredible universe ❤
It’s based on the Anne rice novel interview with the vampire it also was a movie back in the 90’s with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt more based on the book this tv show is not at all based on the books they did a lot of changes.
hola te aconsejo k veas esta serie primero he visto mary y george y lamentablemente no esta a la altura de esta extraordinario show gracias x reaccionar me gusto tus comentarios lestat es mi favorito tan sexy encantaador t malvado
Hola! Gracias por el consejo. Sí tienes razón. Pero a lo mejor no es que no este a la altura, porque reconozco que tiene su encanto. Pero sinceramente prefiero esta serie! Y sí, Lestat 😍
the episode is not slow, it is a buildup. i think people are too used to rush stuff and to typical fantasy/scifi that is devoid of a lot of meaning and depth. the creator said this is a GOTHIC ROMANCE so to quote louis... let the tale seduce you.

I am so ready for this universe! 🤩
"How diverse this supernatural world?" It IS! They imply there are beings out there other than vampires.
Lestat's name was said like 20 times and even written on a piece of paper LOLOLOL how could you not remember it immediately after watching the episode
Hahahahahhaha happens every time I watch something new. I have the memory of a 🐠 I think by ep 2 I know it 😂😂😂
You asked “what if he could actually speak to birds?”. Paul might be schizophrenic, he might be having true religious visions, or he could be able to communicate with spirits or something like that. If vampires are real, maybe what Paul was experiencing is also real.

OMG I LOVE your theory! thanksss

@@FabiReactsYes, I'd recommend watching the movie only after finishing S2 because there are spoilers
this show is a masterpiece! im glad more people are now reacting to it !

I love me some witchcraft too! 🪄
@@FabiReacts It's a pretty unique take on witches. Don't know if it will get a 2nd season.
The cassette has the date of the first interview written on it. It was in the 1970s.
Yep. It said 1973.
You’re in for an exciting adventure with this show. And the second season is coming soon so your timing is perfect.

I guess I know what I’m watching next! 🧙♀️
Glad you're watching this wonderful show, but as Louis said to Daniel, let the tale seduce you.....your patience will definitely pay off! ❣
Thanks! I love that line!

This show is soo good, so ready for the second season
But every vampire show or movie that has come out in the last 20 to 30 years is based off of the Anne Rice vampires
First time finding your channel, really enjoyed your reactions.
Thank youu 🫶🏽
I would suggest you watch with the captions on bc you do miss a few things in dialogue.
I already do 😭 I’ll try to be more observant
