Yes the top main characters are Louis(Jacob Anderson) and Lestat(Sam Reid), also Daniel(Eric Bogosian) is the interviewer. Welcome to the obsession and being hooked like all of us🤗 This show is amazing, beautiful, masterfully done on many levels, from the acting, directing, writing, production design, cinematography, all so phenomenal. Also many of the episode titles, and dialogue come directly from the Anne Rice books. But I look forward to seeing you react to the rest of the show you have 5 episodes left. And Season 2 premieres on May 12th so close cannot wait!!!
Ann Rice invented the name "Lestat". She wanted to name him after her husband Stan Rice so he had to be "Lestan" at first. But because of some mistake he became Lestat and she liked the name and kept it.
The dialogue is really beautiful, isn't it? Such clever storytelling, wonderful acting, lovely music, stunning outfits - everything is of such high quality! To use your favourite word, there's something incredibly compelling about watching Louis straddle the line between his humanity and this new monstrous existence, while he navigates the complexities of a relationship with his jaded maker/mentor! Enjoying your reaction - good job!
Loving the reactions!! They have updated & adapted Anne Rice’s characters from her novels so Beautifully! Louis & Lestat are such fantastic vampire characters & I’m glad that so many people are finally getting into the Vampire Chronicles. ❤️🔥
You're right, the writing on this show is on another level and sometimes the dialogue is just pure poetry. You're like me bc I would want to be a vampire but wouldn't want to deal with the inconveniences that might come with it...except being a night owl I don't think I would miss the sun that much. My issue would be missing the taste of food lol. And ftr the transformation in the show is pretty tame compared to the books where they actually crap themselves.
Yeah, Lestat is a name that isnt actually real... Anne Rice originally named Lestat... Lestan, after her husband Stan, but at some point in the writing process she wrote a typo and accidentally wrote the name Lestat and really really liked it... so she kept it. So yeah I don't think anybody blames you for not remembering his name because his name technically isn't a real name in our world. Lol it was created by mistake.
I don't know how deep you are into the Anne Rice rabbit hole, but here is some advice: Stick with the original five novels first. Self contained story when The Vampire Chronicles was originally just the Lestat show. Ignore the adaption of Queen of the Damned. Trust me. There is a Broadway musical adaptation called Lestat: The Musical. It was by Elton John. Other worthwhile Anne Rice adaptations are The Feast of All Saints and The Young Messiah. Mayfair Witches is required for this adaptation, but it's about witches. You'll like it. If into erotica, her Sleeping Beauty series makes 50 Shades look like soft core stuff. The UA-cam channels that are the best information wise: Maven of the Eventide, Dominic Noble, The Naughty Librarian, and Vampire Folklore.
I'm a newby here. This season is literally the first time I hear about her - I know... shame on me 🥲 but my plan will be to finish both seasons, watch the 1997 adaptation, watch Mayfair Witches and then start with the books! But we'll seee! Thank you for all the info!!! 🖤
I read the first 5 novels about 15 years ago. I started the Vampire Armand but couldn't get into it. I'm rereading them now and hoping to finish the whole series. But are they worth it?!

Louis has green eyes 🙂 They all have different colour eyes but they get brighter and more intense

Very good advice for Anne Rice beginners. Another UA-cam recommendation I would add is "The Articulate Coven" they cover everything Anne Rice.
